This, in my honest opinion, is the best last Power Rangers show before Disney's ABC Kids Mighty Morphin revamp in 2010 and Saban Brands' and Nickelodeon's Samurai, both of which are major disappointments to me. The Mighty Morphin revamp, let's just say the new look of the theme, 60's Batman show onomatopoeic word pop-ups over the stylized fighting, and baseball card style stats before commercial break, ruined the nostalgia for me, especially since I've seen all the shows since the early 90s.

RPM is the only ranger series I never watched a single episode of, now I know I didn't miss anything except that Disney turned Go-Onger into, ironically, Terminator
they put every single episode/series of power rangers on netflix, and it was awesome watching the shows i grew up with up to SPACE...i refused to watch all the other series since their themes look silly and weird, and i initially thought negatively of RPM...but then i decided to give it a try.Even though its a childrens show, it managed to keep my attention and the atmosphere/characters were very realistic. They go really deep on each character and that is what kept my 23 year old mind hooked.
At 2:30 it's like there in a Rave battle.. and the baddies just dance around them when they Decide to turn there "RPM" powers on.. why wouldn't one of those mecha goons just slap that shit outta there Hands!? Why dance around them while there Goin to kick your ass in a few seconds?

@ConcealedJoker It isn't as if this weren't done before. A lot of the original footage for Power Rangers originally had one girl and 4 guys, such as the Zyuranger footage used in MMPR, in which the Yellow Ranger was a guy.

@Sw33tSm0k3 I'm well aware of PR's Sentai orgins. But, being the Sentai doesn't mean it's better then the PR adaption. Where Go-On was incredibly silly, but fun for those who enjoy it, RPM was The Dark Knight to it's 60's Batman. A really dark, horrorfying-when-you-think-about-it (Everyone outside of Cornith has been razed. Family, friends, pets, all of them.) Go-Onger simply isn't my cup of tea. Besides, quite a bit of the monster footage had to be reshot or heavily edited, iirc.
@mklgf22 People automatically assume that b/c Sentai is where PR gets its footage from, it means Sentai is better/ that the producers must pay tribute to Sentai for it to be a "good show". Thats not true. I like both Sentai & PR but if its a crappy season, thats just what it is, a crappy season. Im not going to take up for a season thats corny just b/c its the original. I think Sentai fans just watch PR just to compare & contrast. If thats the case, you're missing the main points of both shows.
rpm is different from those previous power rangers...and this is horrible...bcos it is not faithful to its source(GO-ONGER)...but disney based the show as their last seaon that's y they placed in into post apocalyptic era bcos....rpm is the last seaon of disney..and when the new season of 2011 will air...i hope they don't come back...
@juslas94 So what, you want a carbon copy/ exact replica of Go-onger? If you want sentai, watch sentai. Besides, I wouldn't want to copy Go-onger either. Go-onger was horrible. I can totally see why Disney didn't want to copy that garbage. Disney has screwed over some seasons, PROO/Boukenger and PRJF/Gekiranger comes to mind, but PRRPM was way better than it's counterpart Go-onger. Besides, the talking car thing with "comedic-failed" personalities is NOT cool.

@juslas94 Thats what Im saying; you dont have to have a "great" season just because you used a plot that was similar to the Sentai footage. RPM proved that. There are other PR seasons that didnt follow up the Sentai themes at all & were still great seasons (MMPR2 & MMPR3 are perfect examples). Saban didnt really start making carbon copy seasons until after the Zordon Era. There were MANY times they paid homage to the sentai. (When Scott borrowed his fathers RV called the Project Go-onger.)

Just because they existed in their own timeline and doesn't have any connections to previous seasons, does not mean that Saban couldn't bring them back if he wanted to. That still doesn't make the season bad. So what if Sentai does team-ups & Disney's PR didn't. That's not an accurate reason to say that it was bad. Also, team-ups stopped during Mystic Force, not Jungle Fury. They only brought back the other rangers in PROO because it was an anniversary season.

@juslas94 Dude think about what you're saying. If what you're saying is correct, theoretically, the SPD/Dino Thunder team up shouldn't have happened. But then again, this is PR. I'm pretty sure if Saban wanted to bring back RPM, the writers would come up with some crafty way of getting them back. Just b/c RPM isn't in the "Same universe" doesn't mean there can't be a team up. Besides, those team-ups in PRWF were b/c Tzachor is a Sentai fanboy & he wanted PR to be a carbon copy of Sentai.

@juslas94 You must've not watched PRWF. Then again, WF maybe ur favorite season but that's not the main focus of the conversation. Tzachor is NOTORIOUS for making PR carbon copies of Sentai. PRLS-PRWF are carbon copies of Sentai. Paying tribute is what they were doing during the Zordon era (by adding a few references to the Sentai but still telling their own story). Post Zordon era seasons are the Sentai with American actors. PRLS, not so much but PRTF & WF definitely.

The only thing about WF that could probably be "great" to a fan is because it used TOO MUCH of the Sentai instead of telling a story of its own and using some of it to compliment it. By saying that RPM was not on the same level as WF, you're right. It was better than WF.
@juslas94 Was that a bad thing? No. TF is one of my favorite seasons. TF is an example of when carbon copies are fine. WF is a perfect example of a fail carbon copy, showing that sometimes you need to do your own thing in order to do a successful show. That's why I find NOTHING wrong with how RPM was done. If it was done in the same style as Go-onger, PR would've had the worst final season EVER. BTW, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight & Ryuki were badass so they don't really fit into this conversation.

The one thing that I can appreciate about RPM is the fact that it was so different. It told a great storyline in a unique style & was very intense. Whats wrong with that? Nothing.

IMO, the fact that it was made differently was awesome. It showed me that you can make something in a completely different style and still be good, even better than seasons before it. I keep mentioning WF because its a carbon copy that #failed and it proves my point that you don't need make it just like the sentai to have a good season.

It doesn't make a different whether or not it's supposed to have canon, have references to previous seasons or follow a certain formula. (bad ass mother f***ing) seasons. MMPR was the first and made it's mark by being different. We knew nothing about Sentai when MMPR came out so there was no way for it to be compared. Question? Does PR have to have similarities to it's source to be considered a "true" PR season? That's what it sounds like you're saying.

It's quite sad that if you look at each season and you notice they follow the same exact formula. There's no room for surprise. Honestly, even though the Saban era is my favorite and some Disney seasons are in my favorites as well, I can't say that I was ever "surprised" because they all had the same structure.

@juslas94 I NEVER said Disney was good. LOL Disney was the worst thing that could've happened to PR. Out of 8 seasons, 4 were worth watching. Their final season is one of the best ones they produced, even though they had no intentions on making it as EPIC as it turned out. Just because Saban brought it back, I'm still kind of nervous about it's gonna turn out so Im gonna wait until I see the actual show. My gut feeling is telling me that it's not going to be as hot as everyone think it is.

The RPM discussion; Like you, I am glad that the Disney era is over and I'm glad that Saban took it back, although, I am thinking that they should've just left it alone. Ending at RPM was fine for me. Then again, I guess I'd be mad too if I saw my bread winning company was turned into trash before my very eyes. If that's the case, he shouldn't have sold it to begin with.

I love this series. The only thing I dislike about the entire series thus far is the theme song, it's aweful. If it had a better theme, it'd be Disney's masterpiece. Heck, if it weren't for the awesomeness of Dino Thunder, it probably would be. They actuelly gave it good story writing. Now that Saban has it back, it should end up awesome with the next series.
This is a dead series none of these new shows ever last but a few months then its over, the only one that lasted long was the original... They just need to give it up.
Here's the problem. This promo was just awesome. RPM started off great, following the same feel as this promo did. Then while still good, it dwindled down to the generic fragmented Disney crap. Am I saying RPM was crap, hell no, but the feel and excitement that started off in RPM lost it's punch maybe 7 or 8 episodes in at best.
Why does bandai of america ruin everything? are Japanese toys and storytlines not good enough to BOA and Disney? or do they just like toying with the fans of the original series?

Yes I have. The best season has to be MMPR seasons 1,2,3 also I found Zeo and trubo and in space good. They started to get bad after that. Everyone has their own opining.

The Japanese ver are really good. I recomend Dekaranger (which is SPD), Boukengers (Which is Opperation overdrive), Samuria Sentai Shinkengers is very good and the new seires that is out in japan now is very good
I grew up with Power Rangers. I remember the show when I was a little kid and out of all the shows I thought this one was probably one of the best. I loved how they made it completely different than all the other series. They didn't just throw in monsters and rangers they had a really deep story line to the show which made it really cool. If this was the last series I'm glad they ended it with an awesome series like this.

@kievon: They assumed that a mature season would turnoff the age group they seek to entertain. Since this is the last new season, ratings won't matter, so there's no harm in making it mature.
@kievon It is crazy because Disney could probably make a ton of money if they took PR to the next level. Kids are watching PG-13 rated action and fantasy movies, so RPM to its full potential would still keep the target kid demo happy while attracting that older, mature audience. Oh well.
@kievon Disney hired Eddie Guzelian who was given instructions to make this season different because it was the final one and he did one hell of a job. Then, he was fired halfway the season due to "creative differences"...

@ConcealedJoker It isn't as if this weren't done before. A lot of the original footage for Power Rangers originally had one girl and 4 guys, such as the Zyuranger footage used in MMPR, in which the Yellow Ranger was a guy.

@Sw33tSm0k3 I'm well aware of PR's Sentai orgins. But, being the Sentai doesn't mean it's better then the PR adaption. Where Go-On was incredibly silly, but fun for those who enjoy it, RPM was The Dark Knight to it's 60's Batman. A really dark, horrorfying-when-you-think-about-it (Everyone outside of Cornith has been razed. Family, friends, pets, all of them.) Go-Onger simply isn't my cup of tea. Besides, quite a bit of the monster footage had to be reshot or heavily edited, iirc.

@mklgf22 People automatically assume that b/c Sentai is where PR gets its footage from, it means Sentai is better/ that the producers must pay tribute to Sentai for it to be a "good show". Thats not true. I like both Sentai & PR but if its a crappy season, thats just what it is, a crappy season. Im not going to take up for a season thats corny just b/c its the original. I think Sentai fans just watch PR just to compare & contrast. If thats the case, you're missing the main points of both shows.

rpm is different from those previous power rangers...and this is horrible...bcos it is not faithful to its source(GO-ONGER)...but disney based the show as their last seaon that's y they placed in into post apocalyptic era bcos....rpm is the last seaon of disney..and when the new season of 2011 will air...i hope they don't come back...

I can totally see why Disney didn't want to copy that garbage. Disney has screwed over some seasons, PROO/Boukenger and PRJF/Gekiranger comes to mind, but PRRPM was way better than it's counterpart Go-onger. Besides, the talking car thing with "comedic-failed" personalities is NOT cool.

@juslas94 Thats what Im saying; you dont have to have a "great" season just because you used a plot that was similar to the Sentai footage. RPM proved that. There are other PR seasons that didnt follow up the Sentai themes at all & were still great seasons (MMPR2 & MMPR3 are perfect examples). Saban didnt really start making carbon copy seasons until after the Zordon Era. There were MANY times they paid homage to the sentai. (When Scott borrowed his fathers RV called the Project Go-onger.)

That still doesn't make the season bad. So what if Sentai does team-ups & Disney's PR didn't. That's not an accurate reason to say that it was bad. Also, team-ups stopped during Mystic Force, not Jungle Fury. They only brought back the other rangers in PROO because it was an anniversary season.

I'm pretty sure if Saban wanted to bring back RPM, the writers would come up with some crafty way of getting them back. Just b/c RPM isn't in the "Same universe" doesn't mean there can't be a team up. Besides, those team-ups in PRWF were b/c Tzachor is a Sentai fanboy & he wanted PR to be a carbon copy of Sentai.

@juslas94 You must've not watched PRWF. Then again, WF maybe ur favorite season but that's not the main focus of the conversation. Tzachor is NOTORIOUS for making PR carbon copies of Sentai. PRLS-PRWF are carbon copies of Sentai. Paying tribute is what they were doing during the Zordon era (by adding a few references to the Sentai but still telling their own story). Post Zordon era seasons are the Sentai with American actors. PRLS, not so much but PRTF & WF definitely.

In comparisons to the others, I'll put RPM on the list with them as far as telling a good story and having a high, intense energy. The only thing about WF that could probably be "great" to a fan is because it used TOO MUCH of the Sentai instead of telling a story of its own and using some of it to compliment it. By saying that RPM was not on the same level as WF, you're right. It was better than WF.

@juslas94 Was that a bad thing? No. TF is one of my favorite seasons. TF is an example of when carbon copies are fine. WF is a perfect example of a fail carbon copy, showing that sometimes you need to do your own thing in order to do a successful show. That's why I find NOTHING wrong with how RPM was done. If it was done in the same style as Go-onger, PR would've had the worst final season EVER. BTW, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight & Ryuki were badass so they don't really fit into this conversation.

The one thing that I can appreciate about RPM is the fact that it was so different. It told a great storyline in a unique style & was very intense. Whats wrong with that? Nothing.

It's quite sad that if you look at each season and you notice they follow the same exact formula. There's no room for surprise. Honestly, even though the Saban era is my favorite and some Disney seasons are in my favorites as well, I can't say that I was ever "surprised" because they all had the same structure.

@juslas94 I NEVER said Disney was good. LOL Disney was the worst thing that could've happened to PR. Out of 8 seasons, 4 were worth watching. Their final season is one of the best ones they produced, even though they had no intentions on making it as EPIC as it turned out. Just because Saban brought it back, I'm still kind of nervous about it's gonna turn out so Im gonna wait until I see the actual show. My gut feeling is telling me that it's not going to be as hot as everyone think it is.

The RPM discussion; Like you, I am glad that the Disney era is over and I'm glad that Saban took it back, although, I am thinking that they should've just left it alone. Ending at RPM was fine for me. Then again, I guess I'd be mad too if I saw my bread winning company was turned into trash before my very eyes. If that's the case, he shouldn't have sold it to begin with.

I love this series. The only thing I dislike about the entire series thus far is the theme song, it's aweful. If it had a better theme, it'd be Disney's masterpiece. Heck, if it weren't for the awesomeness of Dino Thunder, it probably would be. They actuelly gave it good story writing. Now that Saban has it back, it should end up awesome with the next series.

Here's the problem. This promo was just awesome. RPM started off great, following the same feel as this promo did. Then while still good, it dwindled down to the generic fragmented Disney crap. Am I saying RPM was crap, hell no, but the feel and excitement that started off in RPM lost it's punch maybe 7 or 8 episodes in at best.

The Japanese ver are really good. I recomend Dekaranger (which is SPD), Boukengers (Which is Opperation overdrive), Samuria Sentai Shinkengers is very good and the new seires that is out in japan now is very good

I grew up with Power Rangers. I remember the show when I was a little kid and out of all the shows I thought this one was probably one of the best. I loved how they made it completely different than all the other series. They didn't just throw in monsters and rangers they had a really deep story line to the show which made it really cool. If this was the last series I'm glad they ended it with an awesome series like this.
