2:10 you say that protein is a very balancing energy source...
Are you sure about that theory?.
Protein burns slowly because is the most dificult macronutrient to digest and the body burns a lot of energy (calories) to digest the proteins, so if you do a low calorie diet, high in protein, you lose weigh... isn't this correct?
@HughSirable This video is pretty old and I don't agree with it 100% anymore obviously, but it doesn't take more calories necessarily to burn protein, it's just slower. The way people lose weight on low carb diets is that the y switch into a ketosis state.
@adrygarcia That's a complete myth that I've addressed in videos already but will make a video about it anyways. Please don't post all in caps again on my channel.
He says that one of the types of aging damage could be related to protein:
Cancer-causing nuclear mutations/epimutations:
These are changes to the nuclear DNA (nDNA), the molecule that contains our genetic information, or to PROTEIN which bind to the nDNA. Certain mutations can lead to cancer, and, according to de Grey, non-cancerous mutations and epimutations do not contribute to aging within a normal lifespan, so cancer is the only endpoint of these types of damage that must be addressed.
Our cells are constantly breaking down PROTEINS and other molecules that are no longer useful or which can be harmful. Those molecules which can’t be digested simply accumulate as junk inside our cells. Atherosclerosis, macular degeneration and all kinds of neurodegenerative diseases (such as Alzheimer's disease) are associated with this problem.
Please..I beg of you..educate yourself with information that comes from research..and not the latest Vegan propaganda by people who watched too many Disney films with cute, talking animals and don't want to eat any now.
This website will illuminate your mind on why animal protein is not only good for you..it is THE reason humanity is here today..we are not here because we ate vegetables and fruits as primary nutrition. Here is the website:
@Nightbird I've been eating a primal based diet for awhile now, watch my latest videos. This one is a year old and yes we do change when things aren't working as best as they could be ;)
Well You know Your own body;) We're on the same page about the beans grains & tofu though. Everyone has different reactions to food as well, mine just always responds better to animal. I love that You do mostly milk & eggs, compassion is the ultimate!!!!!!!
@SecretsOfLongevity Thats the reason I don't usually eat it either ahhahahaha it messes with my Sattva, even eggs, but dairy on the other hand mmmmmmm very peaceful in my experience. More so than even fruit sometimes. I hear ya Zak, actually for me it's compassion as well, but yeah meat messes with the mind(at least mine) just like they say in Ayurveda.
@SecretsOfLongevity Wow, you're the 1st person I've heard mention that! I've only been vegan a yr and veggie a yr before and it's the 1st thing I noticed (plus feeling better during/after meals). My conscious contact with a higher power significantly rose in first couple mos, with definitely increased sensitivity in all aspects of life & meditation. It then hit plateau. Was wicked cool! I didn't expect it at all (who talks about such things?) but during it I knew I'd never go back to meat. Peace
@mynameismike101 Lower value?! An amino acid is an amino acid, there's no value attached to it except one imposed by a belief system. As for complete plant based protein, I have provided an extensive list here:
secrets-of-longevity-in-humans (dot) com/vegetarian-protein-sources (dot) html
@SecretsOfLongevity I dont find protein to be a stable fuel.Protein is not an efficient fuel.Raw fat is.As for building the body,I have done sprouts & algae, but nonplant sources r working better.Raw eggs dont build.Maybe u tried that for building.I'll take a look @ ur vegetarian protein source list later. Why use a belief system & not just listen to ur body?Your body is a messenger made for u.Its the vehicle that brings yur mind messages from earth. Why ignore it?No other system needed for health.
@PrimalLadyRosy Protein alone is not a stable fuel, no. However, when combined with a high plant based diet it is fantastic. Some of the long term leaders in raw food who are actually getting good results are eating a high protein, raw, low sugar, plant based diet. Lou Corona, Dr. Brian Clement, Dr. Cousens and Peter Ragnar are a few people I recommend looking into. All look a decade or two younger than they are. I have yet to see these results fro many other diet in the LONG run.
@SecretsOfLongevity "Lou Corona, Dr. Brian Clement, Dr. Cousens and Peter Ragnar are a few people I recommend looking into." I've seen several of them in person. Although I do NOT recommend sad diet, I've seen people who eat cooked meat etc who look better than them at older ages.
@PrimalLadyRosy I guess it comes down to perspective and what each of us perceives as healthy! Some people (often people's grandmas...) think you're not healthy unless you have a good amount of fat on you... Lol...
@SecretsOfLongevity I see health in the eyes, attitudes, I don't know about fat. A little can be healthy.
My grandmother never commented on my weight or anyone else's. I do see older people saying it's good to have some fat. Some people eat raw meat & even the tribes of long ago who did saw the animals with a fat layer under the skin as a healthier animal. There could be something to it that one learns after generations based on health.
@PrimalLadyRosy Yeah neither did I, it's sort of a stereotype thing though, the grandma or aunt pinching a cheek... lol. My thoughts around body fat are that it was useful and healthy to have some back when it was very realistic to go through periods of unintentional fasting that famines would occur or a lack of game and food. However now, the more body fat one has, the higher the estrogen levels will be which has been very throroughly linked to heart disease. Of course 0 body fat is a problem!
@PrimalLadyRosy I personally consume raw eggs for a bit of extra protein, but they are good fat and cholesterol "packets" too. The things I talk about aren't a belief system, it's what I myself and many other people get amazing results with. The messages my body gives me are that what I am doing is working! I highly recommend my 2 part series titled "Interview with Low Calorie Raw Vegan Bodybuilder Mark Handy" here on utube. He put on 50lbs of muscle mass largely with green juice and algae.
@SecretsOfLongevity "He put on 50lbs of muscle mass largely with green juice" interesting. Which juices? Kale? Just curious which were included and which excluded.
@PrimalLadyRosy Green juice made with sunflower and pea sprouts as well as cucumber and celery (the Hippocrates Institute juice). Don't get me wrong he was consuming other foods as well, approx 2,000 - 2,500 cals a day, but most people putting on mass his size need over 3,500 a day at least.
@SecretsOfLongevity "Green juice made with sunflower and pea sprouts as well as cucumber and celery" Thank you. I have people following me and liking things like this juice question and how to gain weight.
@SecretsOfLongevity "I know Aajonous is a fan of green juice" Yes.I know people who he recommends combinations 2 like celery juice & cucumber blended in.
Pea sprouts he could consider 2 b a starch&recommend eating them mostly w/fats4ease of digestion. It would depend on what their health conditions r & what time of the day2eat the mixture, ingredients etc
On his regimen older sprouts, longer 1s,might be more likely in a salad, but not often, salads being harder 2 digest&blocking digestion of mea
@PrimalLadyRosy Pea sprouts aren't a starch at all, they're sprouted for 7-10 days and you harvest them above the grain (pea) so it's simply a green. Kind of like how wheatgrass doesn't contain gluten...
Yeah, I always find listening to Aajonous interesting!
@SecretsOfLongevity So you haven't heard of the biological value of protein? i.e its quality? Animal proteins rank higher than plant proteins, no belief system there just facts.
@mynameismike101 I have but there are plenty of plant sources that equal to or superior to animal sources. Hemp seeds, algae like chlorella and spirullina, bee pollen, sunflower sprouts, sprouted nuts and seeds. Not to say one should never consume any animal products, but generally they contain complex proteins that use up more enzymatic activity in the body to break down as compared to a complete protein plant source.
@SecretsOfLongevity Dear Zak, In my experience it's animal protein that is far easier to break down and plants that are much more difficult(with the exception of wheatgrass juice). Do You personally(aside from all theory) get more energy & vitality from nuts, seeds, spirulina or any other vegetarian protein than You do from a steak or some milk, eggs?If You do I congratulate You! I've tried all protein sources and animal always seems much easier & full of vitality than plant based protein.
@SecretsOfLongevity It seems no accident that the most massive bodybuilders are flesh, eggs,or dairy eating people, because animal protein is easier to break down. It's the same reason carnivores can break down meat without chewing it.Even the Hunza's an some of the most long lived societies eat animal protein.I'm jus saying this cause I know Your all about longevity and I feel that one will use up their enzyme reserves much faster eating veggie source protein.Love to talk more if Your into it.
@Myflesh101 BTW I love Your videos and Your Sattvic, harmonious, peaceful, open-minded energy, just wanted to explore this one point of protein digestion with You, I always into learning more and seeing new perspectives. Namaste;)
@Myflesh101 The "strength and energy" one get's from animal foods is generally from the fat and how calorically dense the food is. Bodybuilders (and most athletes) need tons of calories and if you're vegan you're going to be needing to eat a larger volume of food. I eat eggs and drink raw milk and they're great foods and there's good complete protein in there. But plant food proteins are by far, more assimilable unless of course we're talking about beans, grains and tofu!
@Myflesh101 A lot of the bodybuilders who eat large amounts of animal foods develop joint problems from excess uric acid in their diet later on. There are a number of vegetarian and vegan bodybuilders who are doing very well. The only reason they're not the size of Ronnie Coleman is that they don't use roids! There's also much less of them and so you don't hear about them. Check out "Raw Natureboy" "Wade Lightheart" "Bill Pearl" and "Peter Ragnar" for some good high plant based diet examples.
@SecretsOfLongevity I think part of the reason meat eaters get acid problems is that they're not eating bone to balance out PH like an animal would do. Taking calcium with meat is a great way to change the acid issue. But I'm all for cutting meat consumption for compassion & a more Sattvic world!! Just saying I contest chlorella or sprouts won't build mass like meat can. Wade Lightheart and the raw Cab driver seem to be building good muscle with only veggie, true. Bill pearl does Eggs & dairy
@SecretsOfLongevity No I haven't tried Sunwarrier yet, I've done quite a bit of research but I need to try it to really know, thanks. I do conch shell, pearl powder, oyster, dragon bone etc, why are You not into those? Is it mercury? They're great for preventing nocturnal emissions and other Jing/Ojas sparing methods
@SecretsOfLongevity I went from 165 to 220 very quickly(four months, much of it muscle) on dairy, but yes 3000 or so calories a day, would have gained even faster on meat but again the meat is not the best for my mind. I stopped eating this way though for longevity and just got tired of eating all the time. No I didn't do steroids. Just working out intensely but not many sets. lots of enzymes too, I'm very big into enzymes, they spare Jing/Ojas since digestion is SUCH A BIG DEMAND ON VITALITY
The real "protein myth" is that people think we don't need that much protein. We need a lot of amino acids in order to regenerate at our highest potential!
Yeah I'm glad you mentioned the holstein (A1 cows). And I'm also glad you dissected the CHina Study a bit. .. too many people are taking that the wrong way imo. And I read your article, but I'd like you to consider that dietary cholesterol and saturated fats are absolutely not responsible for accelerating CVD - that's called the lipid hypothesis. may I suggest: the hyperlipid blog: look for his posts on butter. It's quite a debate, but I think we can be healthy with high and low cholesterol
I am going to stick with my free-range eggs because I feel they are a very good source of nutrition and try and find some Jersey raw dairy. I totally agree with you on the whole flesh eating thing.

Zak, I know that the protein in eggs is much better absorved if is cooked,
but in the case of meat, this happens also???, is there any proved benefit of consuming raw meat?
