@gta188199 just to continue what i was talking about. what those few canadian civvies did started a grassroots movement in canada that led to the renaming of the section of highway the fallen canadian soldiers come down from what it was to the highway of heros. where police and the fire services of canada are a part of. and large numbers of canadian civvies stand by the road to show there respect for what those fallen soldiers have done for the people of canada.

I think Australia and America made a great team in that war and showed what we could do together. My Grandad was a British Desert Rat medic in Africa during WW2. He always used to tell me how tough the Aussie contingent of soldiers were and how the Germans were terrified of them.
I've watched several raw videos of Aussie soldiers fighting and they always seem extremely professional. I don't think I can remember ever hearing any of the Aussie guys curse even. They just go in and do their job calmly and with outstanding professionalism. Just like in the Nam where they adopted guerilla tactics, walking off the main tracks and working those wedge shaped night ambush strategies just outside the villages, denying the VC rice and other supplies from the villages.

it makes me so damn proud to be an ausie reading all those comments, my uncle was in the adf 27yrs and he is 1 tough man, i grew up on the streets of kings cross from 14yrs old, i am pretty hard but he scares me. He retired as a warrent officer 2nd class in the artillary @ holdsworthy. Much respect to all allied combat personel all over the world but i believe we have the most feared and respected special forces units in the world. good luck to all who fighht for freedom for us all

I've watched several raw videos of Aussie soldiers fighting and they always seem extremely professional. I don't think I can remember ever hearing any of the Aussie guys curse even. They just go in and do their job calmly and with outstanding professionalism. Just like in the Nam where they adopted guerilla tactics, walking off the main tracks and working those wedge shaped night ambush strategies just outside the villages, denying the VC rice and other supplies from the villages.

kraziestlyecrew why should we bring our soldiers back? because we have lost 11 soldiers ill tell you the candians have lost a lot more soldiers than we have. and the media is not to be trusted when it comes to afganistan there have been battles where the taliban/al-qaeda have outnumbered western forces and yet the western forces hurt the taliban/al-qaeda harder than they hurt us

swiwi86 the canadians and americans don't like the death toll from afganistan like we don't like it ourselves. but you have to remember canada has the highway of heros where ordinary people pay there respects as the dead soldiers come buy in cars and the roads are clear of all traffic. and they would pinch themselves to remind them of who they are fighting in afganistan animals/barbarians

The reason the Australian Special forces went so well in Iraq and Afghanistan is that the SASR are able to patrol four up to 60 days without returning to base.

afganistan is more than one nations war remember 0n 9/11 people of other nations besides the usa got killed. and these taliban and al-qaeda animals want to get everyone in the world living under stone age laws. it's worth it going after them in afganistan rather than letting them get into a country and killing innocent people.
