Glen and Linda -- Terrific duet. Glen are you playing LowGCEA or LowDGBE on that Bari? You should have some more videos with Linda -- she sings wonderfully jazzy!
That was great Glen and fantastic vocals Linda! Had to check to see if that was just a uke ............ I could hear a big band swingin' in my head! Sometimes less is more ain't it! Super job! Simon (Scotland)
Ya know, Jeff West had asked me what I liked best about taking private lessons from you. I told him I was MOST amazed by how you had the trained ear to listen to a song and in a flash you offered an alternative and a better sounding chord. "How does he do that?"
Glen, your book offers quite a few jazz progressions. What is your thought process when you decide which progression goes with which song?
It's really about being familiar with the jazz progressions, patterns and chords so you can recognize where one might go. Or you can have a few choices to experiment with. Experience with experimenting a lot eventually makes choices easier. I guess studying privately or in a class is an effort to speed up the experience process and get wiser faster.
using 9-chords makes it instant jazz ;D nice performance!
