that really the wrong way to go. you should use and replace any item that will go off within a year so you should have 3 food storage places. short term, medium term and long term, the sort getting turned over weekly the medium 6 monthly and the long,, well you dont have to worry about that

I now have 12 cans of salmon, 15 cans of green beans and peas, and a 60-bowl supply of soup. I obviously need more than that. I keep looking for specials. :)

It's crazy. I've just checked my emergency food. ZERO of salmon cans left; I used to have 10... I have to buy lots of cans tomorrow and keep better track on this.

Pretty good. Didn't cost you too much either. Salmon is good for you too. Add some vitiamins, like multi's or at least vitiamin C. Tang is a good one. May want to add some cooking oil, toothpaste too. Make sure you keep rice and wheat away from BUGS, they have a way of getting in those bags.

We have 1.5 yrs of food now, we have canned 8 months of meat with my pressure canner in mason jars, so power outage won't be an issue. we have 20 cases of food from the LDS church Bishop's pantry,, we are not Mormon, but you can use it, great food prices for long term food! We have a Berkey Water filter and a 55 gakloon barrel of h20, we have Silver, differnt guns and LOTS of ammo, even have 20 lbs of Cocoa ( hersheys), join a Restaraunt Supply compan, too.. Just get a business license.

@dynatecme Thanks for all the good comments JJ. Yes on the MREs, five cases not shown and they will last. Peanut butter also there in plenty as well as apple cider vinegar. Coffee supplies, teas, etc and comfort food also. Multiple, multiple ways of cooking with different types of fuel. More videos to come. thanks again.

Here are a few more additional suggestions to consider if I may;

- Medicine eye dropper taped to bleach bottle.

- Mark date with permanent marker, most can goods are good for at least 5 years and more if stored cool & Dry as you show.

- Peanut butter

- Rolled oats

- Vegetable seeds so you can plant a garden, summer squash are fast heavy producers, winter squash will keep 'til Spring.

- Civilian MRE's last 10 years easily. (vs or with your Mt. House dehydrated)

Straight regular bleach (no scents or additives) for water purification and disinfecting

That is another Good tip Larry, often missed by some, Thanks.

Please note that liquid bleach does lose ~15% of it's strength per year so mark with date & stock rotation is important.

Standard dose is 16 drops bleach per gallon of water to purify.

If the bleach is 4 years old you would just double that dose and you're good.
