Lying about how much subsidy Quebecor sucks up from the taxpayer...the 23 million in taxpayer subsidies to start Toronto Suntv alone. And thats the tip of the iceberg. Funny how a billionaire like peladeau needs public funds to start a "news" channel dedicated to eliminating their competition in Quebec...using taxpayer money.

@curious007cur The term 'subsidized' is misleading, especially with companies that put many, many times more than that sum into the economy and government through taxes. To call it a bailout is absurd, and comparing it to a state-funded broadcaster is asinine. If you want to bitch, the blame rests entirely on the governance issuing the breaks, as it does in the case of the CBC. I also wouldn't make a habit of addressing celebrities in youtube comments, as it makes one look like a psycho.

I can't say why the government does this, but it's indefensible, and my argument is AGAINST government spending. The CBC IS OWNED BY THE CANADIAN PUBLIC, regardless of what asinine comparisons you make. Insults aside, you DID address Ezra in a youtube comment, and he IS a celebrity.
