Oscars have to be the only fish I've owned that I felt really attached to. I was able to play ball with him and pat him, i had to be careful though, they can bite :P
hi, i have a question. So i bought a 75 gallon tank, hoping to keep 1 Oscar, 1 blood parrot, 2 pleco's (they are big already) and 2 catfish that are about 6 inchs. I'm running s ehiem 2215 canister filter. Will that cause any problems?
@MrGgrad I'm not going to get into some silly childish argument with you. it's quite obvious by the way you write that you are just a youngster with a know it all attitude. It is plain to me and probably a lot of other people that you have probably never even had Oscars yourself. YouTube is full of people like you who trawl other people's videos and post rubbish trying to incite an argument.
@69LFD Blimey, you must be bored, dragging up two year old messages. I just looked at the video again and I'm even more shocked at how cramped all those Oscars are. I'm afraid the only retarded person around here is you if you honestly think that tank is big enough for all those Oscars. Why don't you have the bottle to go on our website, Oscarfishlover com and argue your point?
Nice tank! I'd jump on board and tell you that you have too many oscars, except they all look happy and healthy so you must be doing something right. I keep clown loaches with oscars successfully, but my tank is very large and the clowns have lots of hiding places to keep out of the way of my big guys :)
Very Beautiful! ! I would find such beautiful specimens like these to put in my tank. Mine are also pretty much just like that, would love to vary more types of oscars for my aquarium to remain as seu.Parabéns! ! ! ! ! !
can you give me a list of the optimum food(excluding feeder goldfish but wild minnows i can do) to feed me 2'' albino oscar. Ive had one before but i dont think he had the life yours had an i want to give my peaches(oscar) that life
truly beautiful, i've viewed this video about 5times now and its relaxing and interesting to watch, i cant imagine how rewarding it must be to actually be there.
Beautiful tank first off. Secondly you have way to many Oscars in that tank. I have a 135 US gallon aquarium with 2 Tiger Oscars, 5 clown loaches, 5 pictus catfish, 3 bala sharks and two angles. I have no problem with the over stock tank as my filtration is 3,560 gallons per hour. With water changes every other days. But with saying Os and CLs cannot go together is wrong. They make perfect tank mates.
Nice Oscar family, they loock like love each others, this is a amazing view, i saw some ones creating their Oscars do be some fight fishes and it's not so nice, your aqua have harmony i'm building a tank to create mine Oscars too
awesome oscars and tank! how often do you do water changes and what percentage? im subscibed to you! please post and update! oh and if you want please subscribe to me and check my video!
nice. How do you keep them from fighting. I have just 2 in my 200 gallon and had to put one in my hospital tank cause they kept fighting. Is it cause I got them seperate? They dont bother the other fish in the tank.
legal cara vc tem uma boa vaiação de oscars ai hein, eu to com 2 tigre snedo um deles albino, mutio bonitos tb mais tarde eu upo um video do meu aqua aqui!!
no its 55 gallons UK gallon per oscar, otherwise it's territorial problem AND mostly cleaning problem, most people that get an oscar can't keep up the weekly cleaning so oscar get longterm problem and dies
far to many oscars for a 160g tank 50 to 55g per oscar so really u need a 300 to 350g tank for 6 oscars, looks very good tho nice tank but to many oscars.
still LOVING these giys of your and the set up, my oscar is only a bubba at the moment, defo gonna try to create a set up like yours for him/her. For now hes got a 4x18x 15 inch aquarium, upgraded him last week. Hes about 3 inches at the moment. All water parameters are fine checked daily as are my other tanks.
I have a Q for u??? are those real plants??? how come they aint wrekced them lol
they have certain traits...some like to decorate their own tanks. But if they are in there good enough the plants won't move. Your oscar is going to be growing VERY fast depending on what you feed him. I had mine for about a month and they both outgrew the tank they were in and I had to transfer them. Oscars really aren't picky on their water as long as it's warm...and not to cold. If it's to cold they won't do ANYTHING lol.
Besides the different breeds, your tank is severally overstocked. If you wanted to raise six oscars together with a pleco you are looking at a minimum of 340 gallons or more. The rule of thumb is 1 oscar per 50 gallons of water due to waste they make plus territory. If you end up with a mated pair, you will run into problems.

Well I'm sorry to disagree with you but as long as the clown loach are big enough they make great Tankmates for Oscars. I've been keeping Oscars and CL together since 2005 and I've never had a problem. Your tank is only big enough for two Oscars, any experienced Oscar Fish keeper will tell you that.
The Oscars and clown Loach had been living in harmony for nearly 5 years now. Nowadays I don't mix fish from different parts of the world, hence my 300 gallon Amazon tank. Looking at your video, your fish are opening and closing their mouths quite a lot, they should not be doing this. Various factors would cause them to do this, low oxygen in the water, high nitrate, or may be toxins such as ammonia or nitrite present.
Unfortunately your tank is nowhere near big enough for the amount of Oscars you are keeping. Also, I suspect you are not doing your nitrate test properly. Your nitrate readings will be skyhigh after just a few days. I too have a 125 gallon (UK) tank. It contains two Oscars and four clown Loach. At the end of a seven-day period when water changes are carried out, the nitrate reading is often approaching 40 ppm.
I have the Oscar long, only experienced people to create a larger amount of Oscar in the same tank. For inexperienced people the correct was to maintain 4 Oscars.
Clown Loach and Oscars, is a disastrous combination.
@Fuca66 hey buddy, first of all get ur spelling correct, cant understand a word you jus said. secondly, YOUR TANK IS TOO SMALL. thats way to much fish, pen1962 is correct. ur not a proper oscar keeper, obviously. and thirdly, why is oscar an clown loach a disastrous combination? if it works, who are you to say diffrent?
@Penn1969 you're a sook! These fish look healthy! If nitrates are a problem, then do a change every 3-4 days! These Oscars have brilliant colours, the water looks clear, they don't seem too annoyed at each other, they move freely....sure, take one out to create space, but this is definitely NOT cruelty to animals....and to say it's 'no where near big enough' is greatly exaggerated IMO. I agree with Fuca66, Experience = Health......Face your fears, live your dreams bro!!

if a pair of oscars live in a 30 us gallon/120 litre tank , they will both grow 8-10inches
thats with weekly 1/4 water change, and you will have to take decorations out while they grow.
some people say its inhumane,if the fish are healthy looking/acting then your doing nothing inhumane
these fish get better diets and care then 1/6 of the human world population
hek,jab the fish with growth hormones and get underground oscar fighting matches going
OFC - oscar fighting championships lol

Besides the different breeds, your tank is severally overstocked. If you wanted to raise six oscars together with a pleco you are looking at a minimum of 340 gallons or more. you put 2 completely different kinds of biotopes in the same tank.
Cl need water fast, and Oscars need calm waters.
Oscars are from the Amazon, and Other brasilian rivers. and CL are from Sumatra/indonesia.
I think that you get a literature, for you know you should not combine CL with cichlids.
