  • I cried ...

  • what to say or think after this?....

Brava LA Nata tu es superbe...

  • By the way, I was just wondering, is this a coincidence that Handel composed this 'Bella' Aria to be sung by ''Bellezza"? Genius!!

  • OMG, I have to say, I came across this Aria by means of another and I have to say as 'TFreckle', one of the most (if not the most) beautiful Aria ever written. Yes.. Simple but yet A-M-A-Z-I-N-G-!!!! GENIUS Maestro Handel!!! Just Genius!!!!!! I hope there's no limit on yen Viewing....

  • Beautiful beyond words

  • hypnotizing...

  • This is probably one of the most beautiful arias every written by handel. And Dessays supernatural range perfects it, too bad the violin soloist is having an off-day...

  • One of the few singers that could be sing everything. By the french opera arias to Handel. Wonderful...

Thank you Natalie. You are the best soprano coloratura all over the world.

  • ...floating...

  • It's so amazing to think that after two hours of quite high-charged music the oratorio ends with this ravishing aria that really seems to come down from the sky... how can you get up and go home??

Handel in one of his most beautiful arias, and Dessay in one of her best Handel performances, perfect combination!

  • Flying

  • Won-der-ful. I just fall of my chair when I hear that heavenly sounds on 3.17 minutes..........Bravo Dessay!!! Tu restes.

  • I love the way she yawns... I realize that the tension in her body is very relieved

  • OMG that VOICE!!

    Absolutely beautiful.

    Absolutely.

  • Tu del Ciel ministro eletto

non vendrai più nel mio petto

    voglia infida, o vano ardor.

E se vissi ingrata a Dio,

    tu custode del cor mio

a lui porta il nuovo cor.

  • A perfect balance between Voice, Violin, Theorbo make this version a way above common place, the finest work of virtuosi.

  • I am very confused with this Oratorio performance. There is an another version out there with an entirely different melodic passages. That version by conductor Rinaldo Allessandrini sounds slower version of the melodic passage taken out from HWV 6 Aggripinas first area for Ottone. Whilst this version HWV46A by Emmanuelle Haim sound like the collections of an unfinished Sonate di Chiesa per Violini e tiorba based on similar passage lines taken from Corelli Opus5 which reaches beyound E

  • This version HWV46A by Emmanuelle Haim sound like the collections of an unfinished Sonate di Chiesa per Violini e tiorba based on similar passage lines taken from Corelli Opus5 which reaches beyound E altissima which makes the passage very dramatic and sad. If anyone knew what went on the melodic passage, please kindly respond.

  • This is the greatest thing I have ever heard. This woman has an angel voice. perfect, musical, just beautiful... If anyone would critizice her, would be just a jealous

for me she is the BEST by far!

  • she's great in everything she does. that performance is angelic

  • simply amazing, simply beautiful.... perfect interpretation and perfecet voice, great!

  • I must say, I really enjoyed listening to Natalie singing this. (i always do when she's singing)

  • i think "eletto" is with one T, even though it's ancient italian...

  • No, une "l" and double "t", not "elletto" but "eletto" (this word is the same in ancient and modern italian - I'm Italian!)

  • this is ancient italian!!!!!!

  • Heavenly!

  • wii no ma

  • What a voice!!Do you know why so many french singers use their hands and arms much more than singers from other places? (Daniels, Scholl, etc)

  • I dont know why, but if you sing, you dont sing only with voice but with body, voice is only the instrument to make a sound

  • In a recording situation, singers do whatever it takes to make them feel comfortable and 'in the moment'... very often this includes extravagant gestures that amount to conducting themselves. This is not limited to classical singers.

    Oh... and Dessay is sumblime.

  • Fantastic!

  • simplemente sublime

  • I want to be her so badly

    yay *-*

  • i love this aria she is sooo good and her technique is amazing i love her soo much i have this CD and i just cant stop listening to it

  • Thank you N. Dessay... you'll always be the best!

Gracias.

  • I loved it. Thank you.

  • Veramente bello!

  • bravissima

  • Breathtakingly beautiful. Haim, as conductor, the violinist and, of course, Dessay singing in that transcendentally magnificent voice. French baroque performance is just out of this world.

  • Can anyone tell me where I can find the score for the entire oratorio?

  • Gives me goosebumps

  • Meravigliosa e musicalissima la Dessay :)

  • Natalie Dessay is perfect for baroque repertoire

and Emanuelle Haim is just amazing i love the way she moves transported by music

  • increible!!

    Que preciosidad.

    Saludos

  • Divina...

  • This is a flow honey coming from her mouth and droping into our humble ears...

  • what a beatifull sentence!!

    that's corect!

  • Bravi, bravissima!!!

  • I can't believe my ears - this sooooooooooo beautiful!

  • thank you so much for this.

  • what a voice!

  • Perfect a singing virtuoso and thinkingMUSICAN who aspires always to act and use theater on stage.I doubt that Handel and early music need acting they never had it .ReadHandel& Solomon's letters.Gorgeous musicwith anc instruments

  • Haim's version is just as good an interpretation - although I believe NOBODY can ever recreate that moment of enlightenment when Corelli himself played the solo violin.

  • "sauf votre respect", what you call "this irritating operatic touch" is in fact a solid vocal technique!

  • Elegiaco...

  • perfection...

  • I dont understand why so many people in the opera world seem to hate her ... at least if you look at some of the comments here, you would think she couldnt sing a straight tone. love her

  • oh stop talking about hate! some people don´t like her but that´s all,it´s a matter of taste, there must be singers you dont like at all and surely you don´t hate them..

  • I just can't stop listening to this. Is this perfection?

  • Breathtaking beauty. BUt why is she gesturing with her hand??

  • For the rythm

  • and because she's an actress too...

  • I think it's more of a way to keep the line legato, keep from tensing up, actually getting into the music, etc.

  • Cave signove. Bacio la mano.

  • beautiful! dessay sings as an angel! I liked the violinist too.

  • Merci, c'est absolument sublime! Savez-vous comment trouver la partition?

  • merci thank you for this video so beauful

  • Incredible beautiful. Thank you!

  • how can anyone sing so beautifull and with such precision... as for her sense of humour, truly natural.

  • Absolutamente bello. Qué hermosa música y que privilegiada voz!!!!!

  • The woman sitting next to Haim is Laura Monica Pustilnik, the lute player, who was not needed in this number and served as a page turner!

  • Atleast she won;t feel left out! lol

  • Who is that woman next to Haim?

  • Ann Hallenberg, I think.

  • Beautiful is the only word needed.

  • o myyyyyy heavenly sound Handel would be in awe

  • Aaaaaah, Handel and Dessay, heaven here on earth. Thank you BaroqueFever!

  • Wow, Dessay's voice is beautiful.

  • Amazing

  • Thanks to BaroqueFever!! I saw this on EMI Classics too, then I bought the CDs. The Video is great, I love it.

  • where is Roberta Invernizzi when you need her?

  • Oddly enough, I stumbled on that video yesterday on EMI Classics' website (latest releases, Il Trionfo / Haïm), and I was in awe. What she does at the end (especially from 5:23 to 5:39 in one breath) is simply sublime. Her voice is like an instrument.
