  • where can i buy the tv out cable for pandora.

  • Is there a cable for the stereo line input, or is that something one would have to DIY?

  • Can you use other controllers via the USB ? I may get one but I would have to be able to use a USB Atari stick for my retro gaming when hooked up to the TV.

Thanks for your time , and the information, Sincerely Desode

  • 4:26 XDDDDDDDD

    Worst Game Ever

  • gameplayしてる人が非常に下手すぎる

  • Epic ET gameplay. :P

  • I wish you would have done web browsing and other high rez applications. Any tv can do 320x200, but what does the 800x480 look like on a regular tube tv?

  • Awesome Video!! Can't wait to play some games on the big screen as well as on the go... Portable N64 here I come :)

  • How well can the pandora handle video playback? Would watching DVD quality movies on TV be expecting too much?

  • Did anyone notice that the music in the racing game ripped off Paranoid by Black Sabbath?

Damn, Can't wait to play n64 games on the go :O

  • @MrLemonyFresh That was Rock n' Roll Racing, a game famous for it's early use of popular hard rock songs as soundtrack.

  • Im sick of waiting now...

  • Looks cool! Can't wait for mine!

I'd have though Evil Dragon would have been dropping it like its 50" Samsing LED :)

  • looks like i will be ordering a tv out cable

  • Awesome! I can't detect any lagging between the TV and Pandora at all!

  • I just jizzed myself a little there. I'm so excited for my Pandora D=

  • @EvilDragon1717 Is it possible to switch the screen off on the Pandora when in TV Out to conserve battery?

  • Hell yes, this is awesome!!!

I'm so glad I also ordered the tv-out cable :)

    Can't wait to get it.

  • In my experience, nearly all PAL TVs made in the last 15 years (certainly 10 years) , can do 60Hz. Couldn't you have just output PAL60 or even NTSC (as horrible as it is) to the TV?

  • @eyeball226: They can. But the camera only records 50Hz, which means, that the camera couldn't record it smoothly and properly :)

  • @EvilDragon1717

Ahh, yes. That makes sense, you'd get a horrible rolling picture if they were mismatched. Thanks for explaining that. Can the pandora output PAL60 then?

  • What kind of TV out is supported? RGB SCART, S-video or just composite?

  • @shaurz

I believe it's s-video. If it did do RGB scart, it'd need to have some kind of special connector on the Pandora, scarts are way too big. :P

  • @eyeball226 Hmm, well the end that plugs in to the Pandora could be a small round plug

  • @shaurz

Oh yes, but it'd have to be a nonstandard use of a many pinned plug. Something like a mini-DIN.

  • Awesome! would sure like to see some Video playback. Youtube and surfing would be nice. Also showing how to configure the Tvout and making the borders fit etc. Great vid!

  • Tis looks really cool, maybe I'll have to change my order to include this tv cable...

  • Great video ED. Thank you. I would love to see some more Playstation games if you get a chance.

  • Cool...get a couple bluetooth gamepads, and you have the ultimate console. :)

  • Awesome! However, I'm a bit disappointed to only have seen emulators (and one homebrew game at the end).

Would there be any chance to show off the xfce desktop, running Chromium (i'm very interested as to how surfing on the TV looks like), showing Quake 3 ingame (are the controls good by now? dualnub?) and as mentioned some PSX goodness?

Of course i can understand if you don't find the time but if you do please consider this as a request :)

  • Very Cool. All these vids help to keep us patient and excited for our Pandoras. Thumbs up ED.

  • awesome :)

  • Is that a CRT monitor? Did you connect via VGA?

  • Looks good. This was basically one of the selling features for me.

  • I'm concerned about aspect ratio. Games that should have been in 4:3 were either correct on the pandora and squished on the TV, or correct on the TV and stretched on the pandora.

  • @yamipegasus It's probably because ED had the "stretch" functionality enabled in all the emulators he used. Don't worry, normally you can keep the original aspect ratio, with some black borders on the screen for example.

  • @younghifi

    Exactly.

You can change the output size of the TV Out as well, so you can stretch or squeeze it on the TV.

Most people nowadays have 16:9 TVs, therefore, displaying it without any stretching is possible.

You could even have two different outputs on the LCD or on the TV if you want. At the moment I just cloned the screen which meant I needed to stretch it to fit :)

  • @EvilDragon1717

Wait, if you can have 2 different outputs on the TV and LCD, is the output always the same 800 by 480, or can it be changed to a different res.

  • Awesorino

  • nice video! altho i wanted to see playstation games too :( guess the sound for playstation emulation still sucks :S, cant wait for the second generation of Pandoras :D

  • @edstasic:

I'm doing some PSX within the next days when I find some time.

But I have to rip some of my CDs first :)

  • @EvilDragon1717 Awesome!

  • awesome!!

  • awesomeness.
