. . . I sort of danced around in the street like a slightly crazy person but I don't think any of it made the final cut. However, there are glimpses of me near the beginning in the bar. I have a goatee and big sideburns and I am wearing a double breasted navy suit jacket and smoking a cigarette. I love this band and this song and I love that I was in this video. - Mark Blanton
I am quite proud that the band asked me to appear in the video because of my well known punk rock n'rolla dancing around Seattle in the 90's. They knew there would be dancing so they figured that was right up my alley - plus I was also an actor. Unfortunately it was wet and freezing and the shoot seemed to go on forever over a 2-night period as I recall, and we were supposed to pair up for the dancing. I was too moody and uncomfortable to socialize so I sort of danced around in the street al
Almost forgot about this one. I actually shot this video. J&M Tavern in downtown Seattle and near the trolley stop at Occidental park. Great crew. Band was a pleasure to work with. The two folks playing the older couple were complete pro's...a rare thing with talent on music videos back in the day.
FREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL VIDEO! I'll never understand how a band with such talent as Walkabouts doesn't earn same sucess as its 'neighbors' (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden...) - they are born in the right region (Seattle), in the right time (80's going to 90's) and with an ability rare to make great songs... I'll never catch this mystery. [#sad] :\
There are many things that happen in anyone's life. I've actually had the pleasure of seeing this band in performance...in Seattle_ a few years back. My wife actually knows Carla and we were at a dinner party, where she very graciously played guitar_For my daughter and her friend to sing...some funny little song that was popular then. Thanks Carla. Great band. I have many of your tunes right here..beautiful job..people. May God bless _UR
This is probably my favorite Walks' song. I didn't know they made a video for it. I've only viewed their video for Ahead of the Storm on that Sub Pop compilation years ago. The video really seems to add emotional depth to the song, which is what a great video should do. Thanks so much!
Whoever you are blueheadflame, thank you so much for posting The Walkabouts on youtube. I've never seen a video of theirs before, I've never even seen The Walkabouts in any kind of video footage at all. Thank you, thank you, thank you..............
