if the USA had not interfered in their civil war in the first place the country would be united by now.

@OtagoMark Nope. Tungsten has the same weight as gold. Also, both are non-magnetic. The bars are large 400 oz bars. The thickness of Gold plating is thick enough that a testing stone will not eat through it. Only way to find out is by actually cutting it in half.
@OtagoMark interesting. and gold is diamagnetic...the opposite since it's got a negative attraction to magnetic fields. Wonder what kind of setup you would need to test this.
@mattyelle1 Not sure....strong magnet just out side range of compass.. then move suspect gold bar in between..the tungsten would take on a little magnetic field and move the compass maybe..or simply a rare earth magnet on a string, move the gold underneath and observe its behavior you could even help the magnetic field along a bit buy having a but horse shoe of iron with the magnet and gold in between the opening... this would concentrate the magetic field through the gold..dunno never tried
