One piece and Fairy Tail are very similar and should be compared with one another. As for who is the better story development? This isn't really subjective as it seems. One Piece has a better story line and character development.

Both are great manga/anime though, don't get me wrong. These 2 rank as the top in my list compared to other series in the same category.

Fairy tail take more from Rave master. In Natsu more of Haru personality than Luffy's...and other FT characters and story too they have personalities from Rave but slightly modified - They are like a mirror image of the opposite. Sorry for my Eng.

I like mashima`s idea of being a manga creator of magics and wizards and erzas and all I dont even watch one piece some people say gildarts and who was that guy..shanks..they say theyre similar...I wish i have an idea of being a manga creator I only copy some stories of FT in my own manga.....FT and Naruto...if that it..!! While I think Fairy Tail is pretty mediocre story wise I've gotta say at least the man puts effort into his drawings.And he probably doesn't need guidelines to draw Natsu anymore since he's drawn him thousands of times.

Fairy Tail was based from many Anime Including One Piece and many more thats why some of their ability and looks are is same to Other animes Like Makarov(Fairy Tail Master) can stretch his arm like Luffy's

Making an example of Rave and Fairy Tail, Hiro Mashima is a very promising mangaka when it comes to shonen manga. Like One Piece, the inspirations from the original Dragon Ball volumes work much better than they do for series like Naruto. Rave and Fairy Tail retain the same magical, adventurous feel that make them worthy spiritual successors, and both don't beat around the bush and drag themselves out.

His and Fairy Tail and One Piece look kinda alike because they both were assistants for Ruroni Kenshin. There was one more assistant for that manga, Hiroyuki Takei who drew Shaman King. All 4 of them ended up with a similar style as it was a long-running series.

There are many things that are similar, no doubt, but Fairy Tail still has it's own flavour.

I've also seen a lot of things from One Piece in Fairy Tail and I don't disagree that he's following a lot of OP but I've also seen other manga do it, not making it right but also not giving a bad opinion.

However, there are a lot of original scenes in FT.

@saskuewillbecomehoka I agree with you 100% . you do not see a guy who get transport sick in other anime . a guy character who like to strip , a magician who wear armour . op fight is to long and boring . if fairy tale start out at 1997 , today bleach will not be in the sannin category . sannin ( naruto , bleach and one piece ) . fairy tale is a genius creation . there is no episodes that make you feel bored .

Mainly because they look like them big deal there's lots and lots of animes that look like other popular characters but you don't ever hear them complaining. I mean look at Ash and Goku look kind of alike. The other day I saw an anime character on a show that just looked like the main character of Bakuman!

Oda's only good work is One Piece if you ask me his other work is kind of stupid I mean it's okay but nothing great. Besides Oda, has made 1 manga series how many has Mashima made? Oh yeah thats right about 5 not to mention he usually works on 2 at the same time and was able to make 3 chapters in one week he is the best.

My personal favorite mangaka's are in this order!!!! I''m also putting down facts of why.

1. Hiro Mashima: Amazing artist, story teller and can get 3 chapters done in one week.

2. Akira Toriyama: Just amazing love his art and characters.

3. Eiichiro Oda: Great story teller and artist he indeed has taken Akira's spot as the greatest.

4. Masashi Kishimoto: A good artist and story teller, has talent.

To me Hiro, is the best today at manga not from his style just his art plus his story telling. His manga's don't go on forever he knows when to stop them at the right time unlike Naruto and Bleach. Naruto, is still good but it's so long and I think Bleach, should of ended sometime ago because the story is completely dead. I'm not trying to rant on like some idiot i'm just throwing out my comment. One Piece, is great like always that's a manga that could go on forever just like Dragonball.
