There's so much of this show I like I just dont know where to start. I think Sam is lovely, he was a natural choice for MaryAnn, she de flowered him and he stayed in her thoughts. I liked the Mary Ann story from the start, she seemed so weirdly nice. Jason is great, handsome and funny. He's a character with depth and I like the way the story has been set up for season 2. what is wrong with Bill's accent? he plays it too interview with the vampire-esque. perhaps he needs to go eat someone else
I'm sorry but the hole "everything that exists imagened itself into existance" thing just sounded stupid to me. If something dose not exist then it can't imagen anything let alone itself. Most of the things you mentioned were ideas, witch can't imagen themselves. They have to be imagened by some one or something.
Hi whattafeeling88! Yes thanks for posting! I am getting more used to her - but did not see a huge shift this week. Exited to see what you think of the finale.
I can't believe I waited so long to watch the review - must have been Jesus. First things first, I did not like Sophie Ann..she was too cheesy in my opinion..playing Yahtzee...what the heck? If she's going to stay around, I hope she actually develops some real character. Next, loved your Eric, but what are they doing? He's been so boring the last 2 weeks..like he doesn't really care. I need real Eric back!!! And Jessica...I'd really love her to spend some time with Pam! One more week :(
Hi issieh1! Thank you! How are you!?! I agree and hope that they have greater character development as well! Hmm Jess and Pam would make a great pair :D Exited to hear what you thought of the finale!
I didn't care for the Queen's portrayal at all. Quite disappointed. Sophie Ann is a force that inspires fear and respect. Or should be.
Yes, I admit I'm a big fan of the books.
"Centuries of wisdom" wouldn't apply to the portayal of many of the vamps. I'd like to see more distancing of them from humans in that way. I'd also like to see the same color skin (white) on the hands as on the faces.
Sam's talk to the kids about their abandoning daddy was darling, I really liked his character there.
I liked your explanation of the "imaginated into being" way more than I did having it mentioned in the show. I feel like they keep adding to convolute the storyline. The finale will have to skim over the storylines to resolve everything.
I liked the Eric bit, flippant as he was. I feel his humor is being largely skipped in the show. And I agree, they are not making both vamps (B&E) equally lovable. Bill is not supposed to be a pure heart. Boring.
Thanks for commenting! I agree with you on the humor - I really miss it! And hope for more of it :) I agree on the queen and hope for something different in the coming season. Exited to see what you thought of the final ep. Thanks again for posting!
Hi usernr1337! Thanks thanks for commenting! I'll see what I can do about the wardrobe next time haha :)! Thanks again - hope to hear more form you soon!
Sorry for the double post, but I thought the "kids are yummy" comment from Eric was awesome. After the Godric thing, they needed to remind us that he's not human.
And look at is this way~ people eat lamb and veal... and we do worse things to children than drink their blood.
I'm sure Eric glamored them afterward, in any case hahaha
Loved the review, and 9:04-9:15 is especially amazing.
Hi loganberry30! Thanks! And Thanks for commenting! Good to hear from you :D! Hmmm, that's an interesting take on the performance - I'll keep that in mind in the coming episode...That's true on ppl doing far worse thatn that - and i agree we need to be reminded that they aren't human -
I just see that the show has a tendency to polarize and make their characters more and more two dimensional - I just don't want them doing that with one of the more dynamic characters on the show...and I guess in my mind he killed the kids haha didn't just take "sip". Now what does that say about me - uh oh :). Thank you very much for your comments - really enjoyed reading them. Hope to hear more from you in the future.
See, what I really loved about the queen is that she was very disarming. She's so powerful that she doesn't even have to be quietly threatening (as Eric tends to be).
Sophie-Anne seems innocent, superficial, and disinterested. That's exactly what's creepy. It's all an act; the amiability isn't real.
Ive been watching your review a couple weeks now and I have to say your makeup is wonderful and your skin looks so good all the time. Also your hair ,its so pretty, and oh I love the reviews too. They always leave me thinking more deeply about the show. Thanks for posting! Hope to see you next season!
Hi bluespoondoc! Thanks for watching and for commenting! And thank you for your very kind words :)! I really appreciate that - I hope you keep watching and to hear more from you soon!
Loved the review! Nice impressions, yet again! :-) I have to say that I enjoyed Eric and Queen Sophie Ann this week. It showed just how aloof they are and after all these years they really aren't that interested in human affairs sometimes. They have their own agendas. I did like the concept of imagining things into existence. Did vampires do the same? Hmmm.
Hi humanagony! Thanks! Cool - yes I can see your point about their disinterest in human affairs - I guess to me they were coming off as spoiled humans more than aloof Vampires but - who knows :)? And I can see your point. And yes I thought it made perfect sense that Vampires would have imagined themselves into existence :) Thanks again for posting! Hope to hear more from you soon!
Hi Midprod! Thanks! Haha yeah - i don' think they will actually end up being related - but I just thought it was funny. Thanks again! Talk to you soon!

Thanks for summing up the queen's philosophy for me. I couldn't hear her because my mind wouldn't shut up about the wooden delivery. Like you I had high hopes for ERW and then it felt like I had to sit through "Katie Holmes doing Judy Garland" all over again. Now, WHO thought this into existence???
Anyway, like you I really appreciate those snippets, same when Maryanne got all emotional about the Ecstasy concept.
Hi jaldhara6! Thanks! Thans for commenting! Yeah I really liked what the Queen was saying I just wasn't a fan of how she was saying it - you know? I hope that that will turn around next week and next season as well :)! Thanks again for watching and commenting! Hope to hear more from you in the future!
I love you and your reviews, Roth! You're just terrific.
My biggest disappointment with this episode was Tara. I couldn't believe she would put Sookie and Lafayette in mortal danger just to save Eggs, a guy she knew for a couple weeks.
Other than that I loved this episode, especially Sookie's proclamation to defeat Maryann. "I am gonna kick that bitch's evil ass outta my Gran's house, and then you are gonna shoot her!"
Thanks XavierAXB! I really appreciate that! Yes her behavior seemed really out of bounds but her behavior this whole season really has not made much sense to me to be honest. Yep I love to see Sookie with spunk hope to see more of it! Thanks gain for commenting! Looking forward to the season finale and hearing what you think of it!
1. Couldn't agree more re: Queen. Loved her glam look & dayroom. But given her backstory, I expected her to be deep, serious w/a tough exterior due to longevity/ascent to power, but w/ a private soft spot (e.g. Hadley). Another blogger likened ERW's portrayal to Paris Hilton (rich/spoiled/ bored). Cool thing is how you picked up on the philosophical content of her monologues; too bad all her eye rolling diminished the impact of her "wisdom."
Thanks lsgshelton! Thanks for commenting! Yeah this weeks performance was a disappointment - but I think she has a lot of potential in his role and can definitely turn it around. I know loads of ppl liked the Eric bit this week - just wasn't working for me :) Bill hmm, well not sure depends on where the show wants to take the story in the coming season. :) Looking forward to the finale and hearing what everyone thinks of it.
2. I found Eric great/funny, sweet to the kids as much as his bravado would allow. G'nite tiny humans/wink before take off... loved it! (Btw, no bias here. Im still on Team Bill.)
3. Your analysis of Lettie Mae being bound by her narcissism is spot on!
4. Bill was not straight w/ Hadley; perhaps he's not being straight w/ Sookie either? (foreshadowing?) Will he convey Hadley's msg to Sookie once things calm down?
Hola Roth...as always Im loving your reviews...and suprisingly I dont have too much to say. I strongly agree with your assement of Miss woods, from the book the queen is way more muted and doesnt like to play games. The only thing is that I feel like throughout this season they have shown eric to be a very developed character i.e. his love of godric...so I appreciate eric showing his bad side. Plus, he is sexy as hell doing it, and I admit Im liking the suit. So, keep being awesome and ttyl :)
Hey theatreroxalox!!! Thanks! Thanks for posting :D! Haha yeah a lo of ppl are liking that suit :) It wasn't so much he suit for me as the lounging ;D But I do love him and he is one of my favorite characters and I absolutely loved the mussed up hair at the end :D Thanks again for posting! Hope to hear more from ya :)!
I believe that Sunday's episode was more of a social commentary regarding religion. It showed how people can get easily obsess with their beliefs like Maryann; they'll do anything to please their "gods." I was really annoyed with Tara going back to save Eggs, but I guess is was part of the whole drama! I have to agree with you about, I was expecting more of Evan Rachel Wood. Finally, I love your review! It was hularious and imformative! Thankd for posting them.
Hi Stephaniavellaneda! Thank you! I agree there did seem to be that element of commentary happening in this episode - I have also seen that as a theme throughout this season. For ERW I hope the character will develop and more will come out of her this week and in the coming season. I think the potential is there. Thanks again for commenting - looking forward to your thoughts this coming week!
Hi BabysBottom! Thanks for commenting! This is what I am telling people I think about the egg - think it has something to do with "the God who comes" perhaps that is where he is "gestating" and she hopes he will appear from - though he hasn't yet - I think they are going to change the focus for the sacrifice at the last minute. I think they are going to try and sacrifice someone other than Sam.
Looking forward to hearing what you think this coming week :)!
I totally agree with you! I was thinking it was some kinda supernatural beast that she thinks is a god or something lol. But sookie all dressed up like a toga party and crying? hmmmm.
Ok so I have to add one more thing. I was amazed at how incredibly stupid everyone was in this episode. Sookie going to the house & leaving Lafayette alone, Lettie Mae (enough said), Tara going back to the house. It was frustrating that they weren't using their heads. Tara's speech alone about loving Eggs was annoying b/c it didnt even make sense. I would say that everyone sacrifices for Sookie's love, not the other way around. I just hope next week's episode redeems this week's.
Hi The Mariatortilla1! Thank You! Yeah I am not loving her either - hoping that will turn around. Thanks again for commenting!
YES so happy that you mentioned Jason talking about Sam turning into a chicken! Loved your impression of the Queen and Eric. THANK YOU i have no idea why they are making Eric into a villain! Eric trying to fix his hair after flying was great. Lettie May is really stupid, sookie hitting her in the head was great! LOL Eggs laying eggs. But i think that the egg is definitely something about the sacrifice and the God that Maryann wants.
Hi akjcbm! Thanks! Thanks for commenting! Yes I really don't want it to turn into some kind of "good guy" vs "bad guy" thing. I agree I think it has something to do with the sacrifice - and I think that the focus for the sacrifice will change this week - thanks again! Looking forward to hearing what you think next week!
...6.I always wondered if vampires could fly in the Harris novels and if they would bring that to the show. I wasn't sure if they would have wings like in Lidqvist's novel, or do they just fly like Eric did- and I really liked how they showed him flying!
Hi bambabish! Thank you! That's really great to hear! The Egg - well I think it has something to do with "the God who comes" perhaps that is where he is "gestating" and she hopes he will appear from - though he hasn't yet - I think they are going to change the focus for the sacrifice at the last minute - thanks again! Looking forward to next week!
Hi InVisiBLeQT! Thanks for posting! Yes i agree was hoping for a bit more - and hmm, yes it's possible that she already knows and that he is just messing with him - that would be a fun twist :) And yes she really is a horrible woman - bu I like that they keep the character consistent that way. Thanks again for commenting - looking forward to hearing what you think this coming week!
I love ur review as always! And ur skit of the carefree vampire is hilarious! It seems everytime Eric comes up with something to get closer to Sookie Bill just comes with something to use against him I mean come on! I hope Maryann dies next episode. And I was kinda hoping that when Tara didn't turn immediately all black eyed when Maryann did her shaking bit routine I was hoping that it was because of somethin Sookie did, but then Maryann puched her and it was like what Sookie did was useless!
Thanks pedramcq! Thanks! Yeah I think he finale will bring us the end of this storyline as well as set up some things for next season like it did last year - the end to Maryann I think :)! Thanks again for posting! looking forward to hearing what you think this coming week!
Also about the Queen, I think the reason she acted that way, u know like arrogant and not regal is because after all those years she's lived she doesn't care about keeping up appearances is because she is powerful. And back then people had to keep up appearances in order to keep their position of power, but here she can just enforce it. Also i'd like to know what you thin about what I said before as to why Maryann's shaking routine didn't turn Tara black-eyed, but punching her did?
Thank you for your fair and unbiased review (another online review is so pro Eric!). I found the Queen to be overly spoilt but think she could be dangerous if pushed. T thought the ep funny . Love the old Bill back - soooo sexy!!! Typical AB ep - answered some and put back tons more questions! Bill turning up at Sams! Obviously they will pair up to help defeat MA! Did you just love that Sookie carried her handbag into the house?? Us girls!! Can't do without our handbags!
Hi lizzietrue! Thanks for commenting! Yes I have one of those "magic mom bags" with everything in it that I bring everywhere :)! Yes hoping that they turn her character around to something fiercer for sure! Looking forward to next weeks finale and hearing what everyone thinks of it :)!
i dont think sophiann had to "command" bill to do anything because she is queen, and if she wanted him to stay she coud make him...so she just kinda asks with a little persuasion :)
Thanks Jen :)! Yeah that makes sense - I guess I just didn't get the sense that she is quite as old as she is meant to be. But hopefully more of that will come out in the eps to come :)! Thanks again for posting!
Hi! Cool! Thanks for posting! I am a huge fan of this character-if you've seen any of the other vlogs you'll see that. Love him. I just don't want them to turn him into a black and white bad guy - that's what I wasn't happy with this week - that's not him and it's not as interesting to watch. BUT he is a fantastic actor for sure and I can definitely see where you liked that scene : Thanks again for posting! Hope to hear more from you next week! :D
ERW's character is supposed to be 2000 years old. Not centuries. She couldn't be the Queen by being that young. She has to be more powerful than her Sherrifs or they'd kill her. And Eric is 1000.
she's 1100 approx. in the series and books. I thought she was younger too. I had to go back to the book and read an article about the television version of her character. Hope you feel better about her ruling over eric, though I'd bet on him any day (if Andre was away).
Your right - I did say centuries - I meant accumulated, but yes I made it sound like she was younger than she is. Thanks again for posting. Love this character - just think there can be a bit more - and perhaps they will bring that in in the episode and season to come :)
Hi Thanks MissEliaCV! Thanks for commenting! Yes, I agree but I hope that that will turn around in the coming episode and season! Thanks again for commenting! Hope to hear more from you soon!
I miss the Jason from first season. Somewhat serious with the v drug addiction, psycho girlfriend, kidnapping, conflicts with Sookie. With a small dose of humor. This season Jason is just all comedy. It's like he's lost some of his character depth.
Spot on about Sophie Ann. Isabel, the new Texas Vampire Sheriff, would be more believable as the Louisiana vampire queen than Sophie Ann. She needed turn up the icy-ness and aggressiveness of the character.
Thanks Regimo! Yes I loved the Jason/Amy storyline from last season - was one of my favorite ones. It would be good if they can bring some of those elements back into his story and he show. Yes, Isabel would have been great! But I think she can still turn it around :) Thanks again and thanks fo posting! Looking forward to hearing what you think of the final episode!
I agree about Evan Rachel Woods performance it to me wasn't good at all she felt VERY theatrical and I understand the character may be a sophisticated rich vampire but I highly doubt they would act like that. It was just to over the top and didn't really work for me. Other than that I liked the episode Ex Detective Bellefleur has definitely grown to be one of my least favorite characters to one of my. I also like the way they show maryannes fury effect bon temp
HI Butmunch! Thanks for commenting. Yeah, I am not sure where they are trying to take her character - it did seem a bit more like a boarding school girl/Great Gatsby character this week - but I think she has the potential to be great in this role so I hope we see some of that potential come to fruition in the weeks to come! K - Looking forward to the finale and hearing what ya think of it!
I also think that Eric was just messing around with those kids.

LOL "Eggs laid and egg?" haha another great review! but really, what do you thing the egg might be?!
BabysBottom 2 years ago

This is what I am telling people I think about the egg - think it has something to do with "the God who comes" perhaps that is where he is "gestating" and she hopes he will appear from - though he hasn't yet - I think they are going to change the focus for the sacrifice at the last minute. OMG, you almost made me choke on my dinner with your role playing! Fantastic!
I liked Bill again this episode. You're right about more layers
I'm hoping the queen will become more likable (like Jessica did) so I'm going to wait & see on her. Right now, not loving her.
Great analysis on Lettie Mae! I didn't really look at it that but totally makes sense.
I can't believe you don't have a theory on the egg!
Your review is awesome as always & way more entertaining then the episode itself!

PS and yes - they were all acting a couple sandwiches short of a picnic this week :)
Thanks Again!

Another Great review!
akjcbm 2 years ago 2
Hi akjcbm!

7. Love your reviews! :)

LOL damn! your reviews are just about as fun to watch as the show itself.
I'm gonna echo another comment: I wanna know more of what you think about the egg. I didn't see that coming at all!
bamabish 2 years ago 2
Hi bambabish! Thank you! That's really great to hear! The Egg - well I think it has something to do with "the God who comes" perhaps that is where he is "gestating" and she hopes he will appear from - though he hasn't yet - I think they are going to change the focus for the sacrifice at the last minute - thanks again! Looking forward to next week!

1.This episode was ok. I expected more though for it there to be only one more episode left in the season.
2.The egg thing was like WTF? I can't wait to see how that's explained.
3.Since they cut episode 10 so damn short maybe they can make up for it with the last one.
4. I think Eric wants Bill to think he's holding something over his head but the queen already knows about the V sales anyway.
5. I wanted to punch Lettie Mae through the screen for letting Tara go!
InVisiBLeQT 2 years ago 3

And I was kinda hoping that when Tara didn't turn immediately all black eyed when Maryann did her shaking bit routine I was hoping that it was because of somethin Sookie did, but then Maryann puched her and it was like what Sookie did was useless!
pedramcq 2 years ago 2
Thanks pedramcq! Thanks! Yeah I think he finale will bring us the end of this storyline as well as set up some things for next season like it did last year - the end to Maryann I think :)! Thanks again for posting! looking forward to hearing what you think this coming week!

Also about the Queen, I think the reason she acted that way, u know like arrogant and not regal is because after all those years she's lived she doesn't care about keeping up appearances is because she is powerful. And back then people had to keep up appearances in order to keep their position of power, but here she can just enforce it. Also i'd like to know what you thin about what I said before as to why Maryann's shaking routine didn't turn Tara black-eyed, but punching her did?
pedramcq 2 years ago

Thanks!

i dont think sophiann had to "command" bill to do anything because she is queen, and if she wanted him to stay she coud make him...so she just kinda asks with a little persuasion :)
JenPolen 2 years ago
Thanks Jen :)! Yeah that makes sense - I guess I just didn't get the sense that she is quite as old as she is meant to be. But hopefully more of that will come out in the eps to come :)! Thanks again for posting!

truebloodsexyfan 2 years ago 2
Hi!

LilNYMama 2 years ago
she's 1100 approx. in the series and books. I thought she was younger too. I had to go back to the book and read an article about the television version of her character. Hope you feel better about her ruling over eric, though I'd bet on him any day (if Andre was away).
Naa45702 2 years ago 2
Hi! Thanks for posting!
Your right - I did say centuries - I meant accumulated, but yes I made it sound like she was younger than she is. Thanks again for posting. Love this character - just think there can be a bit more - and perhaps they will bring that in in the episode and season to come :)

Episode was ok, and Awesome review!
regemo 2 years ago

I also like the way they show maryannes fury effect bon temp
butmunch34 2 years ago 3
HI Butmunch! Thanks for commenting. Yeah, I am not sure where they are trying to take her character - it did seem a bit more like a boarding school girl/Great Gatsby character this week - but I think she has the potential to be great in this role so I hope we see some of that potential come to fruition in the weeks to come! K - Looking forward to the finale and hearing what ya think of it!
