I miss this game so much online. I wish they would put the server back up. I'd break out the ol' Dragon Armor/Chrome Death Razor Combo just like the good days ^_^.

I remember spamming HBG's on Fatalis, bombing Lao Shan to death, flashing Rathalos out of the sky, chopping off Rathian's tail and jumping for joy every time I got a Plate.

PLEASE CAPCOM. PUT THE SERVER BACK UP. RE-RELEASE THE ORIGINAL MH FOR PS3 OR SOMETHING.

The "one with the thunder" is Eager Cleaver, which needs (in mhf) 35 machalite ore, 50 earth crystal, and 5 electro sac. it evolves from the iron katana set. as for it being only online, im unsure of it, since i never played the original that much. I hope this helps nonetheless.

Your right about that, and to answer your question it's tri. Basically it's the current version of frontier, but without all of the updates, or the capabilities. At least that's the current news. No news on the release date.

It's too bad now those little bastards at capcom took it off O and I email a complaint asking them why they cancelled it when its the only online monster hunter for USA. They said it was there online thing that they had to stop not themselves. All I can say is that I only played online once and I loved it and that those bastards at capcom canceled the online. if u want to play it online u have to get a network adaptor but if u have a ps2 slimline then its already built in.then get a ethernet cable and connect it to your ps2 and your pc modem . then u will need access disc and acces code.then a usb keyboard to connect to your ps2 usb port.then create a userame on the monster hunter town then your set and play away!!u can get these stuff from ebay.

Wow, I guess everyone here is in the skill-deprived department. 3 good lancers with either Black Dragon Spear, Undertaker, or Ogre Tusk with one gunner who uses either Titan Launcher or Vor Cannon and has max supply of clust is all you need. If your team is experienced then you have to actually let him walk at a certain time or else he doesn't even make it to the end...that is a tactic for killing him, not 3 great swords with a gunner using pierce lvl 1...

Grayburg javelin works as well. And, for a regular Lao, it only takes one man with a Black Dragon Spear to drive him away. It takes two with BDS' to kill him.

have a professional hammer user with a dragon hammer to be the legger.

2 lancer with bds for head poking

1 gunner with lots of explosives and varios ammo

Great swords aren't suited for lao's head, you should have atleast 2 lancers, a GS and a gunner, The GS hits his back legs for the trip, the lancers just keep goin at his head, and the gunner takes care of tha plates.
