Dude, it's an alien language. How do you even know if they have the concept of "yes"? The Romans even didn't have this. "Wanna come with me?" "I wanna come with you". And that's just human language. Imagine the possibilities, dude.

I've personally always interpreted is as some kind of worship-word, like hallelujah or hail. It's used sometimes when the translation "Yes" would make no sense at all.

"Ia Dagon, ia Hydra, ia Cthulhu," for example. Hail would be perfect here. Yes would be strange.
