Hey I have a question about this whole refly thing, does he leave fly mode on for the whole time while he's in the air, and if so, how does he keep moving up? I thought fly mode didn't last that long
PauLWaFFleZ - No, he does not leave fly mode on for the entire refly combo. Refly is peformed be executing the flight command twice in a row in between attacks. You can see him to the flight motion 2x in a row in between each 3 hit rep of the refly Infinite. The idea is that the character leaves flight mode for a split second and then enters flight mode again, and attacks right away.
t3kn0l0v3r - Iron Man requires a lot of precise execution to be successful. I don't know that he is an ideal starting character for a player just getting into god tier. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to learn him though. The timing for the basic Infinite (4 hit normal jump) is about the same for Iron Man as it is for War Machine.
@BrettH123 thanks brett, i can do most god tier air combos but infinites are pretty hard for me, also i noticed his controller sounds different, the buttons sound very loud and easy to press, i have a bad joystick and was wondering if it really makes a difference? sometimes i do inputs and they dont come out or come out too late unless i hit the buttons really hard :/
t3kn0l0v3r - The joystick in this video is a MAS stick and I think they are the best kind of joystick to execute combos in MvC2. The type of joystick makes a major difference, though personal preference matters a lot too.
actually im practicing the un-fly to infinite combo, for me its a little hard but i know how to do it. plus the second un-fly without the H.p and that is really dificult for me.
kradofbugs - Yes, War Machine's airdash is faster than Iron Man's airdash. Josh 360 confirmed that is true. Try playing as WM, and you will see he is faster than IM in the air.
marvelvsdenis - Yeah right, you would never execute these combos yourself. Since you think you are godlike. Go ahead and record a video in which you perform the same full combos Josh does in this video. I am sure you will not even make a video.
PauLWaFFleZ - Yes, you are correct about that. I get annoyed at the trolling most times. lately though I have been just blocking certain people and deleting their comments.
@murdamook504 the other stuff you posted, okay you are obviously an american. globally, KOF is huge and people have been playing it for 17 years now. maybe not in your PARTICULAR country. but the point isshort-term popularity has nothing to do with how good a game is. and i see new players win sf4 all the time, but why do you say "if AE is so easy.." when i never said "AE is easy"?? you aren't reading my posts at all. i have never played sf4. AE to me still means "anniversary edition"
good stuff brett. It's good that people like you keep this game alive. I try to learn the air to ground infinite but the inputs are quite difficult, even more if under pressure lol. At least I can hear the rhthym of the inputs now. thanks a lot.
TheBlackdragon936 - No, this is a competition MAS stick. I also have a P360 MAS stick though. There really is no "better" joystick. It is all a matter of personal preference.
yo UGH J360 aka 1touchkill haven't heard from you in a minute. you and illan are the reasons i played iron man in mvc2. i hate to say this but.... tony stark needs you in mvc3 :(
Another thing is, you see how in mvc2 with all the GOOD fighters, you have to make them good. This guys IM is deadly because what he knows. In mvc3 all you need a basic BnB combo, hell EVERYONE is good with the top fighters on that game
@SpyTF2Medic What i mean is, for example lets take magneto. I know the rom inf setups, resets, gaurd breaks yada yada right? OK your average gamer, wouldnt just come along and win and beat people like i would because i know better stuff. What i know with mag is the reason he is toptier. Simply put if u dont practice u dont win(at a high level) in mvc3 its completely flipped. You dont need anything advanced just some simple stuff, or just use dark phoenix. lets not 4get xfactor the life saver
@murdamook504 so you telling me if i pick my wolverine(who is top-tier) i couldnt win by catching my someone with that brain dead bnb combo. Or i could just pick phoenix right? Maybe i should practice some combos? Did you read what i posted? how is that ignorance? its the truth. Mvc3 requires a hell of a lot less skill than mvc2 simply put. Your just a upset fanboy. Wow combofiends yea the only non xfactor on u will see. thats ur example? look at any amazing skillful comback justin pulled off.
@SnMRudolph You act like that combo is an instant kill. I've been hit with it plenty of times and won. I've beaten plenty of people without even popping X-Factor. If anyone sounds butthurt, it's you. And this is coming from someone that enjoys both 2 and 3.
Also, anyone whining about how combos take skill are the main ones that would be salty after a loss, no matter if it was from a refly infinite or a BnB.
@murdamook504 Just like i thought. A brainless fanboy. Can you read at all. Who cares if its an instant kill. Im saying the same thing over and over but u keep trying to sway the argument into diffrent ways. Im gonna make this this as pre school as i can for you. What im saying is in mvc2 you have to work to make yourself and the people you play with good. This video is a perfect example of, if i practice and you dont im gonna be better. All that is out the window in mvc3. Thats a Fact!. By By
@SnMRudolph Dude, that's with ANY game. If that's the case, go pick up MVC3 right now and immediately do Magneto's ROM or Hyper Grav loops. Or Doom's Buktooth loop. Or any C. Viper or Dante combo. Nobody is denying that Wolverine is braindead. But that's the thing......that's JUST Wolverine, which is why he's being nerfed to hell in the upgrade.
The point is, you're talking out of your ass. ANY combo takes work and practice. It's ok if you lose to people in 3. You just need to get better,
@murdamook504 I had ended this arguement a while back bu uhhh a fuckin 8 year old can beat the shit out of fucking pros at evo by using one one button with hulk and using his super armor. He was messing up combos and everything, but he still was winning against people who waaaay better then me or you. im not hating on the 8 year old but THAT GAME IS FUCKING NOOBY, AND SCRUBBY. LMAO a 8 yr old? the will neeeeeeeeeeeever ever happen in mvc2. Evver. To much practicing and skilling By By again.
@BrettH123 Wow i rushed that comment and my grammer is bad, but that 8 year old is the perfect example. Did anyone see the matches? Im not gonna lie im rooting for him. I dont think he make a good respone for that other than saying that i suck or im just mad, which yea he is right cuz i suck at mvc3. i should suck since i dont play it.
murdamook504 - There were many entrants in MvC3 though. So even though he did not get top 8, he beat a lot of mid level players with a simple tactic. There was never a case in MvC2 tournament history where an 8 year old beat a lot of mid level players. Just because the kid did not beat the best of the best, it does not mean his strategy was not effective. MvC2 has made Evo hype over the past 11 years. It was only dropped to get in the newer players who want to do easier combos.
@BrettH123 Brett, if you saw those videos, you know full well that none of those players were mid-level. They were horrible. The kid found a strategy, and people kept falling for it. That says nothing about the game. That speaks to the other players' skill level, or lack thereof. People running into Hulk's standing H is a basic online tactic that people got around after a week.
MVC2 got dropped because the majority of the community got sick of it. Deal with it.
murdamook504 - MvC2 only got dropped because Capcom realized it is not as profitable as MvC3. MvC3 is far more accessible than MvC2. That does not make MvC3 a superior game though. No matter what you type, you can't disprove the fact that there was never a time when an 8 year old beat many players in a major MvC2 tournament. Combos are easier to do in MvC3, than in MvC2. Many people still love to play MvC2. Just because you don't like it as much as MvC3, does not mean it's not a great game.
@BrettH123 I never said it was. But being LESS accessible doesn't make MVC2 any more superior, either. Far less people enjoy MVC2 because of how high the learning curve is. The only people that think harder execution requirements make a game better are elitists, plain and simple. And so what if an 8 year old was beating people in pools? He lost when he went up against competent players, just like any good game. Anybody can sign up for Evo. Does that put them at pro status? Of course not.
@theycallmejpj Being an elitist keeps the community from growing. It intimidates newer players from getting into the game. Harder execution requirements don't really do anything but create another hurdle to get around. I could see if random people off the street were winning majors, but they aren't. When a game can be accessible to newcomers and cater to high-level players at the same time, that's the sign of a well-made and good game.
@murdamook504 harder execution makes a game better. you say elitist as if that's a negative thing. but i'm glad you begrudgingly acknowledge that new people like me are picking up mvc2 all the time, discrediting the rubbish you were talking earlier which is simply your prerogative
@theycallmejpj Except it didn't. I never said EVERY new player, but it does intimidate and discourage A LOT of newer players. Obviously you aren't in that boat. And also, some proof can be found online. No one can deny that a lot less people are playing MVC2 compared to when before MVC3 came out. Some people may have been turned off by the difficulty, or the fact that there are players with 10+ years head start, or maybe they just got tired of it.
@murdamook504 it discourages new players according to who exactly? do you think in the 10+ years mvc2 was a tournament game it was only old players keeping the game alive? lots of people took the game up. the reason why mvc2 is not played as much now should be obvious, yet it's not for any of the reasons you just typed up. when UMvC3 comes out lots of people will drop the current version for the new one again - because that's the version that will be played in tournaments
@theycallmejpj And these two examples can discredit your rubbish: KOF and BlazBlue. Two games with hard execution, yet a limited fanbase. Not saying they're bad games, but having harder execution doesn't make them better. Look at Tekken. Pretty easy execution, yet, except for T4, the series really hasn't gotten bad reviews.
Harder execution requirements don't make or break a game. They just add another unnecessary obstacle to enjoying gameplay.
@murdamook504 blazblue is not difficult, tekken has always been garbage, and what the hell are you talking about KoF has limited fanbase? are you for real? you don't get that a game being popular and a game being good are not the same thing. a game being popular for years and years after it's release (like ST, KoF 98/02, marvel 2, 3rd strike, et al) is the sign of a truly great game. games that take years of practice to master are the best games, doesn't matter what's popular right now
@theycallmejpj BlazBlue has pretty high execution requirements. Hazama alone is a nightmare. Tekken has a sizable fanbase to say it's supposedly garbage. And KOF's fanbase isn't that big. Tekken has a bigger fanbase than KOF.
If games today don't take years of practice to master, then why in the world do the pros, people with years of experience, still take top placing in them? If AE is so easy, then how come someone like you hasn't won a major in it?
@theycallmejpj If MVC3 is so easy to master, then why aren't Sanford, Clockw0rk, and Yipes top 8 in EVO this year? Why aren't random people off the street making top 8 in major tourneys? Sanford tried to say that MVC3 was ass, then he got raped by Noel Brown. Why? Because Noel took the game seriously and took time to get good at it. He didn't waltz in off the street and start wasting everyone.
Just because a game is easier to LEARN doesn't mean it's easy to MASTER. Get it now?
murdamook504 - I see the logical path you are trying to prove by saying why haven't Sanford, Clock, and Yipes placed Top 8 at Evo in MvC3. You are overlooking something very important: MvC3 is completely different (in terms of its gameplay engine) than MvC2. So many of the top placers were already skilled in TvC, SF4, or other recent games. The fact is, that MvC2 players started at a disadvantage compared to people who were not deeply invested into MvC2.
@BrettH123 Brett, SF4 doesn't have much to do with Marvel. The only similarities that are shared with TvC are the wall and ground bounces, and you can learn that just by looking in the strategy guide. And the reason that some of the MVC2 players didn't place as well is simply because the people they played were better than them and wanted it more. Justin still placed third. Yipes kept trying to play it like MVC2. Sanford got arrogant and thought he could win simply because of his past status.
@BrettH123 And Clockw0rk just messed up at a crucial time. Out of all the MVC2 vets, Justin and Clock have had the most success simply because they took the time to adapt. Yipes tried as well, but it looks like he just couldn't keep up. The WC pretty much dominated the EC in MVC3. If anything, having MVC2 experience gives you an advantage in learning MVC3 over coming from other games like the ones you mentioned.
For example, I didn't play much TvC, and I was pretty bad at SF4. I learned the basics of MVC3 in about an hour, partially due to my experience in the prequel, and partially due to my experience with TvC. I still have trouble with advanced combos, especially with Spencer and Wesker. But it's a welcome change to be able to focus more on strategy and team synergy than execution. So when people say that combos in this game are "easy", they're mostly referring to magic series and basic BnBs.
murdamook504 - The MvC2 gameplay engine is quite unique. That is also why many expert MvC2 players were not able to transition as easily as someone who never got into MvC2. When you play MvC2 for many years, your thought process becmes mapped to look for and expect certain types of outcomes in terms of hitboxes and advanced things like that. So when you have an entirely new system, of course those players will have a major uphill battle to compete with those who did not play MvC2 for many years.
@murdamook504 you aren't reading what i'm saying. we are talking about the time it takes to get seriously good at a game. mvc3 is dumbed down to the point where the best combos and the best strategies were developed in days, not years.
don't type stuff like "get it now?" because you aren't even reading or replying to my posts properly
@theycallmejpj That was because we have ways of readily sharing information, and the community is more willing to help each other out. If all these things were available during MVC2's early days, it wouldn't have taken half as long for the tiers to be sorted and strategies found. You sound silly thinking that a game can be mastered in days. If that's the case, then rent the game for a week and sign up at the next major for it. Don't place at anything less than first.
@murdamook504 what ways of sharing information do you think we have now that we didn't have in the early 2000's? again, you aren't reading what i'm saying at all. mvc2 is complex and very deep. mvc3 is basic and simple.
i can't word it any more monosyllabic than that
you never responded to me saying the only reason people play 3 is because it's a new game, not because it will have any lasting appeal. keep adding 2 and 2, getting 5, responding to stuff i didn't say
@theycallmejpj Easy......YouTube. YouTube didn't show up until 2005. Before that, people had to hope that players were nice enough to record their matches and let them see and study the tapes. Information wasn't as readily available as it is now.
And you saying that MVC3 is basic and simple shows that you've never even touched it. Any game seems simple when all you see is magic series combos. That's like saying SF4 is simple because all people do is throw projectiles.
@murdamook504 don't make me laugh dude, combo videos have been around since forever. youtube is only streaming video files, before youtube you would download them. how do you think the whole of america learnt magneto ROM in 2001 when the technique originated in japan. plus gamefaqs, SRK, alt BBs, etc. maybe you think the west sucked at all videogames until 2005, then youtube arrived and suddenly we all learnt how to play.. LOL
if you think mvc3 is hard, you must think brett's a genius
@theycallmejpj I'm now convinced that you have no idea what you're talking about.
People learned the ROM because one or two people saw a tape of the Japanese player that did it, learned the sequence, and then were kind enough to share it with the rest of the community.
There was no place to really download files. Information was not as readily available as it is today.
And learn to read. I said MVC3 is easy to LEARN, but hard to MASTER.
You're probably not good in either one, though, so w/e.
@murdamook504 so people were able to learn mvc2 without youtube? wow, who knew. no place to download files? LOL. i was downloading cvs2 combo videos in 2002.
so tough to master that an 8 year old kid can beat a top TVC player (which the engine is based on). youtube has been around for years and we've never had that before. but it's definitely definitely definitely not because the game lacks the complexity or depth of a truly great fighting game. it's because of youtube.
@theycallmejpj Noah beating a bunch of bad players has nothing to do with the game. That's like me saying that MVC2 is bad because I can beat a bunch of online players using basic magic series combos.
I know you're all ready to show everyone that MVC3 is so easy to master, but you're failing miserably.
murdamook504 - Apparently the 8 year old who was wrecking house in MvC3 this year at Evo defeated or eliminted Daigo. You've adamantly defended MvC3, but would you admit that Daigo losing to an 8 year old is a sign? Daigo made a bold video after MvC3 was made, saying that people should be ready for him in MvC3. Something like that. Although he has more experience in SF than in MvC3, he has incredible smarts in fighting games generally. So is Daigo just a low level player too?
@BrettH123 No, Brett. Noah played Daigo in SF4. He plays that game as well. Daigo didn't do well in MVC3 in general, and he's been slipping in SF4 as well, getting perfected by Poongko. Justing Wong even got perfected by PR Balrog, who's also mainly a SF4 player. That doesn't mean the game is bad; it simply means that the player that beat him was better at that time.
Not to take anything away from Justin, though. He had a repeat of his Evo 2007 moment this year, with even less life, and no X-Factor. He came back off of skill. The point is, X-Factor isn't an instant win button like some players claim it is. It's a tool, just like anything else.
@murdamook504 you think royalphlush is a bad player now? oh yes of course you would. you think what's popular currently indicates what's better. you think tekken is good. you think blazblue is a difficult game. you think youtube would've halved the time it took for the top strategies to come together on marvel 2.
you think a lot of weird things.
"You're probably not good in either one though" - brilliant
@murdamook504 "Pro" old players got defeated by "randoms" and it dnt mean that the game is easier to master. Every game have his own gameplay engine. Justin Wong got defeated by PR_Balrog with a PERFECT Combo! Now PR_Balrog may be called a random, but I call him a legend killer. Who pwned Justin with a perfect in a EVO tournament before? -I agree with your comment-
murdamook504 - When a game allows players to kill characters easily, then it is not as rewarding to the players. You keep referring to terms like elitist to indicate that MvC2 players think they are superior to MvC3 players. It is not about being superior, rather, it is about acknowledging that games that require a higher overall level of skill (not only with execution, also with strategy), have a longer lifespan. That's why I highly doubt that many people will play MvC3 or even UMvC3 in 2022.
murdamook504 - I do not promote elitism. That's why when people who are new to MvC2 who are looking to learn ask me questions, I always do my best to help them out and teach them. Even after 11 years, plenty of people still message me and ask me questions about MvC2. Many of them have only a low to moderate amount of experience in MvC2. Clearly, MvC2 appeals to beginners, intermediate players, and high-level players. I play people frequently on ranked matches who are beginners too.
@theycallmejpj For example, most of the MVC2 players that try to bash MVC3 do it because they think it's "too easy". That's a way of keeping newer players out. People enjoy MVC3 because, for the most part, they can actually pick characters they like and not have it be an automatic uphill battle against certain characters. Granted, fighting games will always have tiers, but no one wants a tier gap as wide as MVC2's is.
murdamook504 - There is nothing wrong with many people being drawn to a game that is easier (MvC3). The issue I have is that you are making it out to be that MvC3 is better than MvC2 merely because all characters can easily do massive amounts of damage, and in MvC2 it took considerable skill and knowledge to overcome matchup deficiencies. Even OG games like SF2: ST had great and bad matchups within its cast. A game does not need to diminish skill differences between characters, to make it great.
murdamook504 - Many people (both experienced and inexperienced) love the challenge of the tier gaps in MvC2. I have spoken with many players who are proud of having the knowledge and skill to defeat top tier teams using mid tier teams. The sign of a great game is that it's been out for 11 years, and still attracts new players, while the depth, complexity, and competitiiveness of the game keeps serious players very much hype and interested. It says a lot that new discoveries are still being made.
@BrettH123 Sure, many people may like it, but there's a lot more that don't. I enjoyed MVC2 as well, but I had to take a deep breath every time I saw two or three of the top 4 facing me from the other side of the screen.
Please understand.....I'm not trying to promote a war between the two games. I'm not on a MVC3>MVC2 kick. I just don't like when people say ignorant things about the game that I like. You'd do the same thing for MVC2.
murdamook504 - Of course a lot of people have grown to dislike MvC2. Most people do not have the time, energy, or motivation to put in countless hours into mastering a game that is as deep, complex, and execution-intensive as MvC2. I do understand the benefits of making a game more accessible.
Whereas you would take a deep breath when seeing any of the top 4, a lot of MvC2 players would delight in the challenge. If it were simple to kill most chars in MvC2, it would'nt feel as great to do it
murdamook504 - There are some things you are overlooking. Your claim that only "elitists" think that harder execution requirements make a game better, is reductive. It is not only that the execution level is higher in MvC2, the combo engine is more complex (which gives more lifespan to the game), the meta-game is more complex (again, gives more lifespan to the game), and it takes more skill to kill characters.
@BrettH123 You make it seem like the entire game is magic series, and it isn't. Hell, you can kill people in MVC2 with basic BnB's, just like in the sequel. Magneto's ROM or Hyper Grav loops are hard to pull off in both games. Just like Magneto, Sentinel, IM/WM, Dhalsim, and Anakaris take execution to pull off in 2, Dante, Magneto, C. Viper, Zero, Dr. Doom, and Taskmaster take execution to pull off in 3.
And the meta-game pretty much boils down to the same thing in both games: Don't get hit. There are guard breaks in both games. There are frame traps in both. There are unblockables in both.
And as far as combo engines go, there are plenty of high-level combo videos out there. The only thing that MVC2 has that 3 doesn't are infinites, and there are loops for all that.
murdamook504 - There are no guard breaks in MvC3 when characters enter from offscreen. That was a major change from MvC2. There may be crossups or unblockables in those scenarios, but that is different from a guard break. Guaerd breaks have been a major component of the series ever since XSF. There are plenty of advanced combo techniques that are abent from MvC3. For example, MvC3 does not have suki canceling. There are plenty more examples too.
@SnMRudolph Lol. You serious? I saw those matches. All he did was expose impatient players with bad defense. The only pro he went up against was Chris G, who promptly put him to bed. That's like saying MVC2's biggest problems are Ice Beam and Cable's HP x 5.
@murdamook504 uhhh a 8 year beat pros at evo with hulk using no assist, droping combos, and using super armor. theres no way to put that. A 8 YR OLD BEAT PROS AT EVO WITH HULK USING SENT AND WESKER USING NO ASSISTS, DROPING COMBOS, AND USING SUPER ARMOR. Uhhhhh i dont know where to go with this. what in the hell does a ice beam have to do with anything? I bet if we asked that 8yr old which game he likes the best MvC2? or Mvc3? 10 times out 10 him and the all the kids on earth would choose mvc3
@SnMRudolph Dude, what pros? THE KID WAS IN POOLS. If he was beating people with no assists, dropping combos, and super armor, that speaks more about the people he's beating than the game itself. That's an online tactic that most people can get around after a week. If you're going to bash a game, at least try not to be ignorant about it.
@murdamook504 i honest to god thought that chris g was a pro. i also thought royal phlush was. Anyways
the fact still remains that a 8 year can beat anyone who seems to be midly good at the game, which says alot about the game. So just like i said, do you think that would ever happen in mv2? Or would this 8yr old not even win a match? If we asked every kid in the usa which was better would they choose mvc3? Honestly is dark phoenix hard to play with? is she good? How much should you practice?
@SnMRudolph Chris G is a pro. That's why he beat Noah. I don't know much about Royal Flush.
The fact remains that if an 8-year-old was beating people with simple tactics like that, then the people he beat weren't good at all, period. Signing up for EVO does not make you a pro. And the game doesn't matter.....if the kid was beating people with simple magic series in MVC2, that would say the same thing about the people he beat.
I don't use Phoenix, so I don't know. I've beaten plenty, though.
@iitruevibeii Yes, exactly the same speed, I'm not too good with reflies on sent, but I do them sometimes, so I tested my self, and many others will tell u the same
@F0Xhound009 thats the thing all of the "kiddies" dont wanna play 8 characters outta 50+........its cool tho play what you like but dont sit here and bash the new shit that in turn keeps the old shit going. Everybodys starting sound like them old men "we hade to go 50 miles in the snow barefooted and up hill to land our combos" this old vs new attitude is killing the FGC respect both. play both.
ShawnSavage07 - That is a misconception about MvC2. Most highly skilled MvC2 players are quite capable and dangerous with more than half the cast of 56. Take Josh 360 for example, he has a beastly Ruby Heart, Thanos, Colossus, Guile, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Charlie, Cammy, Doom, Bison, Marrow, Jill, Venom, Hulk, War Machine, Morrigan, Captain America, Iceman, Omega Red, Blackheart, Spiral, Ken, Akuma, Megaman, Tron, Chun-Li, and more. There are many more MvC2 players who beast with mid tiers.
ShawnSavage07 - I do agree that is can be counterproductive to the FGC when hardcore players of one game bash players of a newer game. I have been guilty of this, and I am trying to be more open minded. It is important to keep in mind though that when players grow to really admire and respect the complexities and depth of a game, they often will be angry/disappointed when the new version is way easier to do high damage combos, and much of the complexity is just not there to the same extent.
@F0Xhound009 Whether someone beat you with this or with a magic series in either game, you'd cry because you were losing. Hop off the high horse sometime.
NOONY187 - I told you Bro, they will be the next videos (matches) to be uploaded. This video was recorded the same night as the shit talking matches , and I promised Josh that I would upload this video very quickly. Take it easy, your matches will be online very soon. I do want this video to get a great deal of exposure though since it is very impressive, and many players will benefit from it.
Holy shit his IM has always been my inspiration to improve my gameplay and combos, I loved the last combo, shit was too sick, great video Bro, Good Fucking Shit to josh, the BEST IM in the WORLD...
You do that shit with 99.9% drunk, damn near sleep don't you? You can do that with your feet for fun can't you? You're the Superior Tech Jesus Christ of Marvel v.s Capcom 2 aren't you? Your name is Josh 360 because one time you flipped t arcade stick upside down and still was able to do that shit with your right hand, didn't you? Yeah, I know.
Josh has the skill of a marvel god. As far as I've seen his iron man is unparalled. I've only recently learn iron man's refly and that shit is hard for me to do. Josh gets mad respect from me.
MrPavySRK - I am happy to see such an overwhelming positive and grateful response. I am determined to capture hands videos of the most difficult and elusive combos in MvC2.
the last combo is so swag

i am having so much trouble with the airdash down forward. up.HP. -_-
SRKChrisFreemind 1 week ago
@SRKChrisFreemind - Keep practicing. After awhile it becomes muscle memory. The same goes for every Infinite.
BrettH123 1 week ago
Fucking J360! You're really something else with Iron Man. I've been playing Marvel forever, never seen anything like this guy.
GoldSamuraiArmor 2 months ago
Hey I have a question about this whole refly thing, does he leave fly mode on for the whole time while he's in the air, and if so, how does he keep moving up? I thought fly mode didn't last that long
PauLWaFFleZ 3 months ago
PauLWaFFleZ - No, he does not leave fly mode on for the entire refly combo. Refly is peformed be executing the flight command twice in a row in between attacks. You can see him to the flight motion 2x in a row in between each 3 hit rep of the refly Infinite. The idea is that the character leaves flight mode for a split second and then enters flight mode again, and attacks right away.

What kind of stick is that?? And what stick would you suggest for 360??

and i thought iron man was easy lol.
im just getting into high-god tier, is ironman a good starting point?
and who is easier to learn the infinite? ironman or warmachine?
cheers
t3kn0l0v3r 4 months ago
t3kn0l0v3r - Iron Man requires a lot of precise execution to be successful. I don't know that he is an ideal starting character for a player just getting into god tier. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to learn him though. The timing for the basic Infinite (4 hit normal jump) is about the same for Iron Man as it is for War Machine.
BrettH123 4 months ago
@BrettH123 thanks brett, i can do most god tier air combos but infinites are pretty hard for me, also i noticed his controller sounds different, the buttons sound very loud and easy to press, i have a bad joystick and was wondering if it really makes a difference? sometimes i do inputs and they dont come out or come out too late unless i hit the buttons really hard :/
t3kn0l0v3r 3 months ago
t3kn0l0v3r - The joystick in this video is a MAS stick and I think they are the best kind of joystick to execute combos in MvC2. The type of joystick makes a major difference, though personal preference matters a lot too.

@JZumaya56 what?? WM has faster airdash??
kradofbugs 6 months ago
kradofbugs - Yes, War Machine's airdash is faster than Iron Man's airdash. Josh 360 confirmed that is true. Try playing as WM, and you will see he is faster than IM in the air.

OOOH MY GOD! Im trippin balls over the whole video....360...ITS IMPORTANT THAT I SEE YOU PLAY LOL

Another thing is, you see how in mvc2 with all the GOOD fighters, you have to make them good. This guys IM is deadly because what he knows. In mvc3 all you need a basic BnB combo, hell EVERYONE is good with the top fighters on that game
SnMRudolph 7 months ago
@SnMRudolph I would definitely disagree with this, but you do have a point. MvC2 takes more skill than MvC3.
SpyTF2Medic 7 months ago
@SpyTF2Medic What i mean is, for example lets take magneto. I know the rom inf setups, resets, gaurd breaks yada yada right? OK your average gamer, wouldnt just come along and win and beat people like i would because i know better stuff. What i know with mag is the reason he is toptier. Simply put if u dont practice u dont win(at a high level) in mvc3 its completely flipped. You dont need anything advanced just some simple stuff, or just use dark phoenix. lets not 4get xfactor the life saver
SnMRudolph 7 months ago
@SnMRudolph Go try that against a top player and see how far that gets you. Hell, try that against anyone decent.
And as far as X-Factor being a life saver, Combofiend would like a word with you on that.
If you don't like the game, fine. But spouting ignorance is just stupid.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 so you telling me if i pick my wolverine(who is top-tier) i couldnt win by catching my someone with that brain dead bnb combo. Or i could just pick phoenix right? Maybe i should practice some combos? Did you read what i posted? how is that ignorance? its the truth. Mvc3 requires a hell of a lot less skill than mvc2 simply put. Your just a upset fanboy. Wow combofiends yea the only non xfactor on u will see. thats ur example? look at any amazing skillful comback justin pulled off.
SnMRudolph 7 months ago
@SnMRudolph You act like that combo is an instant kill. I've been hit with it plenty of times and won. I've beaten plenty of people without even popping X-Factor. If anyone sounds butthurt, it's you. And this is coming from someone that enjoys both 2 and 3.
Also, anyone whining about how combos take skill are the main ones that would be salty after a loss, no matter if it was from a refly infinite or a BnB.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 Just like i thought. A brainless fanboy. Can you read at all. Who cares if its an instant kill. Im saying the same thing over and over but u keep trying to sway the argument into diffrent ways. Im gonna make this this as pre school as i can for you. What im saying is in mvc2 you have to work to make yourself and the people you play with good. This video is a perfect example of, if i practice and you dont im gonna be better. All that is out the window in mvc3. Thats a Fact!. By By
SnMRudolph 7 months ago
@SnMRudolph Dude, that's with ANY game. If that's the case, go pick up MVC3 right now and immediately do Magneto's ROM or Hyper Grav loops. Or Doom's Buktooth loop. Or any C. Viper or Dante combo. Nobody is denying that Wolverine is braindead. But that's the thing......that's JUST Wolverine, which is why he's being nerfed to hell in the upgrade.
The point is, you're talking out of your ass. ANY combo takes work and practice. It's ok if you lose to people in 3. You just need to get better,
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 I had ended this arguement a while back bu uhhh a fuckin 8 year old can beat the shit out of fucking pros at evo by using one one button with hulk and using his super armor. He was messing up combos and everything, but he still was winning against people who waaaay better then me or you. im not hating on the 8 year old but THAT GAME IS FUCKING NOOBY, AND SCRUBBY. LMAO a 8 yr old? the will neeeeeeeeeeeever ever happen in mvc2. Evver. To much practicing and skilling By By again.
SnMRudolph 7 months ago
SnMRudolph - Great example. I look forward to seeing what 'Mr. I defend MvC3 at all costs' has to say about an 8 year old doing great at MvC3 at Evo.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@BrettH123 Wow i rushed that comment and my grammer is bad, but that 8 year old is the perfect example. Did anyone see the matches? Im not gonna lie im rooting for him. I dont think he make a good respone for that other than saying that i suck or im just mad, which yea he is right cuz i suck at mvc3. i should suck since i dont play it.
SnMRudolph 7 months ago
@BrettH123 Considering he didn't make it out of pools, I'd say it wasn't a big deal.
Who won MVC2 at Evo this year? Oh wait......
murdamook504 7 months ago
murdamook504 - There were many entrants in MvC3 though.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@BrettH123 Brett, if you saw those videos, you know full well that none of those players were mid-level. They were horrible. The kid found a strategy, and people kept falling for it. That says nothing about the game. That speaks to the other players' skill level, or lack thereof. People running into Hulk's standing H is a basic online tactic that people got around after a week.
MVC2 got dropped because the majority of the community got sick of it. Deal with it.
murdamook504 7 months ago
murdamook504 - MvC2 only got dropped because Capcom realized it is not as profitable as MvC3.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@BrettH123 I never said it was. But being LESS accessible doesn't make MVC2 any more superior, either. Far less people enjoy MVC2 because of how high the learning curve is. The only people that think harder execution requirements make a game better are elitists, plain and simple. And so what if an 8 year old was beating people in pools? He lost when he went up against competent players, just like any good game. Anybody can sign up for Evo. Does that put them at pro status? Of course not.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 what's wrong with being an elitist?
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj Being an elitist keeps the community from growing. It intimidates newer players from getting into the game. Harder execution requirements don't really do anything but create another hurdle to get around. I could see if random people off the street were winning majors, but they aren't. When a game can be accessible to newcomers and cater to high-level players at the same time, that's the sign of a well-made and good game.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 and yet hear i am picking up mvc2 in 2011, and having no interest in mvc3
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj That's your prerogative. What does that have to do with elitism?
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 harder execution makes a game better. you say elitist as if that's a negative thing. but i'm glad you begrudgingly acknowledge that new people like me are picking up mvc2 all the time, discrediting the rubbish you were talking earlier which is simply your prerogative
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj Except it didn't. I never said EVERY new player, but it does intimidate and discourage A LOT of newer players. Obviously you aren't in that boat. And also, some proof can be found online. No one can deny that a lot less people are playing MVC2 compared to when before MVC3 came out. Some people may have been turned off by the difficulty, or the fact that there are players with 10+ years head start, or maybe they just got tired of it.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 it discourages new players according to who exactly? do you think in the 10+ years mvc2 was a tournament game it was only old players keeping the game alive? lots of people took the game up. the reason why mvc2 is not played as much now should be obvious, yet it's not for any of the reasons you just typed up. when UMvC3 comes out lots of people will drop the current version for the new one again - because that's the version that will be played in tournaments
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj And these two examples can discredit your rubbish: KOF and BlazBlue. Two games with hard execution, yet a limited fanbase. Not saying they're bad games, but having harder execution doesn't make them better. Look at Tekken. Pretty easy execution, yet, except for T4, the series really hasn't gotten bad reviews.
Harder execution requirements don't make or break a game. They just add another unnecessary obstacle to enjoying gameplay.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 blazblue is not difficult, tekken has always been garbage, and what the hell are you talking about KoF has limited fanbase? are you for real? you don't get that a game being popular and a game being good are not the same thing. a game being popular for years and years after it's release (like ST, KoF 98/02, marvel 2, 3rd strike, et al) is the sign of a truly great game. games that take years of practice to master are the best games, doesn't matter what's popular right now
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj BlazBlue has pretty high execution requirements. Hazama alone is a nightmare. Tekken has a sizable fanbase to say it's supposedly garbage. And KOF's fanbase isn't that big. Tekken has a bigger fanbase than KOF.
If games today don't take years of practice to master, then why in the world do the pros, people with years of experience, still take top placing in them? If AE is so easy, then how come someone like you hasn't won a major in it?
murdamook504 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj If MVC3 is so easy to master, then why aren't Sanford, Clockw0rk, and Yipes top 8 in EVO this year? Why aren't random people off the street making top 8 in major tourneys? Sanford tried to say that MVC3 was ass, then he got raped by Noel Brown. Why? Because Noel took the game seriously and took time to get good at it. He didn't waltz in off the street and start wasting everyone.
Just because a game is easier to LEARN doesn't mean it's easy to MASTER. Get it now?
murdamook504 7 months ago
murdamook504 - I see the logical path you are trying to prove by saying why haven't Sanford, Clock, and Yipes placed Top 8 at Evo in MvC3.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@BrettH123 Brett, SF4 doesn't have much to do with Marvel. The only similarities that are shared with TvC are the wall and ground bounces, and you can learn that just by looking in the strategy guide. And the reason that some of the MVC2 players didn't place as well is simply because the people they played were better than them and wanted it more. Justin still placed third. Yipes kept trying to play it like MVC2. Sanford got arrogant and thought he could win simply because of his past status.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@BrettH123 And Clockw0rk just messed up at a crucial time. Out of all the MVC2 vets, Justin and Clock have had the most success simply because they took the time to adapt. Yipes tried as well, but it looks like he just couldn't keep up. The WC pretty much dominated the EC in MVC3. If anything, having MVC2 experience gives you an advantage in learning MVC3 over coming from other games like the ones you mentioned.
murdamook504 7 months ago
For example, I didn't play much TvC, and I was pretty bad at SF4. I learned the basics of MVC3 in about an hour, partially due to my experience in the prequel, and partially due to my experience with TvC. I still have trouble with advanced combos, especially with Spencer and Wesker. But it's a welcome change to be able to focus more on strategy and team synergy than execution. So when people say that combos in this game are "easy", they're mostly referring to magic series and basic BnBs.
murdamook504 7 months ago
murdamook504 - The MvC2 gameplay engine is quite unique.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@murdamook504 you aren't reading what i'm saying. we are talking about the time it takes to get seriously good at a game. mvc3 is dumbed down to the point where the best combos and the best strategies were developed in days, not years.
don't type stuff like "get it now?" because you aren't even reading or replying to my posts properly
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj That was because we have ways of readily sharing information, and the community is more willing to help each other out. If all these things were available during MVC2's early days, it wouldn't have taken half as long for the tiers to be sorted and strategies found. You sound silly thinking that a game can be mastered in days. If that's the case, then rent the game for a week and sign up at the next major for it. Don't place at anything less than first.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 what ways of sharing information do you think we have now that we didn't have in the early 2000's? again, you aren't reading what i'm saying at all. mvc2 is complex and very deep. mvc3 is basic and simple.
i can't word it any more monosyllabic than that
you never responded to me saying the only reason people play 3 is because it's a new game, not because it will have any lasting appeal. keep adding 2 and 2, getting 5, responding to stuff i didn't say
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj Easy......YouTube. YouTube didn't show up until 2005. Before that, people had to hope that players were nice enough to record their matches and let them see and study the tapes. Information wasn't as readily available as it is now.
And you saying that MVC3 is basic and simple shows that you've never even touched it. Any game seems simple when all you see is magic series combos. That's like saying SF4 is simple because all people do is throw projectiles.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 don't make me laugh dude, combo videos have been around since forever. youtube is only streaming video files, before youtube you would download them. how do you think the whole of america learnt magneto ROM in 2001 when the technique originated in japan. plus gamefaqs, SRK, alt BBs, etc. maybe you think the west sucked at all videogames until 2005, then youtube arrived and suddenly we all learnt how to play.. LOL
if you think mvc3 is hard, you must think brett's a genius
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj I'm now convinced that you have no idea what you're talking about.
People learned the ROM because one or two people saw a tape of the Japanese player that did it, learned the sequence, and then were kind enough to share it with the rest of the community.
There was no place to really download files. Information was not as readily available as it is today.
And learn to read. I said MVC3 is easy to LEARN, but hard to MASTER.
You're probably not good in either one, though, so w/e.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 so people were able to learn mvc2 without youtube? wow, who knew. no place to download files? LOL. i was downloading cvs2 combo videos in 2002.
so tough to master that an 8 year old kid can beat a top TVC player (which the engine is based on). youtube has been around for years and we've never had that before. but it's definitely definitely definitely not because the game lacks the complexity or depth of a truly great fighting game. it's because of youtube.
deluded
theycallmejpj 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj Noah beating a bunch of bad players has nothing to do with the game. That's like me saying that MVC2 is bad because I can beat a bunch of online players using basic magic series combos.
I know you're all ready to show everyone that MVC3 is so easy to master, but you're failing miserably.
murdamook504 7 months ago
murdamook504 - Apparently the 8 year old who was wrecking house in MvC3 this year at Evo defeated or eliminted Daigo.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@BrettH123 No, Brett. Noah played Daigo in SF4. He plays that game as well. Daigo didn't do well in MVC3 in general, and he's been slipping in SF4 as well, getting perfected by Poongko. Justing Wong even got perfected by PR Balrog, who's also mainly a SF4 player. That doesn't mean the game is bad; it simply means that the player that beat him was better at that time.
murdamook504 7 months ago
Not to take anything away from Justin, though. He had a repeat of his Evo 2007 moment this year, with even less life, and no X-Factor. He came back off of skill. The point is, X-Factor isn't an instant win button like some players claim it is. It's a tool, just like anything else.
murdamook504 7 months ago

M055B0RG 3 months ago
@M055B0RG yea
Rypleys1 3 months ago
murdamook504 - When a game allows players to kill characters easily, then it is not as rewarding to the players.
BrettH123 7 months ago
murdamook504 - I do not promote elitism.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@theycallmejpj For example, most of the MVC2 players that try to bash MVC3 do it because they think it's "too easy". That's a way of keeping newer players out. People enjoy MVC3 because, for the most part, they can actually pick characters they like and not have it be an automatic uphill battle against certain characters. Granted, fighting games will always have tiers, but no one wants a tier gap as wide as MVC2's is.
murdamook504 7 months ago
murdamook504 - There is nothing wrong with many people being drawn to a game that is easier (MvC3).
BrettH123 7 months ago
murdamook504 - Many people (both experienced and inexperienced) love the challenge of the tier gaps in MvC2.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@BrettH123 Sure, many people may like it, but there's a lot more that don't. I enjoyed MVC2 as well, but I had to take a deep breath every time I saw two or three of the top 4 facing me from the other side of the screen.
Please understand.....I'm not trying to promote a war between the two games. I'm not on a MVC3>MVC2 kick. I just don't like when people say ignorant things about the game that I like. You'd do the same thing for MVC2.
murdamook504 7 months ago
murdamook504 - Of course a lot of people have grown to dislike MvC2.
If it were simple to kill most chars in MvC2, it would'nt feel as great to do it
BrettH123 7 months ago
murdamook504 - There are some things you are overlooking.
BrettH123 7 months ago

The only thing that MVC2 has that 3 doesn't are infinites, and there are loops for all that.
murdamook504 7 months ago
murdamook504 - There are no guard breaks in MvC3 when characters enter from offscreen.

C'mon man, try harder.
murdamook504 7 months ago
SnMRudolph 7 months ago
@SnMRudolph Dude, what pros? THE KID WAS IN POOLS. If he was beating people with no assists, dropping combos, and super armor, that speaks more about the people he's beating than the game itself. That's an online tactic that most people can get around after a week. If you're going to bash a game, at least try not to be ignorant about it.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@murdamook504 i honest to god thought that chris g was a pro. i also thought royal phlush was. Anyways
the fact still remains that a 8 year can beat anyone who seems to be midly good at the game, which says alot about the game. So just like i said, do you think that would ever happen in mv2? Or would this 8yr old not even win a match? If we asked every kid in the usa which was better would they choose mvc3? Honestly is dark phoenix hard to play with? is she good? How much should you practice?
SnMRudolph 7 months ago
@SnMRudolph Chris G is a pro. That's why he beat Noah. I don't know much about Royal Flush.
The fact remains that if an 8-year-old was beating people with simple tactics like that, then the people he beat weren't good at all, period. Signing up for EVO does not make you a pro. And the game doesn't matter.....if the kid was beating people with simple magic series in MVC2, that would say the same thing about the people he beat.
I don't use Phoenix, so I don't know. I've beaten plenty, though.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@SnMRudolph You know what, im through with this. there are always gonna be 2 sides to this and arguments alike so im done.

question: the way he performs the iron man refly infinite combo, could that same speed be applied to Sentinel reflies?
iitruevibeii 7 months ago
@iitruevibeii Yes, exactly the same speed, I'm not too good with reflies on sent, but I do them sometimes, so I tested my self, and many others will tell u the same

too bad mvc3 isn't this skillful, if it was all the kiddies thinkin they are God in mvc3 would cry they can't do shit
F0Xhound009 7 months ago 20
@F0Xhound009 thats the thing all of the "kiddies" dont wanna play 8 characters outta 50+........its cool tho play what you like but dont sit here and bash the new shit that in turn keeps the old shit going. Everybodys starting sound like them old men "we hade to go 50 miles in the snow barefooted and up hill to land our combos" this old vs new attitude is killing the FGC respect both. play both.
ShawnSavage07 7 months ago
BrettH123 7 months ago
ShawnSavage07 - I do agree that is can be counterproductive to the FGC when hardcore players of one game bash players of a newer game. I have been guilty of this, and I am trying to be more open minded. It is important to keep in mind though that when players grow to really admire and respect the complexities and depth of a game, they often will be angry/disappointed when the new version is way easier to do high damage combos, and much of the complexity is just not there to the same extent.
BrettH123 7 months ago
@F0Xhound009 Whether someone beat you with this or with a magic series in either game, you'd cry because you were losing. Hop off the high horse sometime.
murdamook504 7 months ago
@F0Xhound009 There was a 8yr old kid in the MVC3 top 40 at EVO over the weekend. LMFAO. You'll NEVER catch a 8yr old beastin on MVC2. Thats for sure.
