@themathsking - they are playing 10-ball, the difference with 9-ball is the racking because of additional ball. -- for 9-ball (diamond) , for 10-ball (triangle) ... -- it's suppose to be harder to shoot the "Money ball" in a triangle racking during the break.

playing hide n seek in 8 ball is a sissy way to play! Eferen is one of the best, no disrespect, but if you are gonna play pool then play straight up

@brandondavenport562 . There are playing 9 ball, not 8 ball. Playing "safe" is really object ball and cue ball position play. It is a skill that is a lot harder than it looks. Your right about Efren being one of the best. I'm glad i was able to get this game on video, because its not often two players of this caliber pull off so many safes on the first ball of the game.

@pyckMeister Snooker doesn't require anywhere near as many strong english or kick shots; snooker has smaller balls, pockets, and a longer table which requires long and precise cue strokes. Those cue movements help the player loosen up and feel the right form before actually executing a shot.

I don't think that the safety is on his plan, it's just far from human ability to get such a perfect shot. One more thing, Efren had been playing Carom 3 Cusion, so the hit is not surprising at all. I mean almost all Carom player can make that hit and the safety is just a matter of luck. That's only what I think.

I don't know what camcorder you had, but I have never seen such CRISP quality. It must have been HD, Moody. Well, just to let ya know: I, too, am a fellow Texan from the RGValley. I used to be into trickshots for pocket billiards, but I choose to rather vent into the Carom Billiards zone (in particular: Freegame and Balkline... one cushion and three can go later). But yea, seeing Efren is like seeing Mosconi: Once he's gone, it is a priceless memory one will never forget &be told in the future.

My camera is the Canon's SX10 IS. It has a 20X zoom which is awesome. I also play 3 cushion and I'd love to have one in my home. I totally agree, Efren will always be one of the best. His nickname totally fits him, because you never know what he is going to pull out of his hat!!
