  • All this time, as an Undead, will not be forget.

  • RIP wow.

  • First time playin.

level 8 warlock right before ICC releassed.

WHat a gloomy place that is across the river, i wonder what could be in there?'

'Deep inside duskwood' OH SHIT WHAT IS THAT?!WHATS THAT?!AH!AH!'killed by skeletons'

Fuck,i reinstall and explore this place(Tho i aint scared no mores)

  • Cata killed it

  • agweedz :(( :'(

  • I was fucking scared, when I was like 11 or 10 listening to this and exploring Duskwood and everything. It actually WAS intense and EPIC. Scary monsters everywhere. Just the right mood. I tried playing WoW a few weeks ago, but it's just not anymore, what it used to be. A lame game for casuals, that can get to the max level in days playing few hours a day.

  • Remember Stiches? Or Mor'Ladim? Or maybe the dragon in the grove?

God Everytime I aggroed those guys I just got that pit feeling in my stomach!

Duskwood is one of the scaries places in WoW. No doubt about it.

  • @temarigirl1600 I mourn Vanilla WoW

  • First toon ever: Human warrior.

    Level 3:

"Fuck this place, I'm too 1337 for it."

*runs aimlessly in Elwynn, eventually find river*

    *Swims across*

"HOLY FUCK DEMON WOLF FROM HELL OMGWTFBBQ"

*You have died. Release to Graveyard?"

  • @12Metaman I actually went there at around level 12 because I was a nub and thought I was right level for it. Me and my friend were running slowly up the road, stopping and looking in to the jungle... Then we ran like hell because we saw a level ??? warewolf.

This was around 2006, before WoW got ruined by whining kids who want instant epics.

  • @12Metaman That sounds very familiar lol.

  • Omg YES this zone was the best it gets for nostalgia

  • Like fking GOOD OLD TIMES

that was the best wow ever

  • Scariest zone in a non-scary game. Stitches and Mor'Ladim... NOPE

  • everytime i listen to the wow music, i really feel like start playing again just for the experience... oh wait, now i remember. nowadays wow is all about getting 1-85 in 1 day and full epic.. shit i miss pre tbc<3

  • Stavlan, a tale that always mystified me

  • I'm only listening to this because I have a cold... so I can blame the sniffling from nostalgia on that.

  • Duskwood was such a brilliant area imo. The grave yard that leads to some catacombs, then that small tunnel that leads to MORE, used to love spending the time there.

  • Does anyone else remember shitting themselves when they saw Stitches walking down the path towards them?

  • @Aetheilas Oh man. He was so scary. He could even see through my Shadowmeld D: That quest chain was so much fun though :D Good memories...

  • thats some scary shit, we`ll never get those moments back..

  • getting that quest and hiting the road and u see stiches and freak the fuck out and not knowing what to do and you wonder who the fuck is that guy oh those wore the times

  • Gathering up a group of seven people to bring down Mor'Ladim. He kills the rogue and two casters but you finally manage to drop him. Realize he's part of a quest chain and turn it in. Get Archeus as a paladin and wield it like a badge of honor.

    ...That feel.

  • In the days before Burning Crusade, when a friend and I first started playing, we had both just finished the quests in Westfall and were around level 18-19, both noobs with all grey gear, maybe 1 green, no idea where to go next, so we swam across the river to Duskwood. It was about 3am, back when the game used to properly go dark before they patched it out. This music came on. Mist. Graveyard. Lets follow the road. Attacked by all kinds of evil. Keep running, we must be near a town.

    Death.

  • I once was an Orc warlock and I hid in the dark of Duskwood to attack whoever dared to cross my sight.

    Come into the shadows....death awaits.

At least until Blizz fixed it so you cannot attack lowbies anymore. Good change ^^

  • @chocolatechippyable True that man. At lvl 30 he was tough. I can now solo him at lvl 22 (rogue) Btw...I still have the Sword you get from the quest (Archeus) and I'm 85 of course. And I'm going to transmog it with the new patch :)

  • Hahaha I remember the Morgan Ladimore quest. At level 30 he was hard. (My main) I have kept his sword still to this very day and I am going to Transmog it.

  • You all know this music is still here right? Duskwood has barely changed.

  • This was so freaking scary the first time I played this...IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WTF D:<

  • I never got uncomfortable playing WoW until I first hit Duskwood. I remember it was winter here at the time and I was in my house by myself sitting in the pitch dark with headphones on. That eerie music, barely seeing any other players around me. Creeepy, but totally awesome at the same time :)

  • Duskwood was EPIC! I still remember sitting on the Westfall-Duskwood border, with red and orange mobs roaming in the shadows, cobwebs off trees and just legging it through, pretty much shitting my pants till i hit Raven Hill, and lo' and behold, a crazy guy has taken up residence there -_ - gooood times :) :)

  • Classic.

I remember that cemetery place scared the shit out of me. Also walking on those roads to Darkshire with no mount back then. Or how about those farms? All these places with the music playing was sooo epic, but scary.

  • I got those feelings too, mind you posted that a year ago. About the time I got jumped by a nssty spider there. I have great memories of grouping up to combat the scary place with a group. =)

  • This zone overall just creeped the shit out of me. Classic horror atmosphere, really.

  • 1:20 HWOLY SHIIT! that sound made me piss my pants!

  • Classic was classic.. Just the best.. TBC was great too.. I liked Outland.. That feeling when I first came throught the Dark Portal.. And Flying on a mount was the best thing to do when I was bored.. Wotlk.. well its all about PVP and I like pvp so I can't say wotlk is that bad But still I miss classic... Cata? I was playing it for a while.. Its great with those new quest and these things and lots of awesome stuff.. But still its not the thing we want and what we need

  • cata is not that awesome they should make some realms where you can play without any expansion

  • I haven't been to northrend yet but I can say that my fav place in wow will always be Duskwood!

  • I still have Archeus from the Ladimore quest in my bank. (I'm a lvl 85)

  • Defiantly the most atmospheric in the game. They had to go and change it in Cata.

  • when i i hear it first time i must music low down.. i was really scared..

  • I miss Stitches :(((((

  • wished I had a sound track that had all music like this.. spooky

  • Anyone else feel like they should make a full length movie about some of the quest chains in duskwood? Particularly concerning Stiches :D? even without knowledge of wow I could see many people enjoying such a movie, granted it was well executed...

  • this and ealwynn forret were my 2 favorite zones,

  • this is the zone i used to fear most as a nub player leveling in westfall.

  • I loved the game till wrath came out then stuff got fucked up

  • hahah i remember when mounts were at level 40 and i had to walk through duskwood to get all the quests done and while listening to this music in the dark? that was sweet.

  • I remember when I was leaving Darkshire in the direction of RavenHill when I saw a forsaken player in the middle of the road eating one of the Patrolling npcs. I slowly started walking backwards when it came chasing after me....I miss that feeling

  • I could easily fall asleep to this. Really calms me down.

  • @StormRaven332 same here

  • they fucked it up with the patch

  • The piano makes it sound creepy, yet sad and abandoned at the same time.

  • i fuckin miss old wow : (((( the expansion sets suck

  • @LordPetee stop living in the past fanboy. Vanilla was the worst.

  • @Reloading26 Bc was the best exp i agree vanilla wasnt all that good

  • @Reloading26 nah

  • @Reloading26 game sucks period Bro

  • @Massflavour First of all, I don't even know you so don't call me bro. Second of all, Vanilla and BC are the WORST. The lore is shit, and the grinding is horrible. Wrath and Cata, on the other hand, are amazing.

  • @Reloading26 did you play vanilla and bc on your own? found raids and/or made pvp?

  • @TollereRandoms I played it how I wanted it. My fav expansion ever is Wrath. Everything about I love.

  • @Reloading26 i asked you wether you played them both or not.

  • Duskwood. My favourite place.

  • Damn Duskwood, you scary!

  • For some reason it seemed that I liked to kill mobs in the path of Mor'Ladim....

  • I bet that hobbit is STILL in that shack!

  • this song is very scary especially in a haunted forest like duskwood

I was there at level 15

  • damn nature! you scareh!

  • Duskwood was my favourite zone :( I would sometimes just reroll and look forward to doing it again :p

  • this is the best place in the game

  • I remember getting stuck at lvl 23 I had to go to this zone and I played late night just scared me =P

  • @Jorhe234

I remember getting my ass kicked by 2 hordes there... Good times.

  • wew....nice

  • Every time I was near duskwood I went there just to hear that piano bit....

  • @VampirePrinc3 i remember when i was a noob and i LOVED duskwood the atmosphere was so soothing i miss that newbie feeling =( the feeling of everything being new and awe inspiring such a huge world full of unexplored splendors it felt as if i was in one of the fantasy books i loved to read, now i got lvl 80's and everything is a challenge as opposed to an expierience, if only i could go back to the noob days

  • Stalvan, zombies, skeletons, graveyards, haunted trees, foggy depths, Night Watch patrol, Mor'Ladim, Stitches, and "red names" is what Duskwood was all about.

  • @budman533 i remember when i was a noob and i LOVED duskwood the atmosphere was so soothing i miss that newbie feeling =( the feeling of everything being new and awe inspiring such a huge world full of unexplored splendors it felt as if i was in one of the fantasy books i loved to read, now i got lvl 80's and everything is a challenge as opposed to an expierience, if only i could go back to the noob days

  • @Tavarith I think now you know you played this game too much...xD

I was talking about the music not how bonded I was with the game (like most of the WoW players are)

  • @VampirePrinc3 i quit the game three months ago

  • @Tavarith Good good...join the club xD

  • @VampirePrinc3 yupp =) i quit to devout all my time to being an MMA fighter ,but that urge to sign on and check out whats goin on with my buds and possibly do some pvp still bugs me, i might consider going back once cataclysm comes out....awe who am i kidding i cant fuckin wait for cat =/

  • duskwood..one of ma fave zones

  • This is one of my favorite in game musical compositions.

  • creepy 0.0

  • Ooo whats this, Duskwood? Well I guess if I take the main path nothing will get me-Stiches crits you for 1000 (crushing).

  • this music is just perfect for this dark forrest!

brings me back years when i was a human warrior!

first lvl'ing in elwynforrest than redrige mountains and THAN thad bridge

over that water to Duskwood !! i love it all those memories !! cheers

  • it is scary if ur home alone and it's midnight and u got no lights turned on in ur house and you're playing wow, leveling in the.... duskwoods

  • worse than spiders, wolves, and stiches.. Mor' Ladim man if you didnt watch your back damn elite would 2 shot you xD

  • @Snowwyangel OMG! I know, I hated Mor'Ladim! My priest would be sitting down drinking, and BAM! *dead* Lol.

  • who hasn't fell off their chair at least once while in this zone just haven't been playing wow properly =P

  • This brings back memories; level 19 and freaked out by the creepy music, i was running down the path to Raven hill and a spider attacked me, i fell off my chair.

  • @Yanchea

I can relate to this, I was in EF (level 6) and I see skulls so i go over there and get 1 shoted, then in westfall (level 20) I see this dark spooky place and I go in there.

  • @Yanchea ahhahahahhahahah that made me lol so hard.

  • @Yanchea Amen to that brother.

  • when i went through Dsukwood, the music and the creatures scared me half to death! it was so Fricken scary one time, i was alone, Level wut, like... idk but i was a low level... (How stupid of me) And they were creeping me out! really

  • ahhh this used to scare the crap out of me when i'd run through duskwood... spiders and wolves, and stitches oh my! good memories

  • @1Lilbec yeah.. the time when u still had to run around in the creepiest forest to get somewhere :(

  • best theme. always takes me back to beta days :(

  • 0:10 - 0:24 scary!!

  • this is tirisfal glades music too =D

  • @CrRaZzy0oGRreEn that place really creeped me out, when i was younger an undead was my first guy and i was in a lightless basement and was traumatized by that

  • Once i walked in duskwood with my headphones on and heared the sound of the opening door, looked up to my door and saw it was closed. I was like WUT >? then i realised it was the ambient of duswood.

  • someone convert this to mp3 plzzz

  • It would be cool if Duskwood changes as it was before in Cataclysm. But still, the place is awesome with gouls, skeletons and stuff. :D

  • i remember in TBC when we didn't have mounts till level 40, i'd go back and forth to Darkshire following that one road and it was all dark and I'd just be running and listening to the music

    good times :)

  • i was exploring way back ago when i was a noob and i turned up here at a very low level so i thought about turning back but the roads had alot of deadly enemies so i had to keep searching for a village [darkshire] and i kept dying but i kept moving and when i got there i realized that there was a flight path so i took it back to stormwind

  • More like the scariest places in the game lmao.

  • i would always play dodge the lvl 35 elite in ravenkill

  • was duskwood called sunnyglade or something like that? or so i heard

  • It was called Grand Hamlet

  • Ahh Duskwood :D Great memories! Levelled 3 Alliance toons thru this zone. Horde would always gank at Raven Hill Cemetery and i remember always heading back to town along the northern woods to avoid being ganked along the road lol. i remember being very new to the game and saying in General something like "a ?? Tauren just past me!!" reply: "epic mount?" me: "i dunno.. but it was a BIG mount!!" haha

  • Hahaha. I did the same. Cool memories! :-)

  • sunnyglade!!

  • I stayed in Westfall until everything in there was gray to me because Duskwood scared me that much o.o

  • @Warcraftian93

I was scared for a while when I was low leveled, because stuff would pop out of nowhere and scare me. x)

  • The quests in duskwood were EPIC! I mean really, really great. I remember going there, from westfall so that i first entered ravenhill and i thought it was so scary.. But I totally fell in love with it.

  • Everyone's always talking about how WoW sucks now because it's not the same as it was. It could be better, but if it were the same as it was before, no one would be playing it. Something has to change to keep people interested. There aren't too many games out there I can honestly say I'd play for 5 years and not get bored.

I've taken a few extended breaks between expansions and it always feels like a new game. Cataclysm will do the same to a larger extent. It's a gamble, but I welcome change.

  • @freezerbabies indeed even if i do not enjoy the expansion i do the best i can to explore and make myself enjoy it but duskwood tirisfal and silverpine forest has to be the best area ingame imo :)

  • Vanilla WoW + Blood Elf Death Knight + Nightsaber = My WoW life would be perfect. No wrath and BC, except for the BE DK. Those are the only things.

  • i heard this music when i was a n00b in the tirisfal glades!

  • i started wow on august 2006.

first i played a human warrior

when i got 20 friends told me to go to duskwood and so i did, first i really felt restive, after that bridge when all turned dark and after you had this ololol-effect (pure epic )but after a while i felt in love with that zone and with about 30 i met an old friend i started playing with and we always said " lets start lvling an alt and lets go to duskwood ;> "

  • its a game, it cant be scary:S but yeah similar story as mine:D

  • god.. i wish i played more in pre-bc i did only for a week because TBC exp was commingt out :(

  • Duskwood has to be by far the creepiest place in Azeroth. Especially if it's raining.

  • I remember coming here on my hordie around level 50ish just to chill out, and it was about 3am for me, raining in game and irl and the only noise being this music. VERY unsettling :P

  • yeah and after that you return to your town and enjoy the atmosphere after that adventure, right? :D

  • Man, old memories... I was like afraid like shit when i first entered

  • lol! same XD

  • same here. everyone in my guild said the same thing. Duskwood was Halloween 365 days a year.

  • I remember being completely new to this game as a Human mage, I got chased by gnolls, swam across river, and died by duskwood wolves. So I talked to the spirit healer and once I rezzed I was like, Oh shit, this isn't Elwynn! Where am I? This place is scary!

  • Oh, if only Blizzard brought back vanilla... By bringing back I don't mean remaking good old 60s content into 80s, but really BRINGING it back...

  • They cant. And i hate to say it but its just nostalgia talking to you..I miss vanilla too then i realize.. What the hell back then it was totally crappy. Just look at all the new stuff now its just as good its just not nostalgic.. But were going back to azeroth in cataclysm sure some of the zones are going to be destroyed but most of them are only going to be slight changes. And others will be practically gone but still..

  • I dont want them changing the zones permanently. I will miss all the old things. Itll be fun to see but then youll want the original things back, too.

  • It wouldn't work

They'd have to make so many changes in talents and instances to make sure it even was challenging. As of right now, all of the talents that we can get are arranged so we do a lot more damage. Back in the day you had to take a lot of dumb ones to actually push out DPS. The bosses were pretty bland, simplistic, and boring. Sure, there were 40 people, but there were forty people. A lot more room for idiots and loot whores.

  • wow..

dusk wood is what made me buy the game.

I LOVED the world of warcraft lore.

TBC was..ok, but I lost the love for the lore

and wotlk seemed like it would bring back the lore.

It destroyed and and I only played because my friends did.

    I'm quitting.

If only I played more vanilla.

  • Duskwood is one off the coolest places to be man i love fighting the source. Man im gonna play

    again:D

  • i remember being like half terrified in stealth behind a tree as level 60 horde players were riding down the road. the atmosphere of this zone was amazing. The game lost that old world feel...i mean TBC zones were like alien landforms and wrath is a disaster

  • @Johniscoolimo dont u agree that all servers should be pvp servers just for the feeling of it? the thing u described was one of the things i loved with wow

  • @Johniscoolimo I bet we're all keen on this by now, WOTLK's areas are highly misconstrued. Also, did guys ever notice that a slowly decaying background that we all know and love as Duskwood is a neighbor to one of the most lavishly luxurious areas that's also known for it's gankerdom?: Stranglethorn Vale. We should've saw WOTLK's "disorganization" coming. xP

  • @Johniscoolimo haha yeah me 2

  • Who is that hideous creature approaching Darkshire....no! It can't be! It's.....It's.....Stitches!

  • @believer06 Not a creature, but speed hacker

  • "Worgen in the woods" - I remember those mobs had an aggro-range of Doom!

  • I know! Ahh that quest was awful D:

  • i remeber geting scared like crazy in that graveyard when mor'ladim snuck up on me i almost pissed my pants

  • OMG! this makes me wanna play wow again so badly. I remember being like lv 30 and going to duskwood. Im gonna cry, Brings back good memories. Might start playing again soon.

  • Don't, warcraft is a huge mess right now.

If you like the lore in warcraft, you will be very sad.

  • i love creepy ambience like this it brings the whole feeling to duskwood's emptiness

  • Ugh i hated darkshire

  • Duskwood is my favorite place to level.

  • yeah this is undead starting area to

  • No it's not its a 18-30ish zone with mainly Ally quest.

  • um, i mean its the undead starting arena music to...

  • Yeah I just forgot I haven't played horde in sometime, my bad.

  • Together with raining, the music creates a really scary undead atmosphere in Duskwood and Silverpine.

  • ya i know it was one of the creepiest areas in the game. i loved it

  • i hated duskwood :(

so i went to wetlands instead

  • i didn't do much in the wetlands, maybe one or two quests, then i went to Ashenvale :P

  • this music i think is also in either silverpine forest or tirisfal glades

  • When you listen to this, picture a level 80 deathknight(me) comming to gank your level 21 ass.

  • You and everyone else.

  • a little boy wihtout any friends picking his nose and ganking 21 noobs cuz he sucks dick in real life. thats what i actually picture when im readin your shit.

  • ganking my ass so i learn how to gank yours once i'm level 80! :)

  • so many memories when i hear this

  • this will always be up there with the best songs in the game. adds that slight air of mystery to duskwood.... one of my favorite zones

  • Duskwood is my favorite zone!the music fits in with it....and strange thing,i accidently found it when exploring!LOL!loved it ever sence

  • ty so much!!
