I have a Synsonics drum for sale if anyone is interested. I would not even begin to understand how to mod it. But for someone who wants to dabble in that stuff ... it's for sale.
Nice hook up. i've yet to try the trigger mods but even without them the 505 is a good machine to mod. i've got a real beat up 505 here i've yet to crack open but from looking at what you've done here i reckon it's gonna' be making some yamaha dd6, 7 and 8's it's bitches very soon :)
VERRRY Kool! Seems like this might ACtually be useful musically.. unlike a lot of the circuit bending guys, who seem to be more into making weird noises. Must have taken quite a while to do this, from the looks of the # of switches on the top.
Also I recommend that you download some basic electronics books. It'll help you understand the basics of what all the components on the circuit board do.
If this is your first project then you'd probably be better off finding a cheap casio style keyboard and starting there as they're a bit harder to damage.
Hello 9eyeh8chu9, the good folks at 'burnkit2600' have loads of mods for the synsonics and the tr-505. Be careful with modding the synsonics though, they are a bit fragile and the chips are easily damaged.
It has a few cool sounds on it like the snare, the bass click track, and the adjustable pitch tom all sound alright. Its just every time I look at it I know it could probably be soo much cooler but while Im electronically inclined on a basic level I cant find much on the web for bending/modding these things and dont have enough of my own knowledge to tackle it myself. Where should a beginner bender start to cop some knowledge?.
hi, are you resolved the problem of the drum muting of the TR505 when triggering the corresponding sound ?
bye

Who says weird noises can't be useful musically?

The difference between noise and music is ALL in YOUR (closed-minded) head.

I have one of those synsonics "drum machine"s.

Yes you can. I think you can record three short loops.
I just wanted to add some analog drums to the bent 505, so never really played much with the synsonics sequencer.

can you make a drum loop on the synsonic without using the tr-505

Not quite the first......... i did a similar thing with a casio sk-200, but unfortunately it died shortly after!

awesome! This may be the world's first circuit-bent drum trigger sequencer!
