  • Green is the new red.

  • They had a big wind turbine farm paid for by the stimulus in Texas and the mills were produced in China and shipped over her to be installed. Why weren't they made here? The story was on ABC nightly news.

  • I would guess that the cost of production here would outweigh the costs overseas, so turbines would be too expensive to invest in and receive little returns.

  • I can understand that from a business perspective in a free market situation. The production was funded by our taxpayer dollars. China does well enough making profit from our debt and trade surplus, they don't need more from American taxpayers.

  • American Companies take advantage of China's lax environmental and labor laws which allow underpayment of workers and pollution of the environment. They have production over there because it is cheaper and helps bottom line. Is this right? From a free market standpoint it is. From other perspectives, probably not. But it is what it is.

  • Agreed.

  • @bertly71

Because Texas wasn't willing to wait for the order to be built. Of course this is the same state that said they lost a couple power plants during Katrina and had to charge us more for the energy they produced and PROMISED the people that as soon as they had fixed the generators that were damaged, they would lower the cost of the power back to normal.

IT NEVER HAPPENED. And we're still paying outrageous prices for gas and power.

So FUCK TEXAS!! Lying greedy mother fuckers! EAT A DICK
