i believe this research is faaaar more important than the song.. Liam, great work.. Can you update with a picture of how it looks today, 6 years later? I would appreciate it.. Ana
Amazing! How many frames did you shoot...365? What kind of camera and housing did you use? In awe over your commitment to this project! You captured something amazing here. Great job!!! =)
Hahaha my teacher Mr Doherty Showed us this... we prefered it to the other class... cause we are the squirralsquad :L:L People that go to SRCC will understand what I mean if they have mr doherty :L:L x And IM loving the song BTW ;)
It's great to see you've found this art project useful for your science project but I'm disappointed that you did not credit the artist who created this.
The artist is Bettina Furnee and the project is "Lines of Defence". On ifever.org.uk is an HD version, film version (that has been shown in various galleries) and the original hi-res images. Credit should also go to Simon Frazer for the words and Dylan Banarse for the digital time-lapse photography and Sarah Bateman for web site.

This shows that continents are not as old as science say, if it takes 17 m in 1 year then it would take 59 yrs for 1000 m = 1 km; it takes aprox 60.000 yrs to wash away 1000 km; because England is surrounded by water + is aprox 1000 km length + is the smallest aprox 150 km it would take in between 9000-30.000 yrs to wash away England entirely. Which "wise scientist" would argue that this earth is billions of years old. + that continents are 100-s of milions of years old ?
You should take in mind that this footage shows erosion of this particular mixture of materials. It looks like pretty soft material to me, like clay. If you've got a hard rock coast, the erosion process is a lot slower.
well Im not a super-expert thats true; but the film above shows clearly to me that it happens rapidly. And this is not the only erosion situation on this planet that happens very rapidly.
but thing is this type of erosion is not the only one there is erosion due to rivers as well and i made some movies about that on my own account about sediments and missing delta;s. thing is that geological processes are more rapid than regular science admits; this shows that the times of history are different thatn people think it is; billions of yrs shrink to just a coulple of 1000 of yrs. I have no problem with that; do you ?
but not being a super expert doesnt mean that one cant figure things out for himself and if I see that world wide this fenomena is taking place then it rises some serious question about what regular science want to put across to you and me; things that are simply not true: world wide coastalerosion shows that continents are not as old as science claims they are; they simply can't be. coasts are eroding way much faster than continents are claimed to be old. they're not milions of yrs old cant be
How much money did the project cost? REally good, opened my eyes to how much erosion affects us. I've shown my class this, and they are interested, but the quality of the video made it difficult to see.
You should upload a slower version...with the same pictures, but slowed down---each shot a second or so. The contrast between the light pictures and the dark pictures makes it difficult to watch. But a really good effort.
this is gonna be for my 6th garde project
