I saw one that was about two meters in length, and it was fast! Once it ran off the road and into the grass it was played dead and never moved while we were there.
My friend and I saw one with his head stuck in a fence here in Bangkok and we had to help the thing.Horrible looking but not aggressive towards us. It was huge aswell,maybe 6ft long.
Dude did you even see the video with the Monitor Lizard vs Cobra? the lizard tail whipped the shit out of it and the only reason why he let the cobra have the eggs was because he already ate them all. Yea Niles dont live in Bangkok they live in Africa since they word "Nile" comes from the river they live close to. Btw what kind of pythons do you see eating Monitor lizards in Bangkok?
@terickfic Every time I came upon one it has run off except in Bangkok in the park in town - they just ignore people and walk around by the lake. BIG 7 foot+ thick ones. I think they are not aggressive toward humans - ever. I've never heard of someone having a problem with one - causing injury. Anyone know any different??
@thaipulsedotcom you absolutely right.see my post above.I have killed 10 foot lizards also called GUISHAP in India.They are timid creatures except for the ones in Indonesia

Thats not a nile monitor, the markings are all wrong, it looks like a sub adult water monitor. Nile monitors are from Africa, not Thailand anyways.
fattommy16 1 year ago
@fattommy16 it's a Bengal monitor, Varanus bengalensis nebulosus. That subspecies is also known as the clouded monitor.

@terickfic They are fine.. Komodo Dragons have deadly bacteria in their saliva that can kill a human. Monitor lizard don't have anything of the sort.
bknghiem 10 months ago
@bknghiem yea they do have poison is just very small amounts of it so they cant actually kill with it

@terickfic
Komodo dragons are actually a genera of Varanids (monitor lizards).

Small snake. There's a reason most snakes don't survive to adulthood.
