i love this song - those back up vocals that come in at "a once upon a time" give me shivers every time - i will never understand why elton fired the band after this album - nigel and dee never sounded better
An excellent video for an amazing song. This album pretty much WAS my summer of '75. Everyone had either the vinyl or 8-track so it was heard everywhere. I can still remember riding around singing "Oh Oh,Oh, Oh.........." at the top of our lungs. It was a wonderful time and thank you for taking me back for a brief moment.
Thanks my friends for such kind & encouraging words! This was definitely Elton's classic, most talented and kickA lineup.....Davey Johnstone, Dee Murray, Nigel Olsson, and Ray Cooper, WOW!, these guys could PLAY! Plus Gus Dudgeon's always outstanding production, you must hear the 30th Anniversary remaster, if you've not!
It seems that once massive reverence and respect for classic EJ has been fading...not sure why as it really can't get much better than classic Elton!?
Dear Jon, well well :-) I didn'tt know this song as I always am/was associating EJ and the year 1975 to his little hit *Someone saved my life tonight* (for me several years after 1975 the best ever produced song).. I just have had a view on Wikipedia tonight, and I see that *Curtains* is from the same album! What an extraordinary video you have made on this song. This is done with so much love for the song! Really amazing, and of course I fav'ed it immediatly!!! Cheers and Peace, my Friend!Ludo
I'm wishing you can hear the other brilliant songs Elton John released on his Captain Fantastic album, Ludo! Yes, "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" was the big hit, but this is one of those albums where you can imagine ever single song might have been a hit if released as a single.
I'm very happy that you enjoyed the video for this beautiful song.....and it's thrilling to think that maybe a few people might find this beautiful song because of my video!
Thank you my friend for always being there to watch and comment on my video efforts! Elton is definitely one the greatest artists ever to have recorded rock and roll music.
WOW fantastic for sure! Love the scarecrow dancing. OZ is great but not as great as your video.
fantastic Job Jon!! Thumbs up!
