I downloaded the Cyw00d Jailbreak Helper that you recommended, put the iPod in DFU mode, but when I go to Step 5 of the Cyw00d program and try to upload the DFU file, I get a message that says iRecovery.exe has stopped working, and I can't get passed it. you have to go into itunes on ur computer and connect ur ipod/phone then click on ur ipod/phone and click restore.

@anoozp u need to restore your ipod and update it to the lates firmware go to spiritjb(.)com and download it run it and it will jailbreak any device even on 3.1.3 firmware but tbh Cydia runs smoother on 3.1.3

wow this took forever so i came up with my own method

all you have to do is...

1) hold down home for 5 seconds

2) hold down home and power for 10 seconds

3) release power and hold home for 25 seconds

4) restore in itunes and rejailbreak if you like

I had the same thing happen to mine three times. If you're lazy like me, your warranty's still covered, just don't tell them that you attempted to jailbreak it. If you have a warranty, they have no choice to repair or replace it.
