In retrospect, the problems of education in underserved, underperforming elementary and high schools throughout the continental United States would be well addressed and eventually diminished by having a one week retrospective of selected films from Charles Burnett's vast repertoire. Essentiallly, his philosophy of life as a thinking, feeling, sensitive, concerned human being can only serve as a role model and someone to emulate among the disaffected youth of the U.S.A.
