My daughter rescued a Jindo and we didn't know anything about their nature. But he's the smartest, fun and amazing dog I've every been around. It's almost like he's half dog and half aloof cat. I love how the dog in the video just suddenly plopped down once she got tired.

@asitmc well, actually you can, but it's really really hard from what i've heard. i've only seen a jindo twice in my life. once at a family members house in va, and once when i went to korea to visit family. but i dont think it's entirely impossible

In Korea there's a city named Jindo there are many Korean ppl breeding pure Jindo dogs but thats too far lol I have a Jindo dog and my parents brought him from Hawaii and he's purebred with license.

my jindo walks herself sometimes.  i usually thought she ran away. But about 2 hours later, she's scratching the front door.

she was trying to make friends w/ the deer and the boar family. well, it was quite the opposite actually...

Congrats. Since you are getting a pup, you can socialize your dog from early on. Our dog is near perfect around the house, but she needs some manners around other dogs.

She was my parents' dog in Korea and we brought her back when we went there for a visit. She is not a purebred dog with paper so it was possible. I believe her mother was born in Jindo island and is owned by family friend.

Jindos are not usually black, it means that it has some mixed genes, I also had a black jindo with white chest, it was a pure breed, but apprently when we took it to the vet, they said it was a lab mix.

How would a Jindo be in an apartment?

Our Jindo is doing great in an apartment setting.She doesn't do the obsessive barking with all the neighbors and carriers coming and going. She was really easy to house-train but I wish that she could have an access to a bathroom all the time for her sake. She keeps herself clean. She does shed heavily twice a year.

We do take her out for two 30 minute walks a day EVERYDAY and put in some play time considering that Jindo is a high energy breed and that she gets bored easily.
