Roger grew in Sacramento Calif. I agree with you about Rogers talent, when I knew Roger he was writing with Bobby Walmac we went to Berkley and sat on stage with Bobby. I wish he would of released some more of the songs he wrote I heard them and they were beautiful.
@inbetweentics I guess with good looks and the hair he thought he was "it" but time caught up with him and karma got him in the end, there are many who think karma is a load of rubbish, the truth is it really exists and Roger is living proof of the end.
i think i left home coz my mum and dadwouldnt let me go see him at the Countdown show. God he was a sexyBoi. Thanks for the memories Roger. Love your work, n Rest In Peace
Such a great tallent. Should have sung more songs like this. Should have sung more songs period! It's a shame that he died at such a young age. He was extremely goodlooking. Very sexy too.

I was about 10 when this was aired on Countdown and immediately fell in love with Roger. I have to say, I loved his voice at the time and I still think it is one of the best sung pop tunes of that era. Thanks for posting.
Fuck! i am truly hurt. I grew up 3 blocks away from roger, and used to listen to them practice. SPICE. California JR high. and he might have been misunderstood by the many he contacted and affected with his music, with his special charm. all i can say is i will miss him. Great , speak his mind talent. I will learn some of his songs. In Memory, Damn, the good die young.
I loved this song .... and the original video with the red jumper ... I made my mum knit me a "V" neck jumper cos I was obsessed with this bloke when I was a teen !
yes, when is this hair style going to come back in men?? and those leather pants! poor girls now ...with boys wearing either pants down to their knees or girls pants! lol..men knew how to have sex appeal back then..sad to hear Roger is gone, what a hottie.
Such a Great Song....So Sad his Life was so short...I didn't know he passed till I came to listen to this video and read other comments....RIP Roger!!
This guy had superstar written all over him. But you know what? Superstardom is darn tricky to handle. More kudos to the Beatles, the Stones, Dylan, etc., for surviving.
i have been looking for this song for years. I am so pleased that someone had this video. Is he really dead ? Not that it really matters, but I can tell from this video he had a big heart. This song will now go in my favourites and I treasure that we had a talent like roger
I think aussies liked the breezy keyboard sound on this track. Perfect song while driving in the car. I can remember as a little kid when this was a hit in Australia.
Love it. I once worked a wedding and the couple had this as their bridal waltz. It was the first time I'd ever heard it and fell in love with the song right then and there. Thanks for uploading... good old Countdown.
Thank you Sparky and Mareedez, One other tidbit of info. I believe that early on in his career he opened for Lou Rawls. I hope his remaining family members know how many people appreciated his music. I believe his brother (who also played with him as a bass player (?) and managed him (?) in the early years may still be alive. Indeed, RIP Roger!
We grew up in the same town. Got to see him rehearse with a local Chicago cover band (doing their early and challenging stuff). HIs records don't match his talent. Killer guitar player. HIs first couple of albums were with David Kahne (Voudouris & Kahne). David has gone on to produce a couple of McCartney albums, in the last few years. A major talent. Sorry more people in the world haven't heard about him.
to kickpix1965...u r right i watched the video clip of RV in the tight red jumper! Can anyone get that clip? Had a huge crush, huge on Roger V and loved the song...mareedezz
great to see this clip...I remember the version with him wearing a tight red jumper standing on some huge pedestal with a wind machine and screaming girls in the USA?
Wind machines and Dry Ice effects will rise again, well the dry ice fog won't rise! The fans will hold it all in place at knee level and reflect green light and we will marvel at the long haired pop stars seemingly floating in the heavens! Mark my words it will all be cool again.
Iam so saddened by rogers death, his music I would always praise about over and over again to all my friends. He was the best American musician to me. So sorry !!!
OMG Sparkly thank you thank you thank you ... had waited for someone to post the clip. Thank you. And thank you Roger Voudouris for the memories. God bless you RIP.
Thanks for your comment PirateSkip4.. we are aware he is dead.. that is why it says RIP in my description of the clip, top right where it says 'more info'. Happy New Year!
Thank you, verysparky. Remember the "official" clip when he was wearing a tight jumper? Sigh. When will long hair for men become fashionable again? Sad that Roger didn't have a long life.
Just a bit of harmless, nostalgic pop music stubby.. no need to get all rock and roll on us. He's got a wind machine for crying out loud. :o) Thanks for your comment.
Ahhh, it's good to know I'm not the only dag out there... I bet you guys also dig Player's 'Baby Come Back' and Eddie Money's 'Baby Hold On To Me'. Great stuff! Thanks for posting verysparkly!
