  • Get real fella!!! The Hyundai Equus is a pretty hot ride, but it won't get any play in America.....

  • I see a lot of Mercedes and Lexus copying on this car. I just don't get why anyone would spend $65k on a Hyundai which is just loaded with useless, gimmicky, features. You'll have to do a lot of explaining to your friends when you buy this car. Honestly, just stick with a 5 Series or an E Class.

  • @MrCandycaddy88 I get your point, and I happen to think the Hyundai Equus is a beautiful, well built, awesome luxury car, but its not going to get any play in America.

  • The New Hyundai Equus is a super hot car inside, and out. With that said, it still doesn't make any since for Hyundai to build, and sell a $50,000 to $100,000 luxury car. I don't know how the folks over in Korea get down, but we Americans are superficial, and materialistic. If I can afford to spend that much cash on a luxury car. I can assure you, that it won't be for a dang Hyundai.

  • @cingular0073 well ur luxury car has all the stuff this car has or more, i bet is gonna be more than 50k remember thats 50k for a NEW car. not a like new USED car!

  • My Aunt has this car and when she is on vacation we can drive it, it is so nice and the back seat is huge also it has a v8 engine so it halls ass and my dad might be buying one to so i think you guys did a really good job.

  • ホンダイって発音するなら、スペルはhondaeiとなる。

    ヒュンダイならhyundaiだ。

    日本メーカーのフリをするな!

  • once this car start to arrive in pre owned lots its going to be like lexus 90s to 00 models cant keep em in stock :)

  • it's not hyun-daiiiii, it's hyun-dae

  • @jobe011 it's hyundaiiiii in the korean accent lol

  • Equus has been in Korea for a long time.. that luxury brand has been established. They are just bringing it in to the US. This is nothing new.

  • It's amazing how FAAARRRR Hyundai has come since the 80's and even early 90's. Just think and remember the old school RED Hyundai Excel's!!!! OUCH! GOOD JOB HYUNDAI!

  • Hyundai is the best!

  • I want to give that interviewer a smack every time he says 'Hun-DIE". Did he not see the commercial: 'rhymes with Sunday'? Does he not hear he Hyundai rep pronouncing it 'hun-DAY'? I mean, get a clue. Say to yourself, "I'm about to shoot a video about a Hyundai, so I'm going to make sure I'm pronouncing it correctly." No...not this guy.

  • I work at the lexus dealership.. i thought lexus was the best but man hyundai is catching up! i can honestly say that they are beating us!!

  • YAY for Hyundai... Good job with the Equus, and keep these quality products coming along.. Everyone doesnt want to be noticed by driving a BMW, MB, or Lexus product, so this is a great alternative....Some of the wealthiest folks in america dont drive what you think...Some folks would like to spend their money elsewhere instead of on a car..And why pay $80k for a vehical, and not even get "common things standard", lol....good job HYUNDAI

  • what the hell is the hydrolics there for?

  • Hyundai is so gay, and just so crappy! How dare they make a car to compete with the invincible Mercedes S-class! And the Equus just looks so cheap inside and out!! You can tell the interior wood is such cheap quality, and at that price I would so much rather buy the BMW 5 series or Benz E-class... People forget Hyundai is a crappy Korean company!

  • @skizzle94 and Mercedes is an overpriced ego tripping car, prone to failure because of its many complicated systems. And when things do fail get ready to pay big time to those overpriced mechanics. For the money Hyundais are much better deals in just about every market segment they have cars in.

  • @skizzle94 That's why they are in the top selling automobile industry.

  • @skizzle94 Why do you think it's cheap? I'm really curious. I got to sit inside this beauty at the 2011 car show in Toronto. I was very happy with the roominess of it, and since it has both front and back heated (and massaging!) seats, I was instantly sold. While I can't afford a luxury car right now, my uncle purchased the 2011 E350 coupe last year, and I enjoy it too. The only problem I have with it is getting in the back seat, it's difficult!

  • They do use real leather, but when you compare with Lexus and MB, you'll immediately notice that they use lower quality leather. Obviously, they had to sacrifice something to keep the price lower. And whats up with legrest and massage is only available on right rear seat? No power door closer option. No Communication or SOS option. Unacceptable for "Luxury" car.

  • Buying this car is like you are telling people everytime you drive that you bought Equus because you cant afford LS, A8, 7 series or S-Class. I saw Equus ultimate at dealer. It was not impressed. It does have some nice features for lower price, but nothing innovative. Just same tech things we all have seen. Hyundai relies on buying car parts and technology from Japan, and it shows in this car. Nothing new, just value and lower price.

  • Can they throw chauffeur with no extra charge?

  • personally hyundai? wow i do really love the combination

    Mrcedes/Buick/Nissan.

I did not like either of these 3 brands, but i can see this is nicley put together

  • its hyon-dae u redneck basterd

  • @AlwaysWaveHello

    yeah hyun-dae like sundae

  • @sjsj1337 and just as sweet a treat

  • The Equus has been around in Korea for years. Americans are just seeing it for the first time...

  • This equus will destroy the sedan genesis from the market, its better looking and alot better from the interior

now they should cancel the sedan genesis and leave the coupe genesis in the market

  • @alalal420 this question is will people buy a 60k hyundai? my guess is no

  • @jaydogg321 I asked my self this question, why they didn't use the hyundai symbol on the car,its like they are ashamed of it or something

so yea,60k is kinda alot for a hyundai

  • @alalal420

Did you read what you wrote? That makes no sense. Two different size cars, to different segments, two different price point. Not to mention totally different driving dynamics.

  • @metalgate let's face it,we can't compare hyundai to Mercedes,cause Mercedes is luxury

Genesis was huge success cause of the cheap price, but this one is alot higher in price and I know it's bigger and bla bla but in the end it's hyundai

  • i really think hyundai should make a separate luxury brand. I can't see some bragging about their $65k Hyundai lol

  • Imagine coming out of a nice restaurant with your date and saying to the valet; "Young man bring me my Equus please."

This will do until Cadillac Releases the XTS Platinum and the Omega Flagship around 2015.

  • @Cargo1273 i doubt we'll see the XTS IMO...

  • look at the number plate on 3:04 its 007 :D

  • This is bullshit I love Mercedes and I wouldnt buy this car Hyundai cant expect people who can afford this car to buy it ITS A HYUNDAI!!

  • No matter what the anti-Hyundai folks say here Hyundai will find enough patrons for Equuses.

  • Fact 1: This is a great car

Fact 2: Say good-bye to Lexus

Fact 3: Mercedes is still best!

  • hecka cool

  • I think if they really wanted to appeal to a lot of luxury car buyers, they'd have to start a new division. Most luxury car buyers just wouldn't want to say they drive a Hyundai. It's amazing, however, how far the brand has come from making hideous cheap cars in the 80's & 90's to what they've become now.

  • Comment removed

  • I like this car, but I don't think it will be well received in the States.

  • @kiro1990122 I think that it could be very well received here in the US, but from the upstart, they cannot begin at the price point Hyundai is asking. This car, fully loaded is pushing in the upper 50 grand range. That's high enough to sway people to a mid level Lexus or even Mercedes. I think they are doing well, but not at the level where they can command the cost of the car against other brands.

  • Goodbye Acura and Lexus, you were awsome in the 90s but now are overly bloated and ugly, so HELLO Hyundai! wow

  • @Niche79

I'm glad you like Hyundai better than Lexus and Acura.

Enjoy your car that is from a company with absolutely no racing history, no heritage nor a status symbol.

Oh by the way, Hyundai uses a lot of Japanese parts. Without them, they can't make crap. Pretty obvious.

And good luck telling people "I drive a Hyundai!"

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

Hyundais aren't created for the pretentious type. They are created for a person who just wants a good car, I understand people are very shallow as of late. But personality > what brand car they drive.

Does racing history, heritage or status make a car objectively better? No, because none of that applys to whether a car is good or not.

Some people are willing to shell out 20k more for subjective values and to fullfill egotistical values. But Hyundai buyers aren't.

  • @UltimoImperio

Let's see, what kind of people buy a Hyundai?

The people who like the 10 year warranty deal

The people who wants a new car, but can't afford the Japanese cars

The people who do not care about the cars. Nor history nor heritage of it.

No racing history means the automaker has nothing to be proud of in the motorsports world. Meaning Genesis Coupe is nothing but just a sports car for people who can't afford cars like 370Z, STI, Evo, Mustang GT500 and so on.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

The thing is, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe does very well much the same job as the other cars you've mentioned.

Hyundai is for people who want a car that is pretty much 95% of the Japanese cars, at 60% of the cost. The other 5% is the subjective stuff like heritage, badge and motorsport. Who says people can't care about Hyundai? They work, and work well. As long as you can do what you want to do in a Hyundai, why do you need racing heritage and a status symbol?

  • @UltimoImperio

Uh, I'm sorry, but I've never heard of GC having an AWD like STI or Evo, and when was the last time GC was compared to a Lamborghini? Evo was, by Top Gear. I can see you don't know much about the cars like Evo, STI, 370Z and Shelby and so on, but I'm sorry, GC can't even come close when it comes to performance compared to them. GC barely can be compared to Mustang GT(Non-Shelby) and Infiniti G37, NOT Evo or STI or Shelby. Come back when you know something more.

  • @UltimoImperio

If racing history nor heritage do not matter, then no automaker would even feel the need to invest so much money just to compete with other cars on the places like Nurburgring.

If you really have the nerve to spend 60,000 ~ 80,000 dollars for a "Hyundai", then I must say you must be a hardcore Hyundai fan. Because really, even the similarly priced Acura RL is not doing well, and what makes you think "Hyundai" would?

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

I'm going to tell you that I like old BMW and Mercedes Benz cars. I haven't been impressed with their offerings after 1999. They just aren't as special build quality wise and engineering wise as they used to be, I would have agreed with you if this was 1989. But not now, they have just as much plastic, just as much cheap materials, if not more, than a Hyundai Genesis Sedan.

I find you are supporting them to make a lower quality car, because only heritage + status matter

  • @UltimoImperio

Equus is not even out yet, is it? We will see how many people are willing to pay 70,000 dollars for this overpriced Hyundai.

I do like the European cars at all, get the facts right. I am only saying "people" prefer those European cars because of status symbol. Is Audi R8 a fast car? No, compared to Nissan GT-R, not at all, but people still prefer R8. That's why in Hollywood, I don't know a celebrity driving a GT-R instead of R8 but I know tons driving an R8.

  • @UltimoImperio

Mercedes Benz and BMW used to be able making a fucking great car, now it's more about working around their badge to make money. Look at Toyotas offerings, their plastics are very low grade now, and look at their recalls. But people still buy them, I'm sure you know why. Because people believe in Toyota reliability with a passion.

It is good Hyundai are stepping up to the plate because they are going to push luxury brands to make their cars 'better', more than subjectively.

  • @UltimoImperio

Uh, Toyota reliability is a PROVEN one. I can see you are some sort of Hyundai nut, but I'm sorry, when was the last time Hyundai made an SUV that is widely used by the government officials? W.H.O., United Nations, Saudi Royal Families and those African workers/military forces use only one truck and that is Toyota Land Cruiser. Because of its proven capability and reliability, they only use this for going to deserts, war zones, etc. Who uses a Hyundai? Hmm?

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

I'm not a Hyundai nut, I just like the Genesis for what it brings people for the price. I like Lexus, Volvo and Cadillac a lot more than Hyundai.

I'm just trying to say that Toyota isn't as good as it used to be anymore, and because everyone follows Toyota as the world leader in cars, everyone else will slacken off too.

And just because Hyundai made a few fairly good cars you start bagging it off for the name, I support them.

  • @UltimoImperio

Look at Japanese cars back in the 1960's, everyone thought they were pieces of shit too. In the 80's they improved and dropped the 'shitty' side of it. and now they are fucking world class cars which do just as well, if not better than German cars (considering the price is the same)

I support Korean cars (Well not the shitty ones) But Hyundai, because you may never know, if Hyundai keeps the effort up they will be the new Japanese. They will be world class too, and innovate

  • @UltimoImperio

Then every other brand will follow them just like the Japanese, and put Korean innovations, as well as German and Japanese innovations into their car. Having 3 very good countries developing cars to be better, they will all copy each other naturally and in general cars will become high standard and even more competitive. Instead of slackening off.

  • @UltimoImperio

Look at how American cars are getting better with technology and etc.

They'd just be the same if it weren't for the Japanese pushing them to be more and more competitive.

  • @UltimoImperio

People are praising Hyundai only because of Genesis Coupe. Without it, Hyundai wouldn't be getting this much of good ratings to this day.

And it's quite sad that Hyundai was this delusional. Toyota, Nissan and Honda knew the Americans wouldn't pay so much for just Toyota, that's why they made their own luxury brands, but Hyundai apparently thinks a 70,000 dollar Hyundai would work out. Let's see how many fools would pay 70k for a "Hyundai".....

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

I agree with that, but the Genesis coupe is a fair car.

Yeah it is stupid, they should have launched a seperate brand, I wouldn't pay 70k for a Hyundai for sure. They should make it a lot cheaper. They're working off the same profit margin as everyone else. Which isn't going to work with their name.

But yeah, if it was 45k, it would be worth considering. The thing that was good about Hyundai was the fact they made fairly good cars for less.

  • @UltimoImperio

I personally liked how the Hyundai Genesis Sedan offered a lot of car for it's price point. That is really the only Hyundai car I like. I'd rather have a Lexus, Volvo, even maybe a Cadillac but I still support what they are doing, they are trying you know.

Should have made a seperate brand for these cars though.

  • @UltimoImperio

There really is no such thing as a "Korean" innovation in their own cars. Let's see, the Japanese companies like Lexus, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda and so on, they proudly show their development videos to show the world how much of efforts they put into their own cars, such as Lexus LFA, Nissan 370Z, Nissan GT-R, Subaru WRX STI, Mazda RX-8 and so on, but Hyunda? Where is one like that for their Genesis sedan/coupe?

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

Yes you can say that now, they might only make a fairly good car right now with others ideas. But they will improve, and offer a good quality unique car at a lower asking price.

But it's not like everyone doesn't naturally copy each other. Look at Variable Valve Timing. VTEC, MIVEC, VVTi?

Everyone just copied someone at the start, but with that they improved on previous ideas. Hyundai is worth keeping in the car industry because they are 'trying' hard to improve.

  • @UltimoImperio

Just letting you know since you don't know, but Hyundai uses a lot of Japanese parts in their cars, and without the foreign technology, the Koreans can not make their own product. Same as Samsung. The first gen Hyundai Equus was designed by Mitsubishi Motors.

And the only American company getting better is Ford. GM is only rebadging German and Australian cars, meaning, no longer a pure American company and Fiat controls Chrysler now, Chrysler is useless.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

But with the way you think, you'd think everyone just copied Mercedes Benz idea of an Automobile in the first place. If copying things is so bad why is there more than just Mercedes Benz?

The Koreans will learn just like the Japanese did. Koreans can make their own cars albeit shitty (exactly like early japanese cars) but they will learn, it will just take time.

  • @UltimoImperio

Not sure what you'd think of this news, but well, today, Hyundai proposed that they will bring their brand to an "Attainable Premium Brand".

Meaning, their all car lineup will be more expensive than the mainstream Japanese cars like Toyota, Honda and Nissan, but less expensive than Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and those luxury brands.

Meaning, Hyundai says they will be a "Premium brand", kinda like an Acura.

    ....what do you think

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

To be honest I've never really known too much about Acura, but I think that is a fair approach for Hyundai. I don't think they are swinging too high at that range. They can't battle with Lexus though, let alone BMW or Mercedes Benz (The cars everyone with money buys, I've always liked Lexus and Cadillac better though), the LS460 is my favourite car. But just like you man, I like Japanese/American cars more than German/Euro cars (One exception is Volvo, owned by Ford)

  • @UltimoImperio

Volvo has been sold to a Chinese automaker.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

Are you serious, man that is shit.

But I just read that article and it says that Ford will be helping them until they are stable. and that they will still be making them in Sweden and Belgium, but will be trying out a Chinese factory.

But that is shit, I still like Volvo for their old cars, they were just as good as German cars, if not better. But didn't break down and were way more reliable, but no longer for the new ones.

  • @UltimoImperio

I know how yousaid the American car industry is going down, but what do you think about Cadillac (My favourite american car), Lincoln, and the new Ford Taurus?

As much as I like the Lincoln Town Car it is getting a bit old in design, if they redesigned it, still RWD and V8, large and plush. But with more technology and newer styling. It'd be a hit, people love Town Cars.

  • @UltimoImperio

I have never liked Volvo in my entire life. There is nothing so great about it to me, at all. And I don't give a rat's ass about Swedish engineering, at all. Volvo is such a fail brand to me, even more than Hyundai.

Not sure about Acura, but certainly that is what Hyundai is trying to turn their brand into apparently. An attainable premium brand.

To be honest, it's a very risky business, but I'm very much glad Hyundai is willing to do this.

  • @UltimoImperio

In fact, that will be even harder than just creating a new luxury brand like Toyota did with Lexus. Hyundai wouldn't need to spend much money compared to Toyota making their own luxury brand, but Hyundai will have to do everything they can to change the image of Hyundai.

And their strategy will be released at Detroit Motor show on Jan.

If Hyundai successfully becomes this "attainable premium brand", then that is when my doubt towards Hyundai ends.

  • @UltimoImperio

Just want to clear up anything if you think that I hate Japanese/American cars.

But I still have a feeling they will have a problem being in Acuras league, they should make a new name for their car brand.

What I mean by Toyota being not being as good as they used to, was the fact they have barely any sports cars anymore. Also, look at the 1993 Toyota Camrys 68db interior. That was almost unheard of in a common family car back then, they pushed everyone hard to compete.

  • @UltimoImperio

And sorry, if you are talking about one unintended acceleration problem, then I'm sorry, it turned out to be the drivers' fault. Chrysler had faulty seatbelt problems, and misplaced gas tank problem(which can cause an explosion if gets rear ended and kill the driver) and so on, but Chrysler never did any recall. Thanks to this, more than 10 people have been killed, but the media never tried to make a big deal out of it. And btw, Lexus, is Toyota.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

I know Lexus is Toyota but it seems Lexus never had any problems that the mainstream brand Toyota had.

I don't really give a shit about an acceleration problem, if you look more into a Toyota Camry you'll find the plastics are very thin inside the cabin. Toyota would never do that if it was 1996, and I know because their cars were more so well built back then than they are now.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS Who gives a damn about racing history or heritage...I look at value, reliablity and safety

  • @tootsiejoon

People do. There is a reason why German engineering is the standard of the automotive world, and why Mercedes-Benz is considered the most popular luxury brand in the entire world.

Let's see, value, reliability and safety? I can't really think of anything other than Acura RL and Lexus LS in that one. Even though, Lexus LS might be doing kinda well, but I've never seen a Lexus LS600h(the most expensive LS) around here. Seen 2 Acura RLs.

  • @tootsiejoon

And how much is Acura RL? Acura RL, even the highest model, can be purchased at less than 55,000 dollars USD. And it has one of the best AWD systems on the market, SH-AWD, something to be proud of as an owner. And Lexus LS, the AWD model with full options? Less than 80,000 dollars.

And yet, how much is Hyundai Equus gonna be? Equus Ultimate will be around 70,000 dollars. And tell me if YOU are going to pay that much money for a HYUNDAI. Hmm?

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

Acura RL is the size of a Hyundai Genesis Sedan, that is more a direct comparison.

Hyundai Equus is the size of a BMW 7 series, MB S Class and a Lexus LS460. I agree that Hyundai would be pushing too far if they asked 70,000 for an Equus, as Lexus LS460 is my favourite car, I will be honest and say it is most likely better, hard to beat a Lexus LS. But if it would be cheaper than that by maybe 5 thousand, it would have its place as a no fuss full size luxury car.

  • @UltimoImperio

Now I am getting your point here.

Exactly my point. How will Hyundai even JUSTIFY that price tag with their crappy brand name "Hyundai"? You see, Lexus failed, in Europe. How many people would even buy an Equus in Europe if it ever gets sold? Lexus is still trying, but as far as I know, Hyundai is not trying in Europe with their Genesis sedan. Hyundai brand doesn't even exist in Japan.

In that regard, it's hard to imagine Hyundai beating Lexus, at all.

  • @Niche79 ummm no, acura and lexus are better always have been and always will be. The lexus LS has been voted the #1 most relabile car for the past 20 year

  • @goingbuffchris i have a 05 lexus is 460 and the bitch is in the shop all the time and they dont stand behind their product never will have lexus again. Plus Hyundai isnt claim to be better just a serious contender

  • cant wait until the showroom get's one of these, missed the auto show!

  • I've owned a Benz and a Sonata, The Hyundai is by far a better made car than the Benz.. The Benz has been in the shop alot more than the Hyundai. Only thing I've had to do on my Sonata is was replace the battery. I can't say that about the Benz which is a newer car. Im very interested in the Equus as my next business auto. Hyundai has came a very long ways since the 90s.. BRAVO BOIS

  • @dallaspolo

Good luck telling ladies "My business automobile is a Hyundai"

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS No when I show them the real powerplant. Hyundai has come a long ways since the 90s

  • @dallaspolo

Let me tell you something, reliability is no longer considered one of the main things that can be a plus for a luxury brand. Lexus is by far the most reliable luxury brand on the market, and yet, compared to Mercedes-Benz, what do people think? People do not care if the German cars are as reliable as junk, they'd drive that one for the sake of image. There is a reason why the European brands are usually considered as the only "real" luxury brands in the world.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS Hey say the Equus will be around $40.000. I have seen one already and I was very impressed. I have owned a 225K car and owned a 20K car. To each there Own I guess.

  • @dallaspolo

You obviously have got the wrong info from an amateur source. The Equus Ultimate will be priced around 70,000~80,000 dollars. Do you SERIOUSLY think it will be 40,000 dollars when GENESIS is on that price? Think.

  • @dallaspolo

I see those Hollywood celebrities' cars, and let me tell you. It almost looks like the European brands, especially Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Land Rover, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin are the only ones that the super rich celebrities drive. Never seen one person driving a Nissan GT-R. No Lexus LFA so far. Only a few Lexus LS I've seen.

And how many people with money would pay 70,000~80,000 dollars for a HYUNDAI?

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

I like Lexuses newest offerings much more than any European luxury brand. They do the same job, if not better and more reliably, than any of those brands, without having to pay 50% for the badge.

I'm starting to see what you mean about 70-80k for a Hyundai, but if they can prove to be even better than Lexus, build quality and reliability wise (which will be fucking hard to do). But they are shooting too high here, maybe if the car was 10k cheaper, it would make sense.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS

I think Hyundai should keep as a brand of car that offers 95% of what the competitors have, except at 70% of the price. Because I'll be honest, I'd rather a Lexus LS than a 70-80k Equus.

  • @UltimoImperio

Correction -> I do "not" like the European cars at all.

  • @dallaspolo -- Ya, Benz, BMW, Jaguar, Porsche... they all spend way too many times in the shops and they are expensive. It is for wealthy people who don't mind spending $5,000 for a little ding in the bumpers. Hyundai makes more sense.

  • @dallaspolo which merc did you own?

  • @dallaspolo Well it depends on what type of benz you have, if you have like a c class or a glk, they're the ones that always end up in the shop, but in my opinion, i think that the s class is by far better than this car.

  • @TheTf2pro I have the S class. I have had alot of electric problems. Windows, Antenna, Locks. And Im on my 2nd transmission with less than 50K miles on it !

  • @dallaspolo Hmmm, before I got my s600 a week ago, i had a s550 and it rarely had problems, i guess it depends on the year

  • I've watched, and maybe us all have, seen Hyunadi explode with techonology, innovations, designs, and quality over the years that question why people shell out S-class money? are you buying S-class quality or the Benz badge? Hyundai shatters the theory that quality can be injected for a reasonable price, if i can get S-class, 7 series, and A8L luxury for the price of an A6, 5 series or E class then why not? their cars have proven solid and reliable for the fraction of their competition.

  • off the chain

  • looks better than a 7 series, but the interior of the 7 series is way better

  • Still a Hyundai and still going to be worth jack shit 4 years down the road

  • @mrosaine I don't know where you got that information but Hyundai resale value increased tremendously in last few years and is almost like Toyota now.

  • @mrosaine Obviously you are an anti-Hyundai Jack shit.

  • @mrosaine Not true. .They have really approved in the resale. Toyota sells have drops in New and Used sales. Look at the recalls made by Toyota and Honda auto's in the past year! ~ ~SHOCKING~ ~

  • Still a Hyundai and still going to be worth jack shit 4 tears down the road

  • Mecedes may be calling their luxury cars the European Equus sooner or later.

  • @bsp1148

Is Mercedes or anyone in this world calling their S class, a European Lexus LS? No.

If the Japanese have difficulties selling their luxury cars in the world, then Hyundai Equus has 0.9% chance of actually succeeding.

Good luck telling people "I drive a Hyundai"

  • @bsp1148 It doesn't even say Hyundai on the car. MB has been the world standard and they won't give that up. A used CPO MB, Audi, BMW or Lexus is a better value than this car. Sorry but no matter what people do buy brand and capability. This car didn't accomplish anything new. It's not quieter than Rolls Royces (Lexus Ls' are) and not as agile as a BMW or any German car (.79G). Hyundai is great at their smaller cars but leave the Luxury diivision alone.

  • Hyundai wasn't even good at smaller cars just a decade ago. Now, you say that they are. That's very encouraging for Hyundai. I believe Hyundai will do just fine with Equus. Nonetheless, I do respect Mercedes and other brands as well.

  • this is nice!! that's why Hyundai need to start a new sister name, like ACURA/Lexus/infiniti have, they have thee new models now, acura stared with two models, Lexus two models/ infiniti two models, wake up Hyundai! your going in to a new segment now! the mid 40 G's, on up, the Hyundai badge is not going to cut it on these models,

  • @rickslick730 Perhaps that is the old way of doing things (certainly the safest way), but it does involve a whole new infrastructure.

Clever marketing could help them to launch successfully into the luxury segment without the need to create a whole new brand.

  • @monk3yboy69 how is the genesis sales doing these days? hmm, ok my point, and as fare as infrastructure, Hyundai can afford it and can do it,, and i Guess there clever marketing is them not putting the hyundai badge on the front grill, lol. wow now that's going to do wale. but i guess we will see.

  • the guys talks in a wierdd tone lol

  • If they want to start making their brand a luxury one get rid of all the cars on their current line slowly and fill in with nicer cars like this one.

  • he is pronouncing "Hyundai" wrong.

  • @zoom1508 Not too many people pronounce "Hyundai" correctly. Especially after hearing a Korean pronounce "Hyundai!"

  • This is an extremely big threat to luxury automakers. This car has everything theirs have, but for $10 - 40K less. Equus brings the utmost luxury with tremendous value.

  • Hyundai has REALLY REALLY come along way!!! This is a Major problem for the other luxury brands!!

  • NO no This is the COPY MERCEDS.

  • @biyorkman

the "copy mercedes" huh? In other words, it's as good as an e-class at a price of around 50k.

  • @biyorkman

    shut up japanese

  • @sasaew don't worry about him. he'll learn from my comment on his channel

  • HYUNDAI!!! LIKE SUNDAY!!! NOT HYUNDI!!! jeez reviewer get it right!

  • @filipe3361 BRITS are even worse...they say Ha-Yun-Dai!

  • This car is sexy but it is a liitle expensive cuz cmon its a hyundai??

  • @rahilsaifi

THEN YOU SHOUL WALK ODER BETTER BUY YOURSEF A GEOMETRO

  • @rahilsaifi

Think outside of the box because keeping yourself locked into the perception of "its just a hyundai" is meaningless when its a luxury V8 that can rival many mercedes.

  • @rahilsaifi

Sorry to double reply but your statement is like saying, that girl is sexy but she's "pick your ethnicity" Which is utter bs. If its sexy, it's sexy. Plain and simple.

  • this should have touch navigation

  • this car is tight

  • hyundai like sunday

  • @candywrapp yah you are right hyundai like a sunday

  • im excited for this one, i don't care about brand prestige, as long as it performs well.

  • its like they're ashamed of putting a hyundai badge on the genesis and equus

  • @boycharger1

Considering the fact that Hyundai's name in the US is worth about 5 cents

And anyone in the know, especially Hyundai, knows that

    It's not really surprising

They should have the guts to build a new luxury brand

    But guts and Hyundai

    Just doesn't go together

  • @toyotas2006 But u know what goes togrther perfectly your toyota and RECALLS their a perfect match just do some research and u will see toyota is #1 in RECALLS. Can u please tell me why the Lexus LS which is the top of the line lexus has a recall because their steering is off centered when u drive ? Whats wrong lexus cant make a 100k car drive straight LMAO

  • @toyotas2006 just go play with your ugly ass toyota..... just make sure your brakes work

  • @valenzuelatomas1989

Better than making sure the car will start

Or get sold for more than a pack of Food Stamps

  • @toyotas2006 lexus and toyota are so lame, just like you....

  • @valenzuelatomas1989

You Mom's KNOWS I'm not lame

    She's a BIG fan

  • @toyotas2006 yeah you are, you act like a child...

  • @valenzuelatomas1989 were smarter than you i skip a grade im going to 7th grade now i want to be a ingineer that builds cars i have a bentley gt here i have to go getting to a hotel the hyundai equus 2011 rocks like crazy!

  • Forget about Lexus, compared to this Equus and the gensis coupe, lexus is shit.

  • @valenzuelatomas1989

Like compared to me, you are shit?

You can't get into either, so.........

  • @toyotas2006 haha oh yes i can....

  • @toyotas2006 why would i compared to you? when you are the shit? motherfucker..... you dream of having a lexus!

  • @valenzuelatomas1989 LMAO yes toyotas200 is a loser

  • @globalk100 i know he's stupid..... he's a hater..

  • @globalk100 be quiet loser i dont have toyota i have bentley but toyota is good enough duh

  • @OfficialKaitlynn LMAOOOOOOOOOO if u have bentley then i am BILL GATES BUHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAAHAH

  • @globalk100 yah i have a rolls royse ghost to

  • A Korean LS460, right down to the VS460 badge

Wanna bet how many LS460s they tore apart before building this?

I'm sure it's a very nice car, but why make it if you don't have the guts to do it right and build a luxury marque?

The Genesis sedan sells 15k units a year here.

Is that the "huge success" he was referring to?

I guess if this sells 5k units here, that would be like 1990 Lexus LS all over again!

(Lexus sold over 35k Lexus LS in 1990)

  • @toyotas2006 . Actually the genesis sedan in the first 6 months sold more than incoln mks cadillac sts audi A6 including S6 and sold about as much as the lexus gs so yeah i would say they did pretty good considering how bad the car industry was and still is . year to date as of november 2009 genesis sold fairly good vs their competition. only better sellers were bmw 5 series and acura TL. BTW Lexys LS cant even get their steering correct on a 100k vehicle LMAO

  • @globalk100

Hyundai Genesis is a $30-40k sedan

    Compare it to other apples

It is not a A6/Lexus GS competitor

  • looks like a car for guys who have no friends LOL. who could show this to their friends?

    nice car wat is it

    "a hyundai"

    AHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA SAD

  • Hyundai should have just created a new luxury brand but they playing cheap and that's where they are failing with the genesis and this equus. Who in their right mind would buy an hyundai for $50K when they can get a lexus, lincoln, caddy, acura, mercadez, bmw for at or around the same price.

  • @venusfan The point is that the car you would get for $50k from those brands would not be in the same segment. For $50k you get a 3 Series BMW. At $59K you can get into a base 5 Series. 7 Series is $70k. The Equus falls in between the two in size.

  • this looks like merecedes s combined with a lexus

  • It's nice but I wouldn't pay for it.

  • The presenter sounds like PORKY PIG.........

  • @STOUTYCTR He reminds me of the star gazer guy. Jack Horkheimer's Star Gazer on PBS.

  • Car seems really good. I have a suggestion for Hyundai. Even If some one pays around $50K+ for this car, they end up saying that "Hmm.. I drive a Hyundai".. So why don't Hyundai launch a sister company for luxury cars and sell this car under that name. Just like toyota sells luxury cars with brand name Lexus and nissan sells infiniti.

  • This old announcer is a fag... Wonderful car though.
