This is Studio 33, same as TPIR, now known as the Bob Barker Studio. Anybody know why they have the back part of the audience walled off, which they never did for TPIR?
Thanks for posting this! I saw it when it was new and have never seen it since! Never lucky enough to catch it on GSN. I was in 4th grade at the time, and for some reason it has stuck with me.
RIP Mark Goodson and Bill Todman, we miss you and all your game show buddies miss you, but Ray and Bert and Gene, and others who worked with you are with you.
@mrmatchgame: I really don't understand why you didn't clarify point B. of your introductory paragraph. A.) is by no means true, Match Game '90 and Match Game '98 were both fine shows, and the '90 series ended in 1991, not 1992, the year Goodson died. B.), well, if you're referring to Match Game '98 you're right, as it ended (I believe) in the fall of 1999, and Gene died in November of 1999.
@msu2k9 "Match Game '98" was a piece of ____ that should have never made it to the air - it made a black eye in the legacy of both "Match Game" and Mark Goodson himself!
Isn't it ironic that Mark Goodson says that he would need a new MC in 1999, and Gene Rayburn died in 1999? "When it gets to be Match Game 99, I'll need a new BLANK."
I have you all beat I was born on Nov 7, 1976 I was only two months old! :) My wife was born in Dec 17th 1978 and I showed that funny christmas epi that would of came out a week after she was born :)
Here's yet another way this is kinda sad: This is the last sign-change episode to feature the whole Match Game "gang" of Gene, Brett, CNR, and Richard. (Brett would be off doing theater work during the '77-'78 switch, and of course Richard was gone by the end of '78.)
@ryanschroer Exactly. Even in '78 right before the Wheel came, he was alive & into it, though I would probably give him the fact he might have been tired of shuttling between two shows. Still, the claws had not come out just yet.
Problem is that I'm pretty sure at this point the Star Wheel was being used. Richard did not enjoy that very much as it means that he was not being picked as much for the Final Match.
Not to mention that Richard Dawson and Mark Goodson had so much legitimate hatred towards each other at the end of it that he had Mark Goodson barred from the Family Feud set.
You would think, but Family Feud was such a rating's winner and money grab that firing Richard Dawson was easier said than done.Instead, when Family Feud got canceled in 1985 and renewed in 1988,Mark Goodson vowed that Richard Dawson would never work for him ever agsain until his death and sure enough,Mark Goodson died in 1992.
At the end, someone REALLY messed up on the credit roll.

I have seen most of the sign changes except for when 75 became 76 and when 78 became 79. Do you have those that you could upload?

mrmatchgame, there is also a third count by which this is sad. Mark Goodson died in 1992, seven years before the question, so to speak.
