Now I don't need an excuse to speed, but if ever there was a good one, wouldn't it be for a medical emergency? Secondly, Just because vehicles can go 70 MPH +, doesn't mean they can do it safely in heavy traffic. Emergency vehicles are equipped with lights, sirens and high visibility stickers. As well, there are different rules of the road in relation to right of way for emergency vehicles. People are aware of these rules

Let me get this straight, this elderly man was speeding and failed to stop for a police officer, the officer finally pulls him over, and not only are the charges dropped, but the officer loses his job. What is wrong with this country. The elderly driver was clearly in the wrong, what was the cop supposed to do, say "have a nice day, continue going 90mph to the hospital?" If you are that sick, call an ambulance. You have medicare, you are just too cheap to pay the co-pay.

1. Stop the vehicle and see what's the rush.
2. When he is told that someone needs to be at a hospital then
3. Escort the vehicle to the nearest hospital.

Secondly, Just because vehicles can go 70 MPH +, doesn't mean they can do it safely in heavy traffic. Emergency vehicles are equipped with lights, sirens and high visibility stickers. As well, there are different rules of the road in relation to right of way for emergency vehicles. People are aware of these rules

Let me get this straight, this elderly man was speeding and failed to stop for a police officer, the officer finally pulls him over, and not only are the charges dropped, but the officer loses his job. What is wrong with this country. The elderly driver was clearly in the wrong, what was the cop supposed to do, say "have a nice day, continue going 90mph to the hospital?"
