  • @weightfeather1 aiight let me know what she exactly said

  • Does anyone else think of Bob Dylan when they hear this?

  • @amysita77 Interesting that you mention Dylan. I am in the midst of reading Nyro's biography and she was quoted over the years as citing Dylan ( among others ) as her role models. No one making music like LNyro these days...our loss.

  • thanks Chrys554 I am still (3 years later) later waiting for her recognition...

  • the only female songwriter Joni Mitchell felt was her better

  • @ecom131 Love Joni's "Court and Spark" album! I enjoyed a summer romance to that album...about three thousand years ago Haha!

  • the only female songwriter Joni Mitchell felt was her serious competition- in fact she thought she as better

  • Laura was the best. She got a raw deal.

  • Love the background vocal voicing....this is actually from "More Than a New Discovery", her 1st album, in 1966. She was a brash 19! What a talent.

  • Everything she was came through her voice loud and clear - never met her, but I feel as if I have known her all my life. One of the truly great singer/songwriters.

  • "Hold On The Man's A Fraud" I love that part.

  • loving this one since 1990.

  • nolan strong wrote "the wind" he rcorded it in 1954

  • the jesters, a group from the early do-wop days did the original version of "the wind" laura's version is gr8 she should have had her own tv show i have everything she ever did i love her music

  • Laura was probably one of the most under-rated singer/songwriters. Her talents were incredible, and that doesn't even begin to describe her voice.

    Absolutely beautiful!

  • We've got to stop meeting like this! I ran into you re: Canaan - Carole King video. Obviously we have similar musical taste ... very good taste :)

I love her version of Up On The Roof.

  • AJMusicgirl--you were born in the wrong generation! Thank you for adding this...how about "The Wind", "Emmie", and "Desiree"? :)

  • I love "The Wind!" Did Laura write that song or did someone else?

  • Laura didn't write it. It's on "Laura Nyro and Labelle "Gonna Take a Miracle".....it sends chills down your spine...she sings it beautifully.

  • Yeah, I know.....I own the album. I always wondered who wrote "the wind."

  • Thanks for this! One of my favourite

Laura Nyro songs - her voice is so good

    on this. Good sound.
