There is no such "Short Barrel Rifle law" no ATF none of that crap in Canada.However this firearm is "Restricted" Which means you have to have a ATT(Authority to transport permit)for it to leave the house to a gun club/range/gun show/Repairs or service shop.Cannot just take it anywhere to shoot.Alot of HK's were imported here in Canada but are VERY expensive to own.

Gun ownership in Canada falls under three classifications: unrestricted, restricted, and prohibited. I was under the impression that this weapon was prohibited in Canada due the fact that it is fully automatic.

@clutchcrazy888 most gun manufacturers make semi-auto only versions of their popular models for sale in many parts of the USA and Canada. so its no surprise that there are semi-auto MP7s, since the MP7 is a pretty popular model for H&K.

@Elc22 There still seems to be some inconsistancy in Canada as to what is prohibited and what is merely restricted. My father is a recently retired RCMP member and shooting enthusiast, and the way he put it is, to quote, "The registry in Canada makes absolutely no sense. Why can I own a Mossberg 930 SPX autoloader but not a Benelli M1 S90? Oh right, some liberal b*tch in Ottawa thinks one looks scary/military and one doesn't." So even some semi-auto versions of guns are prohibited :(

@vash241987 The dude shooting in the video is in Canada. I think the MP7 is classified as restricted there, so you can get it but there's a lot of restrictions.
