@lerngthngs You multiply it by 4 because you have 4 MGD (Million Gallons per Day). The formula for this problem calls for the flow to be in GPD (Gallons Per Day) not MGD which is the way it is now. So to convert MGD to GPD all you have to do is multiply it by one million (1,000,000). So 4 MGD x 1,000,000 = 4,000,000 GPD. Does this make sense? I can't thank you enough for your Grade 1 Math tutorial. It's so good of you to take time out of your day to put together such a nicely done video. Very helpfull. Good luck on your 3 and 4.
I work at a plant in New Mexico......they put everyone's score in a computer base and you are able to access it with your State ID number. They will also let you review your exam at their office (can't take it with you), but you have to wait 60 days after that in order to take it again (if necessary).
@shaneshenya New Mexico does there testing way better than us. We only get to take the exam twice per year. We dont get to see our score unless we fail. And we dont get to review our test unless we fail. I'm pretty sure our tests are harder too (which is no fun)
Just passed my level 3 last week......whew! Now I have to wait for a year to take the level 4 (this is our final level). The math wasn't too bad on the 3, I don't even remember any MCRTs.....maybe on the level 4 ?
Why multiply 4 by 1,000,000 gallons per day? How do you determine how many gallons and by how many? I'm not even sure if I asked the right questions?

Where does that .785 number come from? Thanks.
shaneshenya 2 years ago
pie divided by 4 = .785
there are 3 ways to find the area of a circle:
pie x the radius squared
.785 x the diameter squared
pie divided by 4 x the diameter squared
remember, pie = 3.14

@shaneshenya good for you! What state are you from? CA doesnt tell you your score unless you fail. Its kinda lame...
