I prefer using the Cam Caddie SCorpion over the GlideCam. $38 was well worth it for a sturdy and effective stabilizer. All my video are very smooth and it's easy to master the Cam Caddie.
@Silverhorse32 i have that body harness also...great idea as i simply had it in a crate since i use the varizoom dv sportster...definitely like this idea...beats my dangerously angled lightstand!! HAHAHA!
i must say... this really helps out a lot. now i need to go get a tube and my old tripod! i have almost mastered balancing it by just eying and lifting it off a flat surface but this makes it a whole lot easier and faster
It was alright, but did not show how you balanced it, just show it already balanced. I have the same one, but do not use it because it is too dificult to balance quickly for an event like wedding or reception.
Thanks for wasting your time watching my video, what else would you have done? Call an electrician see if he can bend some tubing for you or go to Home Depot or Lowes. I just wasted my time emailing you back lol. Sorry if you think I wasted your time, but, it works for me all the time everytime, I can balance the glidecam in about 1 munite this way, never have a problem.
This was painful.

This video is pretty useless and the shots are wayyyy tooo long. Ever heard of "voice over"?

It came with the waist belt to hold the cam as you walk. I bought it through B&H Video

Nice video, just picked up a flycam 5000 with body-pod for my DVX100A, gives me an idea how to use one of my old tripods laying around as a stand.
