Soundwaves travelled through the moon and were registered by the instruments that were placed on the surface. You are wrong about the sound. Check it! The denser the matter, the faster the sound. Also: Big whales can be heard MANY miles under water. And, aircraft can fly slower at high altitude than at low and still go faster than sound. Check it!
Also we have to consider the factors involved. The impact and small amount of kinetic energy transferred as compared to the proportionate sizes of the objects involved.

@estoboy29 The sun is a "fusion reactor" where hydrogen atoms are fusioned into helium atoms. Just like in a hydrogen bomb. It's easy to see by checking the radiation from the sun. No one has to go there to check that out.

You are wrong about the sound. Check it! The denser the matter, the faster the sound. Also: Big whales can be heard MANY miles under water. And, aircraft can fly slower at high altitude than at low and still go faster than sound. Check it!

Turned out they hadn't accounted for relativity with the GPS satellites travelling faster then the earths surface and the speed measurement was wrong. Once the basic mistake was corrected the measurement was exactly as to be expected.

BTW guys, everyone who is asking @nothingspringstomind if he has been there, open a book for once. Do a science experiment. We can all agree there is no air in space (look at the shape of the satellites, not really aerodynamic but still circle the earth at high speeds without much propulsion), so take anything that makes noise, put it in an artificial vacuum and see if you can hear it.

When did NASA say that the moon was hollow? If that is true I would very much like a link to verify it as NASA just suggested the other day that there was originally a second smaller moon that crashed into our current moon 4.4 billion years ago.

@primusofone No, the moon did not ring because it was hollow, NASA did not say the moon was hollow, the ringing was the same as the earth ringing during earth quakes, the moons mass is well known, nothing of the size and mass of the moon could be hollow, detectors on the moon have mapped the inside of the moon, it is not hollow could not possibly be hollow. The moon is no more hollow than the Earth is hollow. Do the research don't listen to this bullshit.

@estoboy29 The sun is a "fusion reactor" where hydrogen atoms are fusioned into helium atoms. Just like in a hydrogen bomb. It's easy to see by checking the radiation from the sun. No one has to go there to check that out.

@estoboy29 Well, a very plausible theory is that a hydrogen cloud, which the Universe is full of, contracted by gravity, and when the pressure and temperature got intense enough, the fusion started. That's basicly how a hydrogen bomb functions. Pressure and heat created by a fission charge to "light" the hydrogen, wih the difference that in cosmic scale no fission charge is needed. Gravity is enough.

@estoboy29 You can figure out the exact composition of the sun by look at the light spectrum it emits. Very basic physics. As we know from studying the universe it is NOT self sustaining as eventually it will collapse in on itself.
