man your so fucking lucky bro i have to play drums in a shed and theres no florring out there except concreat and i dont have a rug so my drumset moves so much when i do double bass its not even funny
Well, nowadays all these relentless multiple bass kicks can be simulated quite nicely using EZ Drum Pro, it seems... Lar's drumming is not something that software can just imitate, I suppose?
i don't know why people come here and insult lars... i'ts true he can't play like 15 o 20 years ago... maybe he has other priorities in his life, he has a family and maybe don't practice too much... what i know is that he is and will be an inspiration for many drummers... he's one of the first thrash metal drumers, he formed one the first thrash bands and maybe the best of heavy metal history, all i know this isn't an easy song... y want to see this guy play it at 50 years...
hey hey hey, watch his legs at 1:10 looks like they aren't moving but the bass is still making sound as if he is still double bassing it, maybe it's just me, but that's what it looks like.
@BOpsMaster Because when you hit the 170-180bpm mark, you really dont use your legs a whole lot and mostly switch to your ankles. He's playing it legit.
you can't say that Lars sucks against other people today cause Lars is a old drummer and all those new have new talents and he haz the old talents and he's much older then this people...
@xXMetalforever1994Xx Lars is not a good drummer period. He wasn't in his golden days and he isn't today. The one thing that made (makes) him stand out is his brute creativity and the ability to create drum lines which suit songs like a glove. Lars is an average drummer in the matter of skills
@xXMetalforever1994Xx I agree with you on the fact that Lars is old, but so is Dave Lambardo, and a lot of old school thrash metal drummers and they can still play their absolute best after all these years.
@xXMetalforever1994Xx don't mean to throw salt but dave lombardo is around the same age as lars, has been going for about the same time as lars, and yet his drumming is more powerful than a tablespoon of salt and tighter than a young nun's pretty pink pussy. and let's be fair, generally speaking, dave's drumming requires more speed, technical ability and stamina than lars' drumming, both in the studio and live. also i've never seen lars host a drum clinic...i wonder why :P
@hyghiaumtym yeah and who pioneered the worst type of metal (death metal) slayer did, does dave play 2 hour shows nearly 365, no, and dave only hosts drum clinics to show off, yes he is a good drummer, but too over rated, and not every song need 1000+ kicks. it gets monotonus after a while
Hey man, your playing is nice, by the way im not a drumer and i was wondering whats the name of that cymbal over your hi hat ,that actually looks like a hi hat?
@mikkozq and he was also (i think) the guy who actually started playing double-bass drums am i right? - People are nowdays judging out from the technique instead of the musiciality.... LARS IS GR8 IMO
@HartmannCss nope, their were double bass drummers before lars such as niel peart of rush & rob reiner of anvil.but lars was a damn good drummer,he wasn't even taught a single formal lesson just earned his chops by playing.
Hey could you tell me how you mic you're bass drum? I have been recording and it mine sounds real muddy, Where you;res has more of a click, HOW DO I GET THAT SOUND? Also I have a muffle ring inside of it against the batter head.
@pkha75 I'm not spamming. Its the first time I ever commented on youtube about Lars. Accept the harsh reality. Lars was average in the 80's, since then he deteriorated to the point he'd have hard time trying to beat first year drumming students. The fact Lars had to use a drum machine for the double kicks in this song proves it.
@mrpink9876xxxx he doesnt use drum machine for the double bass, yes he has gone down but he is still good i saw him during the first big four concert i also got the dvd. i listened closely to their song called one and if you listen you can hear him nailing the double bass pretty damn good.
Great job on this cover. It sounds right on the money. One of the toughest things I"ve noticed about this song is the quick transitions to different tempos. Great job on one of the toughest drum songs out there!
