  • i love this song :)

  • theres is a dutch version of this song :) i love the irish songs!

  • NOOOO NEEEY NEVEEEEER, NO NEEY NEVER NO MOOOOOORREE

  • Ahh, surely these comments reflect wonderfully on the Irish-English relationships! I'm pleased to say that I, unlike a lot of people here from what I see, have high opinions of both England and Ireland. So, good song, no? Everyone should settle their tits down, stop hating England/Ireland/both and just listen to a good song without acting like a petulant child.

  • I am fully Irish but born in England and i actually pledge allegiance to Ireland, all these brits giving it the biggun are idiots,IRELAND is the best so go suck a horse! The only thing wrong with me is my British accent end of!

  • You sit there and argue with your small minded opinions about shit like the IRA, the troubles and the problems that English people bring. It seems to me that its only the younger Irish of today that have all this hatred boiled up about sometime they were never even born in! Maybe people should get out more and stop spending hours a day on YouTube looking up pro IRA and Ulster videos and buying into that shit so easily!

  • one last thing to say. what language do you speak.......is that english. yeah thought so

  • @mikeff22 yeah. I speak 3 languages you ignorant cunt english, as gaeilge and espanol. How many do you speak dumbass

  • @jonyeire yeah first language is always dominant...thanks

  • @mikeff22 thanks for what you dumb fuck the only piece of english culture left has been robbed by the rest of the bahahaha

  • @mikeff22 You are an english scumbag your the one whos scum and irish blacks and middle easterns own your country. The decent ones take your jobs and the scummy ones rob you in the street so who ownes who bahaha

  • @mikeff22 Why are you such a cunt? Like seriously, the potato famine was over a hundred years ago, what has that got to do with anything? That's like saying that England got owned by a bunch of rats (Black Death). Besides, Irish men fought and died along side the English in both World Wars. England is a joke, the politicians are fucking idiots and the "culture" is fucked. I'm proud to say that my blood is Irish, and scum like you enforce that pride.

    Ireland forever <3

  • @UltimateRpGx to be completleyhonest i agree with you ultimaterpg. Even though i myself am english and yes our politicians are fucking idiots and most of our culture is a complete joke but even though that is said most english people love and respect our irish cousins and i respect that so as said before @mikeff22 you can fuck the hell off

  • @topladtootill I am "English" also, but my heart lies with the Irish. It was harsh to call the English culture a joke, as true English people are some of the best in the world. Both my grandparents are Irish and migrated from Ireland after the war, both of them becoming nurses when they arrived, both of them caring for English people for practically all their lives. There are few differences between the two cultures, and we are very alike, apart from Irish people caring more about their culture.

  • Love this song . played this song at my dads funeral as it described him to a tee. he loved the dubliners x

  • the wild rover is originally a traditional ENGLISH song. Its on the Dubliners album notes on the original LP. Its ironic that There are these racist Irish Americans singing an English song without realising it!!

  • @neamman1 no actualy their are two theories on the origin of this song one says scotland one says ireland neither of which is england. I think the correct one is scotland either way I dont see irony but i smell bullshit. btw my dad has every dubliner album ever made and they never said that.

  • 11 couldn´t take the wild rover

  • My grandmother was Irish, they have the best drinking songs. I am the Wild Rover in my family.

  • @soxfan801 thumbs up dude i think you would be the man to share a beer with

  • Why so many angry people here? Just listen to this great version of a great song and enjoy!

Oh and to the 11 'dislikers', I have a sneaky feeling that some, if not all of you are rangers fans who think this song is Irish!

Historians will tell you, at it's roots, The Wild Rover was an old Scottish song that believe-it-or-not preached temperance!

Over the decades the lyrics got tweaked and it is now a cracking drinking song sung by many Irish and Scottish folk singers all over the world!

  • @iCregannnn prozzy scum fuck off back to england hopefully 100s more of em scumbags will get done in

  • @jonyeire What's wrong with England?

  • @Chocoholic281 what isn't wrong with england occupying other peoples country's murdering and raping natives throughout history and have the nerve to call people who stand up to them terrorists thats whats wrong with england

  • @jonyeire But that's no real reason to apply it to a whole country. It's actually kind of racist to do so, I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate people applying all the bad history of Irish individuals in power to every single person 'in' Ireland, now would you?

  • @jonyeire what a wanker (sheep shagger)

  • Comment removed

  • @mikeff22 what? You wank over your mom and fuck sheep well you don't have to tell me we all know their the main british passtimes and btw some pussy brit cant say fuck all as England is actually notorious for sheep shagging you dumb brittish fuck

  • @weeboiandy awww <3

  • @sheilasutherland69 dont put this shit on here dumbass

  • @sheilasutherland69 now thats not the loving god i was taught. you must be a Calvinist! i dont care personally but if you wanna cross books let me tell something to you little miss dipshit, ive read not only the entire bible, but the quaran the bhagavad gita, book of Mormon(least favorite) gospel of Judas, book of Enoch, the sepher yetziriah and various apocryphal books. and i can assure you of 2 things. 1 there is a god. and 2. you are not him. and you havent met him so shut the fuck up

  • @sheilasutherland69 u really did have to much whiskey n beer,ya weirdo

  • I love this song, haha.

  • they play this song very rarely in irish pubs in germany :(

  • @loxnnn

depends in wich pub your going

in Freiburg they play a lot of irish music

  • Would the Americans pretending to be Irish please leave.

  • @Shaunagh1011 Most of them have parents or grand parents who are irish, so they are of irish heritage. Moron.

  • @alwayswinit4real Irish heritage. I've met lots of Americans who genuinely think they're Irish. You're not unless your parents or you were born/brought up there. Otherwise you are of Irish DESCENT like millions of others in the world. The're everywhere, you can't draw a leg without stepping on one so it's not a big thing as people think.

  • @EdnaSheKnows especially in Ireland I suppose.

  • @Shaunagh1011

why? are we not good enough for you? just because are ancestors decided to move here doesn't make us less Irish so long as we keep to traditions and i do see where your coming from. but just next time think of those who don't actually act like asses and claim they are irish

  • @SuperMcmonster

keep listening to your dropkick murphys bullshit. talking about drinking and fighting while your perpetrate stereotypes.

  • @Rao665 ya know that's funny cause i don't listen to dropkick murpheys or drink like an ass....so go fuck yourself you assuming fuck

  • @SuperMcmonster

Great answer!! Irish immigrants and descendants in the US are very much like the Portuguese ones in Brazil or Italians in Argentina in this point. We conserve our ancestral traditions in the Americas much better than those hippies do in old Europe! I'd say we're more Irish/Portuguese/etc than they are!

Those hypocrites complain that we "perpetuate stereotypes" while they drink Coca-Cola and listen to techno. Modern Europe is fucked up!

  • @Shaunagh1011 Would the Irish please take a happy pill? Never seen such a pissed off culture. Beautiful land; ugly attitudes. No wonder their economy is in the crapper.

  • @mnparrothead Wow, that's lovely. How kind of you to assume every Irish person has a bad attitude after reading one comment. You're also not one to speak, insulting a whole nation like that.

  • @Shaunagh1011 i luv u paddys when im in america my dad who is from ireland and all my aunts and uncles tell me im irish and america is a evil counrty and my homeland is Ireland, when im in Ireland im an america and i should go back to America. Typical Irish always oppisite, u people can't even agree with each other how to treat america

  • @TheShanepmc "Typical Irish". Would an Irish person generalise their country like that?

  • @TheShanepmc Iosa Críost! Níl sé sin cardiúil!

USA is by the way a colonny, if I'm right, accoding to the native Americans

  • God****

And those are words of a true Catholic.

    :D

  • The pope may rot in hell..

  • (h5)(:

  • You didn't capitalize correctly, but I still share your sentiment.

God save the Pope! God save us all!

  • funny thing is there is no god and the pope does absolutely nothing about priests that molest small boys and deserves everything that he has coming to him.

  • @shreadhead667, what does that have to do with the song?

  • Nothing I was responding to some Catholics who's preaching was ruining the music for me.

  • Oi shredhead, i can understand why you're upset. There's you with your boyish charms, in your tightest shorts, fresh haircut and a bit of rouge to colour your cheeks, yet the priest still decided to ignore you and tamper with another kid. Nevermind son

  • Playing along.. my first tune, on my first tin whistle, having had my -lost count- whisky....

Now wouldn't you love to hear? XD
