@u9p87 I think you need to brush up on your volcanology terminology a bit there, mate. That was a very benign A'a flow. A pyroclastic is a heavily gas-charged flow of pulverised magma that travels virtually friction-free downslope. They are usually brought about through gravitational collapse of an eruption cloud or a collapse of a volcanic dome/plug. Do a youtube search on the pyroclastic flow associated with Mt Unzen in 1991. Now THAT, was a pyroclastic flow!
