  • sounds to me like the camera man is ripping the other guy about what good coffee is.

  • awesome info..thank u..

  • A pod?

  • Acid in Coffee? No wonder why I am losing my hair. I want Espresso now. I want my Cappucino and Cafe au lait.

  • I hate it when anyone says "I make the best this or that" ... so pretentious. Let others be the the judges. The worst part is that this espresso looks horrible.

  • He's using coffee pods, this is garbage!

  • This is retarded. "get lost" basically you said Italians could not handle the Turkish coffee so they had to make it weaker. Everyone likes their coffee/espresso different. I love the caffeine aspect of coffee and think that it taste like crap, but I know it has good qualities that have been known to improve health, so I drink it. Everyone is different. Coffee snobs! what a bunch of losers.

Its O.K. to be a coffee aficionado, but a snob... get a life.

  • you didn't show anything here idiot

  • this is most sertainly a joke!! hes using a pod. those poduce nothing worth putting in thy mouth. every good barista knows that freshness comes before all other rules. the size of the shot is only a finish touch kind of rule. not to say its not very important but if you dont have fresh, it wont matter what else you do your espresso will always suck! (but his points are valid its rare to find those supper consentrated thick creme shots these days)

  • solo grosmi e manuel good in italy

if you use pods to make coffee it is recommended that you run into a wall at full speed, also you might be an american that has never experienced a real italian espresso, which is something you need to do before you die

  • il vero caffè.. non è proprio così..

  • A lot of talk here ...let your cup do the talking, but I don't feel an espresso from a pod will say much to anyone. It's not about "gulps" because these change person to person, I would just aim for the 1oz mark or when the espresso is about to blonde. (you will understand this more when you ditch the pods for fresh coffee)

  • very true what he says, weather or not his result on tape was good

  • Ridiculous, espresso from a pod, short extraction, no crema. Espresso fit for the garbage can only.

  • i'm a little confused. Does the two gulp thing mean that you can only drink it in two gulps, or it should only be two gulps big? please help!

  • Why are you using pods If that is the best espresso?

  • cool, didnt know that..

  • that espresso looks BAD!!! zero crema

  • if thats the best espresso west of naples i'm a monkeys uncle.

  • Hahaha. I think he's taking the piss. What he says is accurate and correct. But what he's doing looks distinctly odd.

Anyway, Americans, get real. It can take you a week in New York to find an espresso as good as what you get out of the €0.80 coffee machine in the doorway of truckstops on the autostradi.

    Two mouthfuls. That's it.

  • Two mouth fulls is a good point our baristas must learn! And $3.00+ espressos are an insult!

  • @WebVisionItaly

Agreed completely. I work at a coffee shop in the US and I often give stuff away because I don't have it in me to charge people the ridiculous fees we have. I want to one day open and very luxurious coffee shop, but have everything dirt cheap. Just enough to stay in business. Have a nice shop for people to go to and hang out where people can be viewed as friends and customers and not profit. Everyone just wants to get rich in the US, I just want to get by.

  • I produce two mouthfuls of cum.

  • Did I see a pod? Please tell me it's a pod! (Otherwise the dude did know quite a lot about espresso, sadly that tripple-double BS wasn't true. But if you would try to brew 2oz out of a single basket of coffee, you would get what this dude is talking about...)

  • a great espresso in Zurich?? Trust me..I do not know where you've been in Italy but, there are tons of places in Italy where you can have a perfect espresso. Please do not make me laugh... a reasonable espresso in Italy...is better than anything else you get around the world.

  • right on.. dont forget cold cup not hot. Hot cup retards the flavor of the coffee.

Burr grinder only, so beans do not get burned which makes for additional acid. Your video is best advice I have seen yet. Buon Jiorno

  • I spent several weeks in Europe last year, including two in Italy. The only place I found an exemplary espresso was a shop in Zurich (the only place, thus far, I've found espresso better than my own). I suspect all of the other places used pods, perhaps very old pods--at least the ones I could watch, did. This was rather disappointing given all the rave I've heard about "authentic" Italian espresso. Maybe they only do it right in Naples, which I did not visit.

  • Yeah, it's got to be a joke. It's hard to keep track of all the errors here, but good comedy nevertheless...

  • Oh man. A sub-20 second shot with no crema. Undrinkable. I've been reading up about preparing good espresso and I think I've learned more in three hours than this bozo has learned in a lifetime.

  • Prego!

  • GET LOST! haha

  • There's nothing more obnoxious than an arrogant barista. Best espresso west of Naples? Please.

  • You simply misheard him, he said "the best espresso west of 'Nipples' (it's a topless bar halfway down the block from his joint)." They serve instant at Nipples.

  • PODS LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL I think not

THIS HAS TO BE A JOKE VIDEO...

  • I was in Rome for only a week, yet I tasted the true drink it was hm..speechless.

  • that espresso looks BAD!!! zero crema

  • Not sure if that audio was meant to go with that clip. Hope not, the coffee on film looked piss poor to me.

  • I have to say... espresso from a pod with no crema is hardly what I'd call "the best espresso west of Naples".

I also don't understand the significance of mentioning Naples.

  • Re: "I also don't understand the significance of mentioning Naples."

A lot of Italians feel that the best Italian espresso is made in Naples.

  • Yeah... I guess the dopio is pure BS, then.

  • So, the best espresso west of naples has no crema...and is produced with a pod.

    Jog on m8

  • A coffee pad. This certainly enhances the credibility of the Espresso instructor. All irony aside, I think the word "astringent" is a better word for "acidic" when talking about tasting Espresso. Plus, the corelation between extration time and astringency is highly questionable. Sorry.

  • if the espresso is underextracted it will have a sour off-taste which a lot of people mistake for acidity (or as you say). I'm going to assume that this clown's three second shot is pretty astringent :P

this vid has GOT to be a joke, and LOL to the comment under mine
