i live in myrtle beach and live right next to the beach, myrtle beach sucks. i lived at the same place for all of my 16 years and myrtle beach is boring.
@born2huntforever I liked it the first two times I visited and the third time this year was ehhhhhhhhh, got old quickly so I can't imagine living there. It is a nice beach to visit from time to time I guess, but I will go elsewhere next year.
@caramelhiggens Well you're just a hateful person. So from a "yankee" God Bless and I'll be down there in about a week to enjoy your beautiful beaches.
@caramelhiggens I can understand that. I live in a small town and don't really want it to grow too big either. However, my point is that your state wouldn't be able to enjoy the things it does without the tourism industry. Of course I don't know the figure, but I'm sure the tax revenue brought in by tourists is pretty big. You are blessed with a beautiful piece of the country that has been made great by people like you. You should want to share that with your fellow Americans.
I went on the boardwalk at Myrtle beach and fed a few of these and plus a hammerhead my mom is good friends with the state park ranger i'm so lucky and actually the sharks are pretty nice like if your swimming there not gonna go up and bite you
come on I mistakenly saw this video besides I don't need to worry about sharks like ya? uhhh I'm getting nervous I'll just be careful when I get into the ocean
Every year at Mem. Day, my son and me go fishing off Cherry Grove Pier. We always catch a lot of small sharks, about a foot or so. They are normally caught late evening near dark, and usually take cut squid. We catch sometimes 20 or more in one evening. Does anyone know what kind of sharks these are?
@DerrickH1969 you are catching atlantic blue sharks. They love to hang out around the piers.Everyone loves to see them when you reel one up....REMEMBER ALWAYS THROW THEM BACK...Have fun..And don't swim next to the pier...
you might not have been there yet but people check the waters and the life guards would not let you in the water either and they use flags that say specific thing and all i say there was a dead ray that was the size of your hand way up on the beach on a rock and a dead jelly fish washed up on shore and a fish smaller then your hand the jumped out of the water just be careful during the evening for jelly fish don't go way too far out then then i'd just let waves be the entertainment
omg thank you i just left i was in south carolina it was fun but i didnt get in the water that much cause my mom didnt want me to mess up my hair ugh but i like it and i think im going back on spring break
your welcome and you can pony tail your hair before getting in the water it might help i remember last year i was too worried that i would find a fish or something all i did was play around the waves but my siblings went out freakin far and i figured it should be safe although the fish that was 3 or 4 inches that jumped out the water made me and my siblings stop playing the fish was cute it just hopped out the water it was cute and a wave when it was night time decided to jump on my bottom
You only have to worry about jelly fish in the spring. There are sharks, but most of them are small. With the life guards, you have nothing to worry about. MB is 1 of my fav vacation spots.
wow. i went to myrtle beach spring of '07 and '08. now i'm afraid to go back! we saw TONS of jellyfish while we were there though, and there was a huge group of stingrays about 30 feet out into the water. it was really cool.
was that in '06? in october '06 in north myrtle a shark came up on the beach like that - it was amazing. the police said there was a large school of dozens off shore that year, in october, because the fish were there - one of those things i guess ..
@samster145 animal control took it away? Really? DNR wasn't there? oh my....a thresher doesn't normally create a danger in the way a tiger, bullie, spinner, or mako would this close in shore. A thresher coming in this close is very unusual, however, evidently it DOES HAPPEN! I wonder if animal control took it out alive and kept it alive for an aquarium? hmm, that is really interesting. Thanks for posting this video, it's very interesting. You were in the right place at the right time!
@mamasboy815 there are a few threshers in the national aquarium in Baltimore, Md. but I'm not sure if they were born in captivation or caught, treated and transferred there. The aquariums do not have to mimic the currents, they have to provide a chemically equivalent water enviornment, i.e. salt, etc. I totally agree with you about dying in vain. I hope not too. It seems there was no reason for so many organizations to get involved with this thresher. Should have let him go, he would have lived.
@fishin1111 I agree! Thanks for the info! I see the authority figures in Myrtle beach getting involved in things that dont involve them. To protect the shark from beach goers would be fine, but to interfere with the natural is not there job.

@MrHaz1993 shut up , you would have to be an idiot to go in there and try and push a shark that size into the water.
Veenstra14 6 months ago
@MrHaz1993 I would like to see you try and push a 300lb shark back into the ocean, mainly because you would never come back.

@fishin1111 I doubt a thresher could live in a aquarium enviroment? Gulf stream current is hard to mimic. I hope it didnt die in vane.
