Cookie Jar joined forces with BRB Productions and Miramax Films (before Lionsgate Entertainment acquired the Movie Studio from Disney) to work on David the Gnome.
I remember my fear of SFM starting the year Zobilee Zoo came on - DiC was bad enough, but the SFM logo terrified me.
And just when it had gone away...I bought Rowan and Martin's Laugh In on DVD...and there it was again, with this horrible sound of one person clapping - I nodded off during the DVD one night a few years back, and the damn Morse Code beeping woke me up and terrified me.
You too!?! LOL. Remember the SFM Movie Network? That logo with that rotating crystal doorknob with SFM logo inside of it and the "Heavy Action" theme music used to scare the bJesus out of me---I think it's cuz I had the TV up too loud. I need therapy. More like a Billy Graham crusade.
Yeah I remember it, but it was the SFM Holiday Network. The "Heavy Action" music always puzzled me. I wondered why they were using the Monday Night Football theme for this, when they're obviously not related. Luckily for you, it was only shown around holidays, not year round.
@chabba77 - I found a video of the SFM Holiday Network ident on YT, and I was very surprised by the Monday Night Football music...its from 1982, so I'm safe in saying that I am not old enough to know anything about it, having been born in 1982.
Oh, and this logo trifecta of fear used to air before a promotional spot for Hallmark to encourage people to buy their kid Zoobillee Zoo merchandise there. I used to fear that as well because the logos already had me terrified.
@gatewayeast1609 - Oh wasn't the old Unsolved Mysteries theme haunting?! I remember it really well. And the Rescue 911 theme used to give me the jeebies too.
@AllisonTheSNLGuru It sure was. I usually had to watch an episode of Night Court just so I could sleep after an episode of Unsolved Mysteries with the original theme.
I'm not saying that Unsolved Mysteries wasn't a good show; it rocked, just that the original theme had a high chill inducement factor.
@gatewayeast1609 - Yes it did, I remember it well. I was obsessed with watching Unsolved Mysteries during my late teens and early twenties, when they were being shown on Lifetime (by the time I had become interested, it was during its later years on NBC, so I do remember seeing it there too).
Ah, Be Right Back Productions. lol

I don't remember any network, but I would be in therapy now if I did! The logo with ONE PERSON CLAPPING was bad enough!

@AllisonTheSNLGuru I say there are some logos out there that make the SFM logo seem cheerful.

@gatewayeast1609 - For your consideration, perhaps the DiC Vortex of Fear, The Kid in Bed, and The Viacom V of Doom? :-)
AllisonTheSNLGuru 1 year ago
@AllisonTheSNLGuru The Viacom V of Doom is a close second on the chill inducing factor to the original Unsolved Mysteries opening theme.

The BRB Productions logo theme almost sounds like the 1985 Buena Vista Television logo theme.

Do you think you could upload the Hallmark underwriting credit from the show, too?
