Illegal gearbox with Beneton, illegal suspension with Beneton, illegal fuel rig with Beneton, intentionally crashed into Hill, intentionally crashed into Villeneuve, Parked his car on the apex at Monaco in qualifying, tried to put Barrichello in the wall at nearly 200 miles, forced Kubica and Massa onto the grass in Montreal last year. And most importantly the FIA have almost turned a blind eye to every single one of them. An average driver with with a great car and a 1 driver team backing him.
If Villeneuve and Frentzen weren't god awful drivers they would have dominanted 1997 from start to finish with the undeniable dominant car of the year (11 poles out of 16).
What's more is that Schumacher was dominating the british grand prix that year before a mechanical failure took him out which would have won him the championship. Schumi did something quite disgraceful at jerez, but let's be honest he was by far and away the best driver in 97.
Everyone who feels sorry for Schumacher and his failed comeback should watch this video to remember just what sort of man he really was. This was the second time he tried to win the WDC by ramming his competitor off the racetrack, and you can see him standing by the track surveying the damage and hoping it's worked again. He may have own the WDC 7 times on paper, but he'll never be one of the sport's greats.
@wimpiedimpie i'm a big damon fan, but unfortunately he wasn't really that good of a driver. Plus i think he went to arrows for the money, rumours were that Mclaren and Ferrari were interested... but Schumacher was already at Ferrari and McLaren didn't really offer enough money. Plus the main factor was his age, he was 36-37 in 1997... as much as i loved damon hill because i hated schumacher, he only won a championship because of the car, very much like Villenuve
@den525 Ah, okay, money, should have known, what a dumn question actually, thanx mate. (and I always liked Hill very much, despite of being a Schumi-fan, I loved the fantastic "story" they both made of F1).
@wimpiedimpie Hill was very likeable, son of a former world champion, inexperienced driver, somehow found his way to partner Prost, then Senna, mainly because Williams has always been tight with their budget, basically in my opinion Hill was in a way the people's driver, a bit like Mark Webber now... everyone liked him, and wanted the best for him sort of thing...
As for Schumi... In 94 when he ran in the Hill, i thought that was slightly dodgy, maybe "accidental" then came this moment.
I think it wasn't a try to take them both out of the race from Sschumacher. If you look good you see that villeneuve goes completely wide and barrely makes the corner himself because he blocked his tyres. If Schumacher would have followed him on the outside he would have got stuck too... Not really the way to overtake, so i don't think it's completely fair.
@F1Master007 If Schumi had braked at the normal place he'd have made it around the corner, regardless of what Villeneuve was doing. He'd have kept the lead, and Villeneuve may have got stuck in the gravel himself. But no, his first thought was to ram into him.
Webber tried to do a similar thing to either Alonso or Hamilton in Korea last year. Instead he took out Rosberg. Something Webber and Schumacher have in common: they both suck at cheating. Only difference being that Schumacher can actually win championships in a dominant car, Webber can't.
I dont like Schumacher but that wasn't his fault, it's obvious on the onboard cameras, you see that he gave him enough room, but Villeneuve locked his brakes, and took a straight line in the corner, had he taken a wider turn, schumi might have finished in the gravel already
@mouloudo if you look at the replay from schumacher's onboard camera, you can clearly see that he closes the door right in front of Jacques Villeneuve. Villeneuve had nowhere to go since Schumacher tried to just ram him.
@mouloudo lets be realistic frenchy... schumacher was disqualified from the championship because of this blatant move....if you choose not to see it you should go back to the tour de france!
@flipsidedogchop well if you think this was blatant you should go back to Cricket rosbeef :D if you want to play the racist thing we could go all night long
@flipsidedogchop no I hate schumacher, I just pointed out the fact that he had to turn the wheel at a moment or he would have gone straight in the gravel, at these speeds you cant miss the apex from 5 meters or you'll miss the turn and loose traction... and I pointed out the fact that on the onboard camera it's obvious that villeneuve is locking the wheels and going straight in the turn, even if schumacher hadn't turn into villeneuve, jacques would have go straight in schumacher's path
@flipsidedogchop that's not the first time the FIA made some harsh decisions or even mistakes... anyway that's my opinion, they were more sanctioning an attempt to do what he did to damon hill rather than really sanctionning him, I agree it wasn't fair from schumacher, but he couldn't really do it otherwise, or he would have given up the position basicly by braking hard to let him go... when Senna does it twice to prost he's a genious, when schumacher does it to Hill or villeneuve his an asshole
It's hard to argue against schumacher being the best driver in history given his track record, but the truth is, during most of his ferrari years, ferrari was so far ahead of the pack that it didn't take a genius to be world champ driving a ferrari. You can say without hesitation that schumi is better than barrichello, but saying he was better than all, is like saying that mark webber is better than fernando alonso these days.
Don`t get me wrong. I truly believe that Schumacher`s been one of the best drivers ever. But this time he just went too far. He showed an huge lack of fairness. And now that he`s back look at what he did to Barrichello in 2010....
Schumacher: you`re still in time to learn what the word Fairness stands for.
Looking back this move is not nearly as bad as I remember it. The only reason Villeneuve got his position was from braking late which meant he was going to overshoot the turn. Ideally you want to be side by side in the braking zone, not the turning point. That said, Shumi did turn into him and Villeneuve wasn't all that late. It was a brave move and ideally you'ld like to see those moves protected even if they are such high risk. Shumi after all could try the same thing back if he could keep up.
what Senna did to Prost at Suzuka 1990 was far, far worse than that. MS may have been surprised that JV took such a lunge from so far back and turned in on him unexpectantly.
Senna's was totally deliberate and could have killed someone yet because its Senna its fine.
no, i don't think he meant to knock villeneuve, he's still entitled to take the corner. Villeneuve in fact veered slightly outward, this should be a normal racing incident. But of course the stewards are taking into account that this is the final race, and it sort of bear resemblance to montreal94 incident with damon hill, there is that tendency of "confirmation bias" to regard this as cheating. But In today's context, this will surely be dealt with as a pure racing incident.
People wonder what Senna vs Schumacher would have been like. They'd probably have killed each other. Obvously great drivers, but pretty stupid and reckless at times.
i hate scumi im from friggin quebec but he was by far the best.Rain is the greatest equalizer and who was the best in the rain shumi and when he won for benneton he was 150hp underpowered compaired to hill and mansel
look at villeneuve's onboard starting at 3:00 - by the time he hit the inside curb he'd barely turned into the corner. I'm Canadian and it's obvious even to me that Villeneuve screwed up and got lucky. Schumacher being disqualified from the '97 season because of this is a complete joke.
Fuck yeah, Schumacher. 1994 REVENGE. Ironically, in 1994, Damon Hill was the victim of Schumacher in a Williams. Three years later, Schumacher would be a victim of a Williams and Damon Hill leave exactly in the same time as Schumacher. hahaha
That is life. hahahaha
Delay, but always you pay for your mistakes. Sooner or Later. However.
THIS ITS ALL FIA FAULT.i mean they allow this hazzard to keep happening.i mean they should have banned shummaker from racing a long time ago.what are they waiting for?for him to kill someone!?!

@gonira, you simply didn't understand me (thanks to my English)) I mean that JACQUES HAD TO GO OUT OF THE TRACK if Michael didn't push him to the corner. Vileeneuve's move was very stupid. It was just a lottery and luckily he won that time. Look carefully on a Jacques' trajectory before and after the collision.
Schumacher hitting Villeneuve did not help Villeneuve make the corner. Getting a big whack on your sidepod from another car would destabilise your car, which is exactly what you don't want when braking for a corner.
Just look on a Villeneuve's trajectory. If Michael didn't hit him he will go out of the track. Stupid move, crazy decision. Lucky Jacques. Michael should have been the 1997 world champion.
@pleshrd you're kidding, right? michael had PLENTY of room at the outside. stop the video at 3:25 if you're still in doubt. even a blind man can see what happened. dirty deliberate wrecking, that's what it was, unexcusable.
@SaintBEEP True man...But thrs a reason for that.Schumi is the greatest. No one else comes close. There are bound to be rabid dogs trying to bite his aura.I love Schumi for being the arrogant SOB that he is.Hail Schumi
@sexygirl1678 he's not the only repeat offender though. There are tons. I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong, I'm just questioning the judgement of certain people.
@SaintBEEP Other drivers have done it once or twice, Schumacher has a reputation for it. Adelaide 1994, European 1997, Monaco 2006 and only last season he tried to put Barrichello into the wall in Hungary at 170 mph
@ShaneClarkSAFC At the time this happened he was still given the crap when this first happened. yes i think this was definitely the last straw but the first time he really did anything controversial at Adelaide in 1994 he was always held "dirty" Whereas you think of altercations between other drivers like Senna & Prost, it is basically forgotten because everyone feels they shouldn't critisize Senna because he was killed, and they feel that he is the perfect driver.
@SaintBEEP The Prost and Senna altercations you could argue both were to blame, the 1st incident in Japan 1989, Senna basically tried to get through a gap which he physically couldn't, at the same time Prost gave him no room to make a move, in 1990, Senna took Prost out for revenge after being disqualfied in 1989. Senna nor Prost were nowhere near perfect drivers behavioral wise, but as I say for Schumacher to do it on at least 4 occasions is very unsportsman-like.
@ShaneClarkSAFC errr he didnt tried to put barrichello anywhere, barrichello did it to himself. It's funny how when it's schumacher, he is the bad wolf and gets 10 positions penalty and when barrichello rammed rosberg this season in the beginning, he didnt got any penalty at all. Double standard anyone? ^_^
@metal502 Of course its a penalty, Barrichello just made a mistake and outbraked himself and was penalised as he should be. A drive through for Schumacher wouldn't have been a penalty in Hungary as it was at the end of the race and he was outside the points, it would've cost him nothing, even Schumi admitted he deserved the penalty for that and that it was dangerous.
@TheNation6, it's impossible to beat fastest cars w/o so-called "cheating", isn't it? I think it's normal because all teams wanna win.
And, btw, IN JEREZ 1997 WILLIAMS HAD MAKE A DEAL WITH MCLAREN TO REDUCE SCHUMACHER'S PACE AND TO DECREASE THE GAP BETWEEN SCHUMACHER AND VILLENEUVE. It was a horrific cheating, wasn't it?
so I just watched Adelaide '94 with Damon Hill, while that looked worse I find that incident acceptable because I think Hill could and should have waited. This was clearly a dirty and failed attempt to repeat his fortune in '94. while I can understand people calling Schuey a cheat, legends Prost and Senna did the same thing to eachother in consecutive years.
@marcfam, and also, I hate Schumacher's haters. He's a genious, unquestionable genious, much higher than hill, vileeneuve & other rivals-crybabies. Only Senna, Hakkinen and Alonso were worthy rivals for Michael. All others were pitiful crybabies: "ooh, he's a cheater, he's a cheater, bla-bla-bla-bla-bla...". They just didn't know how to drive fast in each particular race and that's all. Hill and Villeneuve were mediocre drivers. And some controversial incidents mean absolutely NOTHING for me.
@pleshrd i think you're not willing to think about this matter ,you just thinking Shumacher is a god ,any blame for any sin.I suggest you to keep more open your mind and not stop to early to search the true.I think you simply not interested to see the true if it's not where you want it is.
@marcfam, he's not a God, but he's absolutely great. Unfortunately, best Michael's years in career occured in the era of "good guys" in F1. For example, Senna could simply throw his rival out and win the championship without silly excuses and sorries. Unfortunately, Michael couldn't because that's the another era.
@marcfam, don't forget that F1 is a cruel men sport, it's not a ballet or bellydancing and if you wanna win you MUST do completely, ABSOLUTELY everything for it. If a driver doesn't think so ("oh, I'm a gentleman, I can't do such an inhuman things, I hate cheating, etc") - he isn't a racing driver, he's a crybaby. And I hate modern F1 with its gestapo-like penalisation system. That's why Michael is forced to constantly make excuses
@pleshrd it's only a "cruel men sport [sic]" because particular drivers and teams make it so, at the expense of other drivers with silly notions like "morality" and "fairness". the unfortunate truth is that drivers like schumacher and teams like ferrari are fast enough that the only way to beat them is to stoop to their level. take this season: everyone knows alonso doesn't deserve those 7 points from hockenheim, but the only way for red bull to win the championship now is to cheat the same way.
This is Schumacher style..if he can't win by regular way,he find a "solution".( see recently to avoid Barrichello passing him)...Very fast driver but i think overrated !!!Do not forget ,he lost 3 times championship at last race (also stop engine during starting at once )The only he won was the shamed which he crashed out Damon Hill .Psychological fragility ,Jaques Villeneuve was a giant compared to him ,too strong personality to be beaten on same conditions.
@marcfam, Hill lose in 94 by his own fault. Schumacher's car was broken and he couldn't continue the race. All that Damon should do - just follow Michael and wait when he will turn into the pits. But Hill was too stupid to do that. He paid for his fervor. And, of course, Michael deserved 1994 title much more than Damon - just look at the stats.
@pleshrd Not agreed !!pls check that video better and consider only facts!1)Schumacher goes crashing on the wall by his mistake due to the pressure of Hill on his back.2)Then come back on track only looking for an Hill damaging.3)Hill try to pass him on left but he close.4)Hill pass him on right,Schumacher let it come in and then hit him.
If i was the FIA director, after this he stop to race for one year. Was another era,now to win a c.ship by that way is not possible anymore(thanks God)
@marcfam, forget your facts. Hill could win the 94 champ without his stupid overtaking maneuver. And by the way, in 1994 FIA has eaten all gap between Schumacher and Hill in the championship. They took away Michael's clean victory in Spa and unfairly disqualified Michael for two races. Fuckin' sadomasochist Mosley should eat shit for his 1994 anti-Schumacher decisions.
Schumacher is one of the greatest drivers ever. He won in 1994, despite the FIA abhorrent cheating. He also won in 2003, when FIA has changed the rules against him and Ferrari. He's a brilliant driver. Villeneuve was a crybaby, he luckily won in 1997 even with a super-fast WIlliams-Renault. Jacques was just a shadow of his truly genious father.
and by the way.. what makes you see it so clear that he wanted to hit him? it always looked like he was gonna lock his way.... so now check Webber kicking out of the race Hamilton, it was about the same... Webber could have stopped, and maeby get hitted for behind, but he decided to crash Hamilton out to save his ass.... that was also cheating and i dont see people even talking about it. so now eat your words ;)
If you consider "hitting2 otehr cars to cheat you have no clue about competition... cheat is using illegal things in your car... eating corners in the road... to hit other cars and stuff like that is to be smart (always that you dont have other choice), and is good. If you dont get it just stop watching COMPETITION races.
Schumacher is, without question, the best F1 driver ever. The statistics say so. You can criticise him here and there for some of the things he did, but you can't take the achievements away from the man. He dominated F1 for 10 years solid and no-one could come close. Before you say silly things criticising him, take a good hard look at your own life - I doubt you will come within 1% of Schumacher's success. So stop being pathetic losers and salute the man for his greatness rather than criticise
In 2003 he drove a scruffy race in a stuttering 8th place because the McLarens and Williams were his only threats and that meant he just needed to drive casually
Yep he definately can't cope with championship pressure. In '94 he tried to take out Hill's front wheel and front wing. In a desperate attempt to keep his position from a error he made in the previous corner. Here he simply tries to burst the radiator (like Vettel did to Button at Spa this year) although at Spa it was unintentional. Or he tried to damage the suspension as Murray and Martin say. In '98 he stalled the engine at Suzuka
For all his successes, he was dreadful at coping with championship pressure. He only seemed to thrive when he could clinch the title halfway through the season. If you think about all the times he took the title to the wire, you'll see what I mean. In '94 and '97 he took out the competition with varying degrees of success, in '98 he stalled on the grid from pole position, in '03 he had dismal race and was lucky not to lose the title to Kimi but in '06 nobody expected him to win so he did well!
Schumacher is a dick, and this proves it. Trying to swipe another driver to get the championship, that's cheating, bad sportsmanship and just not in the spirit of true racing. Seems luck was with Jacques though, as Schumacher was the only one screwed by that attempt, and Villeneuve won the World Championship.
Shuey IS a cheater!!!! He did it to J V, he did it to Damon, M H and others...CHEAT dirty wank!!!...Shuey NEVER won unless his car was the best!...Didn't start winning at Ferrari till the big money from shell came in and Marlboro pulled the funding from McClaren at put it at Ferrari...won with Benneton when Renault was heads and tails above everybody and he took out Hill to win it....I loved it when D.C. and M.H. tucked behind J.V. to ride him home!!!!! Nobody liked Shuey- WANK
@ImFasterThanTheStig ya, he Helped turn a team around but as I stated Phillip Morris and Shell had much to do with it...SHUEY crashed into DC at spa btw!!!!!! and not sure why you brought up Senna/Prost - I never mentioned them but I don't think you are correct when you say people don't mention that, cause you hear it all the time...And after viewing this clip you don't think Shuey was a cheating sneak then you must be related to him or blind!
@dariounited oh Gawd, now you're playing the racism card...you're pathetic and obviously in love with MS...If it makes you feel better and stops your whinning I will go on a Senna/prost clip and say they were sneaky low-down cheaters as well! Will that make you happy little boy?? Now stop bothering me and go gush at you MS poster above you bed.
@dariounited 14 years ago you drove in another way... schumacher learned driving in the 80s you also saw that in hungary 2010 (schumacher - barichello). And as an german I can say you Schmacher isn't as popular as Vettel is... Here in Germany everybody loves Vettel... becuase he always was so optimistic... An in Belgium 2010 Vettel didn't the crash because of intention to button it was just caused by not having learned out ...
@dariounited , I do not know who you are, but I know you're very stupid, under what rock did you sleep? you have all the wonderful years that Schumi won with your eyes closed sitting?
First off,Schumacher with Benetton defeated the dominant Williams renualt, WITH A FORD! only 95 "Renault saw that Hill was a slow bag, and wanted their engine to give to a good driver! 96''was almost all Marlbor money in McLaren, and Schumi won 3times from way much better williams, only because he is and was best
@ScuderiaGiancarlo i agree the comments of the other guy was stupid michael is legend. but there is this strange idea that the benetton was slow. it wasnt. it was more than a match in 94. the williams was a mess at the start of season. it was only when mansell come in and said the same things as damon that the team started listening. Also ben were years ahead of williams in pit strat time and time hill would be winning and his pit would be 5s slower than michael...how was he to compete with that
@bren85q You are absolutely right about the pit stops, and the Benetton of 94'was definitely a good combination with Schumi, but the engine was much weaker than those from Williams, though the Ford Zetec-R was very reliable
But especially the Williams of 1995 was much faster than the B195, despite the same engine, anyone can find what he wants, but the story of ''dariounited'' is to stupid for words, Schumi and Senna are just the best!
Schumacher would rather a fellow driver died in a crash so long as he won the race - Look at Barrichelo in Hungary 2010 - He should have his licence revoked !
Michael is real asshole, starting from 1994 until now. What he did to Barricello in Hungary last sunday, show him that he is the real MotherFuc***. FIA should ban this devil from F1 forever before he kill other driver.
my mistake, not all formula 1 champions did this. hakkinen, hill and button are all gentlman. but take a look at senna, schumacher, alonso or hamilton and see what they do and how they react when they loose. why? because they are great champions and they don't like to loose and they will push themselfs and the others to the limits in order to win. as for villeneuve...the only f1 champion who never won a race after he became champion, that says it all.

But In today's context, this will surely be dealt with as a pure racing incident.

look at villeneuve's onboard starting at 3:00 - by the time he hit the inside curb he'd barely turned into the corner. I'm Canadian and it's obvious even to me that Villeneuve screwed up and got lucky. Schumacher being disqualified from the '97 season because of this is a complete joke.

@gonira, you simply didn't understand me (thanks to my English)) I mean that JACQUES HAD TO GO OUT OF THE TRACK if Michael didn't push him to the corner. Vileeneuve's move was very stupid. It was just a lottery and luckily he won that time. Look carefully on a Jacques' trajectory before and after the collision.
pleshrd 1 year ago
@pleshrd
Schumacher hitting Villeneuve did not help Villeneuve make the corner. Getting a big whack on your sidepod from another car would destabilise your car, which is exactly what you don't want when braking for a corner.
BoneHomer 1 year ago

@SaintBEEP Other drivers have done it once or twice, Schumacher has a reputation for it. Adelaide 1994, European 1997, Monaco 2006 and only last season he tried to put Barrichello into the wall in Hungary at 170 mph
ShaneClarkSAFC 7 months ago
@ShaneClarkSAFC At the time this happened he was still given the crap when this first happened. yes i think this was definitely the last straw but the first time he really did anything controversial at Adelaide in 1994 he was always held "dirty" Whereas you think of altercations between other drivers like Senna & Prost, it is basically forgotten because everyone feels they shouldn't critisize Senna because he was killed, and they feel that he is the perfect driver.
SaintBEEP 7 months ago
@SaintBEEP The Prost and Senna altercations you could argue both were to blame, the 1st incident in Japan 1989, Senna basically tried to get through a gap which he physically couldn't, at the same time Prost gave him no room to make a move, in 1990, Senna took Prost out for revenge after being disqualfied in 1989. Senna nor Prost were nowhere near perfect drivers behavioral wise, but as I say for Schumacher to do it on at least 4 occasions is very unsportsman-like.
ShaneClarkSAFC 7 months ago
@ShaneClarkSAFC errr he didnt tried to put barrichello anywhere, barrichello did it to himself. It's funny how when it's schumacher, he is the bad wolf and gets 10 positions penalty and when barrichello rammed rosberg this season in the beginning, he didnt got any penalty at all. Double standard anyone? ^_^
metal502 7 months ago
@metal502 Barrichello got a drive through.
supercas46 7 months ago
@supercas46
Yeah, but compared to 10 poles behind on the next start, a drive through isn't much to compare, considering barri simply rammed there.
metal502 7 months ago
@metal502 Of course its a penalty, Barrichello just made a mistake and outbraked himself and was penalised as he should be. A drive through for Schumacher wouldn't have been a penalty in Hungary as it was at the end of the race and he was outside the points, it would've cost him nothing, even Schumi admitted he deserved the penalty for that and that it was dangerous.
supercas46 7 months ago
@TheNation6, it's impossible to beat fastest cars w/o so-called "cheating", isn't it? I think it's normal because all teams wanna win.
And, btw, IN JEREZ 1997 WILLIAMS HAD MAKE A DEAL WITH MCLAREN TO REDUCE SCHUMACHER'S PACE AND TO DECREASE THE GAP BETWEEN SCHUMACHER AND VILLENEUVE. It was a horrific cheating, wasn't it?

@marcfam, and also, I hate Schumacher's haters. He's a genious, unquestionable genious, much higher than hill, vileeneuve & other rivals-crybabies. Only Senna, Hakkinen and Alonso were worthy rivals for Michael. All others were pitiful crybabies: "ooh, he's a cheater, he's a cheater, bla-bla-bla-bla-bla...". They just didn't know how to drive fast in each particular race and that's all. Hill and Villeneuve were mediocre drivers. And some controversial incidents mean absolutely NOTHING for me.
pleshrd 1 year ago
@pleshrd i think you're not willing to think about this matter ,you just thinking Shumacher is a god ,any blame for any sin.I suggest you to keep more open your mind and not stop to early to search the true.I think you simply not interested to see the true if it's not where you want it is.
marcfam 1 year ago
@marcfam, he's not a God, but he's absolutely great. Unfortunately, best Michael's years in career occured in the era of "good guys" in F1. For example, Senna could simply throw his rival out and win the championship without silly excuses and sorries. Unfortunately, Michael couldn't because that's the another era.
pleshrd 1 year ago
@marcfam, don't forget that F1 is a cruel men sport, it's not a ballet or bellydancing and if you wanna win you MUST do completely, ABSOLUTELY everything for it. If a driver doesn't think so ("oh, I'm a gentleman, I can't do such an inhuman things, I hate cheating, etc") - he isn't a racing driver, he's a crybaby. And I hate modern F1 with its gestapo-like penalisation system. That's why Michael is forced to constantly make excuses
pleshrd 1 year ago 3
@pleshrd it's only a "cruel men sport [sic]" because particular drivers and teams make it so, at the expense of other drivers with silly notions like "morality" and "fairness". the unfortunate truth is that drivers like schumacher and teams like ferrari are fast enough that the only way to beat them is to stoop to their level. take this season: everyone knows alonso doesn't deserve those 7 points from hockenheim, but the only way for red bull to win the championship now is to cheat the same way.
TheNation6 1 year ago
@TheNation6 please explain whar [sic] means.
thatguywiththecodes 1 year ago
This is Schumacher style..if he can't win by regular way,he find a "solution".( see recently to avoid Barrichello passing him)...Very fast driver but i think overrated !!!Do not forget ,he lost 3 times championship at last race (also stop engine during starting at once )The only he won was the shamed which he crashed out Damon Hill .Psychological fragility ,Jaques Villeneuve was a giant compared to him ,too strong personality to be beaten on same conditions.
marcfam 1 year ago
@marcfam, Hill lose in 94 by his own fault. Schumacher's car was broken and he couldn't continue the race. All that Damon should do - just follow Michael and wait when he will turn into the pits. But Hill was too stupid to do that. He paid for his fervor. And, of course, Michael deserved 1994 title much more than Damon - just look at the stats.
pleshrd 1 year ago
@pleshrd Not agreed !!pls check that video better and consider only facts!1)Schumacher goes crashing on the wall by his mistake due to the pressure of Hill on his back.2)Then come back on track only looking for an Hill damaging.3)Hill try to pass him on left but he close.4)Hill pass him on right,Schumacher let it come in and then hit him.
If i was the FIA director, after this he stop to race for one year. Was another era,now to win a c.ship by that way is not possible anymore(thanks God)
marcfam 1 year ago
@marcfam, forget your facts. Hill could win the 94 champ without his stupid overtaking maneuver. And by the way, in 1994 FIA has eaten all gap between Schumacher and Hill in the championship. They took away Michael's clean victory in Spa and unfairly disqualified Michael for two races. Fuckin' sadomasochist Mosley should eat shit for his 1994 anti-Schumacher decisions.

ScuderiaGiancarlo 11 months ago
@ScuderiaGiancarlo i agree the comments of the other guy was stupid michael is legend. but there is this strange idea that the benetton was slow. it wasnt. it was more than a match in 94. the williams was a mess at the start of season. it was only when mansell come in and said the same things as damon that the team started listening. Also ben were years ahead of williams in pit strat time and time hill would be winning and his pit would be 5s slower than michael...how was he to compete with that

@bren85q You are absolutely right about the pit stops, and the Benetton of 94'was definitely a good combination with Schumi, but the engine was much weaker than those from Williams, though the Ford Zetec-R was very reliable

my mistake, not all formula 1 champions did this. hakkinen, hill and button are all gentlman. but take a look at senna, schumacher, alonso or hamilton and see what they do and how they react when they loose. why? because they are great champions and they don't like to loose and they will push themselfs and the others to the limits in order to win. as for villeneuve...the only f1 champion who never won a race after he became champion, that says it all.
