From these clips the vocals don't seem as good as previous albums.. the phrasing etc seems so .. gappy, there's no flow. Might just be because I'm unfamiliar with this material though.

this is album turned into a radio album, simple lyrics (with sing a long parts) and to easy guitar work... I was realy looking forward to this album, but it didn't deliver, to bad there previous album were gold!

@bacardibmx who cares if the bands are easy to cover, from what ive heard of death metal, its all one tune and a bunch of gutteral grunting. once in a while they'll thrown in a guitar solo, but the rest of the time its inaudible. thrash metal is good, but after a few hours of listening to it, it gets annoying, and black metal is just a whole different level of weird. the bands you listen to are fine, i just like slipknot because they are different, now stop yelling and use your inside voice.

All Nevermore albums were different, and unique in a specific way. So how does this one differ from the other ones ? It's a fuckin pile of shit... that's how it does. I never thought they will ever release a bad record, but this one does not even deserve to be called a Nevermore record. I have no idea what happened to them, but this is what I least expect from such a talented band, and especially from Warrel Dane. For me, It's probably the gratest musical disappointment of all time.

The album is awesome, I just wish there was another song or two, it's kind of short. But every song is well thought out and delivered well (there are a few very minor things that I would have changed, but nothing to get upset about)

His voice is fantastic. I disagree with the people that don't dig it. It suits the music perfectly. I like a Metal Roar as much as the next person however these guys do something a little different. It's great.

i'll see how i feel about this album when i get the whole thing. right now, i'm having mixed feelings. some listens i think "damn this is amazing," others i'm just rolling my eyes. either way, i can't wait. can't be a bad album since this is nevermore, after all. even if it turns out to really disappoint me, celph titled + buckwild are dropping an album soon too, which i already know is gonna be FIRE.
So, I hate to say this, but I just heard the album and, while I love 99% of Nevermore's stuff, it is very lackluster. I don't know what is going on, it feels like it was phoned in, it seems like they just weren't trying. Maybe they felt like they didn't have to, I don't know. I am gonna wait a little while and give it another listen, but so far I am very disappointed, mostly because I have been waiting forever for this. On the plus side they will be playing here on my birthday in September!!

I still consider "The Politics of Ecstasy" their best album, followed by "Dead Heart" and "Dreaming Neon Black"...this is more "compressed" but it kinda lacks of impact. And I miss Neil Kernon.
It's hard to form a response from just those small samples. My favorite full album is Godless, and my favorite song is River dragon. Dane spoke highly of the maiden spoke (that's how wikipedia quoted him anyway). I can't wait to hear the doors cover, crystal ship.

All Nevermore albums were different, and unique in a specific way. So how does this one differ from the other ones ? It's a fuckin pile of shit... that's how it does. I never thought they will ever release a bad record, but this one does not even deserve to be called a Nevermore record. I have no idea what happened to them, but this is what I least expect from such a talented band, and especially from Warrel Dane. For me, It's probably the gratest musical disappointment of all time.

@bacardibmx thrash metal is not the only genre out there, sad to say it, but there are more like 40 genres and fusions of metal, all of them real. you dont want there to be more than one, because you believe that thrash is the basis of all metal, which is not true. alot of different bands came to prominence by changing the way metal is played, which is more than i can say for the bands you like. nothing you can say will make me believe you, just give up, you've lost dipshit.

I've listened to this album almost 15 times all the way through :D
The album is awesome, I just wish there was another song or two, it's kind of short. But every song is well thought out and delivered well (there are a few very minor things that I would have changed, but nothing to get upset about)
Currently learning "And the Maiden Spoke" on drums. Hope to have a video up soon.

i'll see how i feel about this album when i get the whole thing. right now, i'm having mixed feelings. some listens i think "damn this is amazing," others i'm just rolling my eyes. either way, i can't wait. can't be a bad album since this is nevermore, after all. even if it turns out to really disappoint me, celph titled + buckwild are dropping an album soon too, which i already know is gonna be FIRE.

So, I hate to say this, but I just heard the album and, while I love 99% of Nevermore's stuff, it is very lackluster. I don't know what is going on, it feels like it was phoned in, it seems like they just weren't trying. Maybe they felt like they didn't have to, I don't know. I am gonna wait a little while and give it another listen, but so far I am very disappointed, mostly because I have been waiting forever for this. On the plus side they will be playing here on my birthday in September!!

Anyway, 3 weeks before my Nevermore birthday I get to see Megadeth and Slayer. I am so glad I moved somewhere that bands like to play.

It's hard to form a response from just those small samples. My favorite full album is Godless, and my favorite song is River dragon. Dane spoke highly of the maiden spoke (that's how wikipedia quoted him anyway). I can't wait to hear the doors cover, crystal ship.
