  • I absolutely love and adore the hillbilly way of life, seriously I really do,they know how to have fun, I wish one day to move to these parts of the country, im from scotland, bring it on!

  • I can't believe you brutally assassinated that poor pig just so you could eat it. Ever hear of TOFU? TOFU doesn't hurt anyone! Pigs are people too, you know!

  • terrible job of cutting the pig lol take it off,cut it down the spine from head to tail and then separate shoulders and thighs from ribs. and go from there. Don't cut the pig ryt away. Give it between and hour or two before doing anything to it. Meet will be way better. And also smaller pigs, 50-60lbs are way more delicious and you only need to cook them for about 5 hrs top

  • It's a pig. It's dead, and they're roasting it. No big deal.

I'm sure the pig doesn't care. It surely would have eaten the corps of any of these people, were it given the chance.

It's the way of the World.

  • Pig Roast is not good because you can not change the height

    of pig

it is best if you can change

    so as not to burn

  • great video i hope you make more

  • tortured piggy omg

  • u really didnt have to git that equipment...all u need is a few thick sticks, a hole and some logs.

  • Interesting video.

At 1:51, the appearance of the pig changes. It appears to be wrapped in something that's attached to a wooden slat on the back of the pig. What is that?

  • Yup suckling pig lechon looks more Yummy. Suckling pigs drink milk only and meat is more tender.

  • were in Portugal

we roast litlle pigs, its more tender and tasty

    its call (leitoes) baby pigs

    but yours looks delicious

    regards

  • yum! looks awsome!

  • I used a "La Caja China box. A roaster typically used by latinos to roast pigs. The rind is so crispy doing that way.

  • Who's the chick at 4:37 with the plaid dress?

  • thanx for sharring =)

  • how much does it cost for a pig and how many will it feed. dam thats a lot of cooking

  • how much does it cost for a pig and how many will it feed. dam thats a lot of cooking

  • Was that a flamethrower?!? DAMN. Now thats how u light up a fire lol.

  • how much would an average whole pig cost? i like to spit roast one for my inlaws and family at a camp ground. it sounds so tasty.

  • @outbacktraveler It all depends on your region, and the time of year. Typically, pork prices are higher in the summer months in North America. Best bet is to call your local butcher, or hog supplier, and ask them.

    Thanks for watching!

  • that looks really goood! wish i was there.

  • Hurrrrdurr: I can't help but wonder if you're a vegetarian why are you on here looking up videos on roasting pigs?

  • luv it! family is what matters n everyone looks happyy...good job on da pig

  • The skin is burned totally.

Aluminum foil until it is cooked and then remove benutzenbis.

  • Yeah, just wrap 'er in some chicken wire and secure it with a plank of wood.

  • mmmmm lechon!!!

  • the trick is u have to poke the skin a hundred times all over w/ a needle so it wont crack and u have to keep brushing it w/ marinade .

  • yeah u also eat filthy ugly stinky possums and rats !

  • its called "lechon" in tagalog. Filipinos make them most of the time, and it tastes really really great!

  • I bought a dead pig and i roasted it in my back yard and had pork sandwitchs

  • damn I wish I had one of those, but for now cinder blocks, wood, and 2 big grills will have to do for now

  • Yea, it will definitely turn out better if it's a smaller pig.

  • You Made Roasted Pork?

  • No problem hurrrrdurr. I considered a vegetarian diet once, but it turns out you are not allowed to hunt vegetarians !

  • @BBQTalk Now that's a good one.

  • @BBQTalk I like it.........hunt vegetarians LOL

  • Love the accents, they are true BBQ accents! You know how to cook a pig dude, and thats something not everyone knows how to do! well done

  • Mostly, yes.

  • u should learn from filipino style roasting.

  • i don't want to learn how to roast snails

  • well ur not gonna learn that from filipinos, that's unheard of.

  • yummy

  • NO FLAVOR FROM GRILL

  • Where's the head? everytime I've ever been to a pig raost the head was still there.

  • OMG: i would love to eat that. haha

  • that totally came out wrong I meant swine flu on a stick anyway the roasted pig looks tasty though

  • swine flew on a pig

  • ah man i wanna try bbqing a whole pig, thats cool

  • great vid. thanks

  • i wish i was there to join the feast .

  • here in the philippines we include the pig's feet and head. also, they don't wrap the whole pig with wire and stuff. and it tastes great... hmmmm...

  • thx for posting..that looks amazing:)

  • in the philippines we called that lechon

  • Lame

  • I had some with some Philipino peopel here in TEXAS!! Great people and great food!! Que padre mi Amigo!!

  • romanianslav3 fake account made by a hungry hungaryan asshole

  • Wow thats really good cooking man!

  • any spices added to the pig????

  • oh my god!! You better believe I'd eat that! the crackling alone must have been to die for!

  • Thats some good memories right there!!!

  • I am going to say this.

I am a meat eater all the way, you are meat, you have more enzymes in your body for the purpose of breaking down meat. But being a 100% Northern from New York this creeps me out a little bit. I know, I know, city slicker, tree hugger, etc. I love animals, if I had to kill one it would be fucking hard as hell for me to do so, I don't like to hurt anything..........except Humans.....because they suck.

But I am guessing it tastes real good and I would love it.

    Thanks.

  • No problem, lots of people have a difficult time when it comes to whole hog!

Is it the site of the pig, or do you not eat stuff like bacon and ham as well?

  • It's the sight of the Pig.

I don't normally eat Pork, but we are humans, eating the flesh of other animals basically gives us all we need. But if you asked me to kill that Pig for my supper I would be eating crackers.

But if you just handed me a plate with some applesauce, bbq sauce and a Beer I would dive right in.

  • Same here... I can eat pork and other meat just fine, but seeing it whole with its nubs and all... t'was like witnessing torture. Or like a dog being roasted...

I hate that I'm one of those meat-eaters/omnivores who loves the meat, but can't stomach watching how it gets to my plate, but I... well I just am, unfortunately. I used to feel the same way about turkeys and chickens as a kid, but because I've seen whole turks and chicks cooked about a hundred times in my life now, I'm used to it.

  • That video made me hungry, and I just had lunch an hour ago. incredible...Here in Puerto Rico we just place a puertorican to turn it,when the dude is drunk we replace him and so on until we get like 5 or six drunks. it takes a lot of beers to roast a pig.

  • I have a question for you BBQTalk, do you guys hold competitions like say in Bay Area California? Specifically for roast pig competitions.

  • I am at a hog roast on the 4th july and i cant wait slurp, beer and pig a winning combination.

  • we are cooking a 85lb pig on july 4th. it's our first time and we are very nerves. we are not going to stuff it. do we need to apply the board and the wire? we would love any tips you can give us. manny in lorain, ohio

  • vegetarians

  • man that looks so good. dang 10 hours to roast a pig that big?

when i went to mexico we had killed a pig but we didnt roast it they cut it to pieces and made a variety of food. you guys should make rolls of skin, meat, and fat and then you deep-fry it, in a pan of oil, and man thats delicious too if your looking for something crunchy.

  • i have a 40 lb pig how long should it take too cook

  • A pig that size would benefit from a higher cooking temp.

    I would cook a 40 lb'er at 350 for 5 - 6 hours, or until internal temp hits 185 - 190

These internal temps make for "good pig pickin"

Let us know how it turns out!

  • TSC store has it too!

    Thanks for posting...graet job

  • To the BBQTalk folks:

That was great! Thanks for posting.... This gives me WAY to many ideas!!! ;-)

  • NICE work gents!!!

  • so how did you guys season it???

  • salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder...thats all we used for this one.

  • mmm this looks positively delicious i've always wanted roast pig :)

  • can i make a suggestion...in my country the philippines roast pig or we called it "lechon" is so common in every celebration that even kids know how to roast it...your doing it wrong but then again its your pig not ours..anyway a little secret if you want a crispy skin and has a golden brown feel add some cola on your pig...while roasting it apply some cola on its skin using bbq brush ok...enjoy!

  • soy sauce will work as well

  • that may taste nice but i can tell you this that wire that you used on the pig contains dangerous chemicals

  • I like the idea, however, I think that pit needs some kind of divider so that the pig can adjust to a higher level. It is too low, the skin is burned, and that is the best part.

I bought one of those "Set it and forget it." Just put a pork leg in, butter and salt.... forget it and in 3 hours...OM*!

  • its beautiful....*sniff*

  • yummy

  • im hungry now....that pig looks delicious ....and to the made in china guy/girl/thing/whatever...(stephentsang2000) not every body likes roaste dog....no offense to the dogs nor the rest of made in china people....

  • do you know that if there are these in pig flesh that they are killed in the cooking and pose no problem if the meat is cooked properly such as was done here.

  • I'm a microbiologist. Which deadly viruses and bacteria? I'm calling you on this. Pigs are roasted every day here in Ontario. If it was such a deadly thing to do, why is it legal?

Your complaints are propaganda for bitter vegetarians. I'd be bitter too if I ate tree bark for food.

  • It's just like cigarettes. We know that it's harmful but it is still legal, right? People know that there are a lot of hazardous contents in it but people still smokin.

  • THAT is your answer? You fail. Get some education and stop wasting people's time.

  • Umm,here in Hong Kong and neighbouring Macau, the best roasted pigs are baby pigs. We Cantonese have been eating roasted pigs for thousands of years. The baby roasted pigs have the same crunchy skin as adult pigs, yet their flesh are more tender inside. Their price are twice more expensive than adult roasted pigs. Chinese people would agree that you are an idiot to put adult roasted pigs on the top of the menu.

  • shut the fuck up

  • That's great stephentsang2000! Did I mention...get cancer!

  • I thougt these folks were Canadian. EHHHH!

  • omg i wanna jump into my desk and bite da pic...just leave me the crackskin..lol

  • GREAT MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM YUMMY

  • nice

  • let me guess, you had corn as a side dish @ this party.

  • BOOOO pork only!!!

  • I'm no vegetarian. But eating meat alone without veggies kinda suck. Not to mention your tongue and jaws start to get tired

  • I'm no vegetarian. But eating meat alone without veggies kinda suck. Not to mention your tongue and jaws start to get tired

  • pork is king!!!!!

  • I'm no vegetarian. But eating meat alone without veggies kinda suck. Not to mention your tongue and jaws start to get tired

  • best roast pilipino's

  • hm it looks very delicous

  • I've got to add one of those to my aresonal of bbq cookware!! thanks for doin the video!

  • Wow, like a true master

  • that is very very nasty

  • LOL, sorry you are offended. Since the beginning of time there have been hunters and there have been gatherers.

    Thanks for commenting.

  • no no im not offended i like meat :D just the raw dead body of the pig is nasty not the finished product

  • *oink*, lol.

  • he he send this to a vegaterian group lol. Pig Roast is so tasty when at professional BBQs. Im havin people over this Wednesday and I wanna get this but you can only get these from companies

  • jamesthq, I dun understand what u mean by only companies??

  • sorry peroffesional organisers rather then pick this up at specialist supermakets. You cant just buy a load of pig roast and take it home you have to get people to come round and cook it for you. Hense the price...
