It was veay easy to see that Godzilla won that battle for two reasons #1 The Ghostbusters proton packs only work on ghosts that Godzilla is not.#2 Godzilla is invasable.

Doctor is SO wrong. The G-B's kick but & take names(especially from 'Tobin's Spirit Guide'...). But Godzilla has withstood being killed 4(!) times in the Hesie Era films(including his near utter anilhilation in the 1954 film. 5 if You include 'GvsKing Ghidorah's time travel erase-from-history story complete...or rather incomplete with WHOPPING temporal plot-hole! 3 present day folk go back with future folks to remove G from Bikini Islands. They return & folks TELL How G is gone from history!).
