they got a new ride in 2011! the scrambler. its SUPER fun. it took the place of g- force and g- force was moved to the great new arcade on main street! oh yeah, @bacon4lunch, no, not really go on wednsday or thurs. 8D

@allenhuffman Don't feel bad Allen, the last time I went to Adventureland was back in 2004, and I haven't gone back since. My mom took me, my brother and sister there many many years ago, and there's some rides my mom can't go on anymore because of some of her health problems, so you are not the only one.

maybe a major part broke and they had to order the piece for it. that is probably why. other wise there has never been a ride down for the entire season. umm.. ill see when im there on the 27. its might be a part but hmm. idk. next time u go tell me if its still not working.

When I go to the park for just an hour or so, it's usually to ride the Outlaw and Tornado (then maybe the Dragon), and the Underground. I'm a fan of old style carnival dark rides, so the Underground is probably my favorite thing there. I also like the Skyride and taking the train. I can't ride spinny rides, so there are several things there I have never ridden (G-Force, Inverter, Splash Over, etc. and Mixer came and went before I ever got to ride it.)

The one at Adventureland just rocks, but there are versions that go all the way around. The two main amusement parks in Texas (Astroworld in Houston, Six Flags near Dallas) each had one, but one was like Adventureland's and just rocked, and the other was the Looping Starship or something that went all the way around.

Back in early seventies I went to a park called Adventureland. It had a coaster called The Super Italian Bobs, a walk-thru fun house next to the coaster. A smaller version of the coaster called just the "bobs". A ride I think was called the Himalaya. Does this ring any bells with anyone? Is this the same park featured in video?

Well, there is a fun house next to the dragon and the himalaya is right there... but idk about the bobs cuz I don't know of a smaller coaster. They might have taken it out.

pretty sure the "dodge'em cars" are called the frantic freeway, but nice video man it makes the park look great. too bad no Kokomo Kove though. ;)

I had to go back and check, since I don't think there is an actual sign at the attraction, but the park map lists them as "Dodge 'em Cars". Was the Frantic Freeway the self-drive cars that used to be over near where the Convoy is now? (Before my time, but I've heard about them?)

Addendum: I've found someone else on the net referring to the bumper cars by that name, in reference to someone who was scheduled to work the attraction, so maybe it was a previous name? Weird.

I was there today and they said "welcome to the Frantic Freeway, go in a counter clockwise direction and try to avoid all head on colisions" but I just checked my map and it said Dodge 'em cars. I don't know. They are closed for the whole year now. Can't wait til next year!!!

All the rides could have been shown in action instead some of not in action, this way, potential visitors would have an idea of the operation of the rides.

Totally agreed. Falling Star wasn't operating, and neither was Sidewinder. A few others just had no guests anywhere to ride them the times I went by. As I visit the park more this year, I'll keep bringing the camera until I finally have action shots of all the rides, then I'll do the "real" video in Final Cut and make something a bit better.

Thanks Allen! My vicar and his family, my deaf lady friend from California and myself are coming to Adventureland on June 2nd (my vicar's and my birthday) for a day out there. We're hoping for a picture perfect day. We're hoping that the Kokomo Kove feature will be open so my vicar's son, John, will have a blast there while my friend from California and myself enjoy the rides.
