What makes movies like this and "The Help" sooooo special and emotional is that people actually went through and LIVED through times like this. I'm 33 years old and I remember my grandmother, great grandmother, and aunts telling me stories of how things were back then and what they had to go through. Just the music alone is emotional to me because of the impact this movie has on me. This is definately one of the greatest filmsof all time. Thank you to ALL who made this movie memoriable.

I was six years old when the color purple came out and even at that young age i knew how special it was.Color purple did not get it,s proper dues.This movie deserved a lot more reconition and awards then it got.

this is my all time favorite movies too...i just got done watching it on this laptop...it just made me cry.... im so happy the 2 sisters got back together and the mother got her 2 children. they really should make more movies that can make you cry
