i'd put unknown soldier in my top ten favourite albums. and i love the older stuff too. saw the band's farewell gig in southsea and it was amazing, such a tight band.
They (The Hoax) have kind-of reformed for the occasional gig, I believe: saw them just before Christmas - they were under the name 'Jesse Davey and Friends' (there are clips here on YouT).
i don't really know the hoax. i have seen them here on you tube, on later with jools holland (with jon looking rather unfortunate!). when i said 'the band...' i was refering to AMOR, which as i'm sure you know, and as the name suggests, was jon's own band, after the hoax and before he went solo.
this guy is a real treat. I've had his first CD in the car since it came out. never seen him live but would love to. any body know wher he will play in UK ?
Saw him up close (6 feet away) in Zooma Zooma cafe in Jordan Ontario. This guy is fantastic! Well worth seeing him if you get the chance. Very talented.
I've had the honour of being tourmanager for Amor once... and the scary experience of opening for him, with my former The Hoax tribute band; "Twenty Ton Weight" ... he joined us on stage for High Expectation and Groovebreaker... of course, I got my ass kicked seriously... but cool tho..! he's a great guy, and I look forward to the upcoming Hoax reunion in holland in a couple of weeks... I look forward to it, thank you. If only Rockpalast would release it commercially! I discovered The Hoax just as they split-up and discovered Amor just as they split-up! At least with Amor I got to see them once in Winchester, England. It was this line up anyway. There's the Humdinger Anniversary DVD to look-out for also! I have to say I probably prefer Amor to The Hoax, but both were excellent bands. The Amor debut is an all-time favourite of mine.
that's absolutely brilliant !!

Opinion from an old-ish (56) music fan?

Pure class. You used to be able to get the whole track of Jon's Myspace. Doesn't get much better than this.
