i'm trying to learn how to hear and play music, but i cant figure out most chord sounds for some reason.

and i cant afford lessons, so hopefully my ears will get used to the music and i will be able to play it just by listening.

I'm trying to do the same thing as you. If you haven't already, read up on music theory and make sure you understand scales and and basic chord theory like triads. Having some foundations really helped me a lot. Check out your local library for books.

got to sight reading to ensure timing/intro/ending is right and to identify areas that need more harmonies and improvisation.

its like speed reading.. its an acquired skill.
