@Nikudes Great video man! I have a Vector and a Core in black/yellow. There both great watches. Do you have a vector? If you do, you should do a comparison video of the Vector & Core. I know alot of people always wonder which 1 of the 2 they should buy.
@nappypant Only the Core has a depth gauge and it works to about 30ft (10m) of depth. If you don't go deeper than 30ft., I'd say it would be a good bet.
My core is reading 2Hpa higher than my vector and Davis vantage vue weather station despite the altitude ref set in all devices the same so that is resulting in incorrect SLP even more frustrating the core Ab pressure cannot be reset to factory !!!!!your thoughts would much appriciated. cheers
@truemartian1 My only suggestion is to try the "4-button reset" on the watch. Simultaneously holding the buttons at the four "corners" of the watch will reset it. If that doesn't work, I'd head to the source and ask Suunto. Good luck.
@richardmilk I'm not really sure but I imagine that the air pressure sensor in the watch is quite sensitive if it measures altitude changes in three foot increments. So if there's a gust of wind or the pressure drops momentarily, then that would most likely show up as an altitude difference on the display. That's my best guess.
I've been wearing the PAG40 wristwatch for over a year and never really knew how to use some of the functions. I know this was just a test video, but I want you to know that i learned a lot information with this video, thanks.
Hi Ncik great video, I agree with you casio is amazing in some way that you don't need a battery in the other hand I think sunnto is far more acurate when it comes to reading the barometer regardless the atitude you are in, casio will change reading in the barometer as son as you change location!!!!! which Sunnto would you recommend as I am about to purchase one.
@truemartian1 The Core is the only Suunto watch I have experience with so I don't have any more info on which to base a choice within the Suunto line. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
@simonspiers That's a good question. I don't have enough experience using the watches in changing altitudes and temperatures to answer that.
I just read the manuals. Casio manual warns that temperature changes will throw off the altitude reading. The Suunto manual warns that weather changes will effect the accuracy. That could mean air temp. and pressure.
Which watch do you have? Have you noticed this inaccuracy?
@nikudes I don't own either model but I do know some of the transducers are temperature sensitive and will give false readings if the temperature changes since a reference was set. I saw this a lot on an old Casio watch/barometer I had 20 years+ ago.
great vid! but its too bad that I have heard a lot of negative feedbacks on the CORE.. I was planning to get one but changed my mind. There no other watch that offers the same that the CORE has.. So sad.. Hope you can help me. Thanks.
Nice vid again! Looks like the Suunto caught up on peaked hill reaching 367ft eventually !! Looks like a nice part of the world youlive in.
I went walking 2 weeks ago in the Brecon Beacons UK, wild camped -4,the old suunto core didn't like it much, got very slow inbetween modes t that temp.

@HennesseyViperGTS I don't have a Vector but that comparison sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the tip.

What I've learned from the movie is to get magellan GPS module rather than watch... Good test - thanks

would these watches work for freediving as a fairly accurate depth guage?? thanks!

@nappypant no good im afraid, would need to be at least 60ft, but cheers for the reply.. :)

Great video. Is it my impression or the Suunto first indicated 350ft and then 367ft at the same place? Why is that?

Thanks! I do like it here. Interesting to hear how it reacted in the cold. Hope you had a great trip.

Great video! Very interesting to see these watches in a real situation testing the accuracy.
